ITEMS
Usually you will teleport back to base when you reach lvl 6 or when you have like 1000 gold. The items you buy now is very important, so build accordingly against the enemy team.
Doran's ring: This is optional, but get 1 or 2 of these badboys against hard lane opponents such as Gragas if you feel like you get shat on.
Chalice of Harmony This is a standard item on Orianna to get, and it's really good because it gives you extra MR and mana regen, which Orianna benefits greatly from. You're going to buy this 90% of the time when laning against mages.
Tear of the Goddess With ToG, you sacrifice early power for a stronger late game. It's only recommended to buy it when facing easy lanes or you know you can last till late game without losing.
Seeker's Armguard Always rush this item against AD assassins!! No exceptions! After this, feel free to build standard again (Chalice and so on)
Negatron Cloak GET THIS ITEM ASAP AGAINST LEBLANC! then feel free to build the standard stuff.
Core Items:
Athene's Unholy Grail: This item is a MUST on Orianna. It literally gives everything you need on her, so you will build this even though you went Tear of the Goddess early.
Rabadon's Deathcap: The first of the "Big 3's". Deathcap should be build on every mage, always.
Void Staff: The second of the "Big 3's". After you get this item, you get a huge powerspike in damage output.
Zhonya's Hourglass: The third, and last of the "Big 3's". Gives you a big chunk of AP and a little bit of armor + a 2.5 second invulnerability (must-have on Orianna since she's such a squishy target).
The "Big 3's" is given the name because every mage in League of Legends should build those items, no matter what. the more you know.
Situational Items:
Abyssal Scepter: A great last item on Orianna, especially when facing an assassin or two who can jump on you. This lower your enemies MR if they are near you, and you get some MR & AP too.
Liandry's Torment: Good item against HP tanks such as Volibear or Mundo. Also good on poke comps since you chunck a good part with this item.
Morellonomicon: Against sustain champs such as Swain or Mundo. Also gives you decent AP and 20% CDR!
