Overall Look on Master Yi

Hello Summoner! Welcome to my Guide on Master Yi!
I just want to do a quick Showdown on how I like to play Master Yi. Master Yi is an AD Carry, wich means, he deals insane damage, but has low Life.

I like to play him mainly on Attack speed (because his "R" in combination with his "E", "Youmuu's Ghostblade" and his quick jump to the enemy with his "Q" is going to DESTROY whoever stands him in the way) and critical strike chance (the Mastery "Frenzy" and the entchantment "Furor" will bring you a huge boost of Speed, which on the other hand will let my "Statikk Shiv" charge faster).

Also, his "Q" is very useful against Minions (i choose my Masteries and Items for better Farming, while you still have advantages over enemy Champs). Overall, he's just a good Champion, he costs little "EP" and he's very easy to learn!

I hope I can bring you Master Yi a little closer. Lets jump right into it, shall we?

Summoner Spells

Flash: I choose flash, just because it's very efficient to get away with it: in Combination with his "Q" he can ***ainate Enemys pretty easy and get away just as good.

Ignite: If an enemy Champion flees to his Turret and you can't quite seem to kill him, just ignite him. The Damge this Spell deals will kill him often. But watch out: you have to hit him hard before igniting him. Otherwise the damge of "Ignite" will not kill him.

Items and their Purchase order

Start Items: Boots of Speed > 3x Health Potions > ...

My choise is quite self-explaining: "Boots of Speed" for increased Mobility (Wich you will need from early on) and "3x Health Potions" for better endurance. The health potions in Combination with your "W" heals tons of HP, wich is very usful after you took much damage.

Squishy build: ... > Avarice Blade > Berserker's Greaves > Phantom Dancer > Youmuu's Ghostblade > Statikk Shiv > The Bloodthirster > Infinity Edge > Furor (Enchantment)

"Avarice Blade", because your "Q" kills Minions quick and effective and this little Boost of Gold will speed up your way to your "Youmuu's Ghostblade". Also, the extra 10% critical strike chance will be very useful from early on.

"Berserker's Greaves", for even more increased mobility and attack speed. Very useful against Minions.

"Phantom Dancer" will increase your attack speed, increase your critical strike chance by a LOT and gives you extra 5% movement speed. Very important is its Passive: "Your Champion ignores unit collision", this will give you an huge advantage over enemy Champions, who're wanting to attack you after you killed some Minions with your "Q".

"Youmuu's Ghostblade": More attack Damage, Cooldown Reduction and More Strike chance. The unique passive (+20 Armor penetration) will let your damage raise even more, but the most important thing about "Youmuu's Ghostblade" is the unique active (+20% movement speed, +40% attack speed for 6s). It will save you A LOT of deaths, while giving you A LOT of kills. If you can use it good, you will be king.

"Statikk Shiv" gives you even more attack speed, critical strike chance and movement speed. But the MOST important thing about it is the unique passive (Moving and attacking builds static charges. At 100 charges your next attack expends the charges to deal 100 magic Damage up to 4 targets. This damage can critically strike). Your insane movement and attack speed (through "R", "Youmuu's Ghostblade" and all the other Items) will let this bad boy charge so fast, it will give you just insane advantages against enemy Champions and Minions.

"The Bloodthirster" is VERY affective with this build: The high critical strike change combined with the insane attack speed brings you back so much HP. Since you don't have much, you will be OK after a hard teamfight if you just jungle a little.

"Infinity Edge" will round this Build up with its insane damage and critical strike change / damage increase.

"Furor" will increase your movement speed even more. And it's good if you just have any spare gold left.

Standart Build: ... > Avarice Blade > Cloth Armor > Berserker's Greaves > Phantom Dancer > Chain Vest > Youmuu's Ghostblade > Thornmail > Statikk Shiv > The Bloodthirster > Furor (Enchantment)

"Avarice Blade", because your "Q" kills Minions quick and effective and this little Boost of Gold will speed up your way to your "Youmuu's Ghostblade". Also, the extra 10% critical strike chance will be very useful from early on.

"Cloth Armor" will slowly build up your Armor for the following "Thornmail" later on.

"Chain Vest" will also build up your Armor for the follwing "Thornmail" later on.

"Thornmail" will increase your Armor INSANELY, but also its unique passive will give you extra advantages in teamfights, 1v1s, etc.

"Furor" will increase your movement speed even more. And it's good if you just have any spare gold left.

Ability (+Order)

Q > E > Q > W > Q > R > Q > E > Q > E > R > W > E > W > W > R > W > W
As I said in the Ability notes, the Order of the Ability doesnt matter THAT much, but be sure to unlock every ability early. That would increase your chance of getting away from an Enemy (Safe you from Deaths). There's not much more into that.

The way you use your Abilitys properly:
Attack: Go near an enemy (Best if you're in a bush) and press "Q" to Jump on him. While you're jumping press "E" and "R" quickly (And activate the Items, if you have ones with active abilitys) and just auto-attack them.

Out of fight: to heal, press "W" and wait, untill you finshied meditating. You can stop by moveing, flashing, or other actions. Your meditation will not stop, when an enemy Champ attacks you.

Close to death: If you're just killed an enemy Champion near a Turret and you run away having low HP, but the last shot of the turret would kill you? Fear not, you have a chance by pressing "W". While meditating your Armor and m.Resistance will rise about 100. If you have enough HP, the Turrent isn't strong enough and you have a bit of luck, you can survive the shot from the Turrent.

There are many more ways to use Master Yi's Abilitys, but i just listet the most important ones.

Masteries

In this chapter i will show you on detail, why i choose those masterys.

4p in "Fury": More Attack Speed, which will show itself off in late game, when you just got your "Statikk Shiv".
2p in "Butcher": More damage to Minions. This will become handy early, when you just got your "Avarice Blade".
4p in "Deadlyness": Scaling Damage. Just to improve damage overall, sounds good, doesn't it?
3p in "Havoc": More free damage!
1p in "Weapon expertise": Extra Armor Penetration, I don't really have to add anything to this, do I? (:
2p in "Lethality": More critical strike damage, and since Master Yi is an melee Champ, this effect will double its affect!
2p in "Brute Force": Even more free damage!
1p in "Frenzy": After landing a critical hit, Master Yi will gain movement speed for 2s. This is very important, because this Master YI build will concentrate itself on critical strike chance too, so this Mastery i even more affective.
3p in "Sunder": Even more Armor penetration!
1p in "Executioner": Just awesome for finishing enemy Champs!
2p in "Perserverance": Master Yi doesn't REALLY need this, but you have to take it, because there's nothing better in the first line.
2p in "Tough Skin": Better endurance while farming.
2p in "Hardiness": More Armor, more endurance in fights!
1p in "Bladet Armor": This is even more awesome while farming in big Minion waves. When you as Master Yi only can concentrate on one Minion at a time, this Mastery will take a lot of work from you!

Runes

I tried to balance my Runes, and this is what i end up with.

9 Marks of Armor Penetration: Easy to explain, why I choose those, more potency of your basic attacks.
6 Seals of Armor, 3 Seals of Regeneration: Even better endurance while fighting. These 3 Seals of Regeneration will help you alot early, but later on they will be quite useless. (You cann choose 9 Seals of Armor if you wish so, but i recommend my choise)
9 Glyphs of scaling attack damage: In the early game it's not that affective, but in the late game you will have an huge advantage over your Enemys.
3 Quints of armor penetration: I explained this so often, you know why i choose those (:
