Choose Champion Build:

  • LoL Champion: Orianna
  • LoL Champion: Orianna

Introduction

Hi people!

I recently bought Orianna and Started playing with her, finding every other build Incomplete. So that's why I made this build, to Show you how to play her and what to build.

Enjoy!

Let me get 1 thing straight. I SUCK at Dominion, so this build is only for 5vs5 Summoners Rift. Thx ;)

Runes (Carry and Support Style)

Carry Style:

The Runes I chose are for Extra laning and Harassing Abilitys. So this is what I chose and why:

Magic Penetration: Basicaly, you deal more damage. Very usefull to harass early game.

Mana: You need this, on top of your Meki Pendant and 2 Health Potions Also very usefull early game. Hold your Lane longer.

Ability Power: While using this build you should always go midlane. This way you get an Overlevel and Overfarm. Which is Usefull with Greater Glyph of Scaling Ability Power.

Magic Penetration: It makes tanks mor vulenerable against your spells, and boosts your spelldamage significantly.

Support Style:

While playing Support Style I wanna keep on Harrassing the enemy, as well as shielding my allies during the LaningPhase. so I chose these runes:

Mana: At start, you want to abuse your Command: Dissonance to Constantly harrass the enemy, and eventualy kill them, so that's why.

Mana: Same as Marks. (Read above!)

Cooldown Reduction: It works awsome with your Increased Mana and Mana Regeneration, for more and constant support in terms of Harrassing, Farming and Shielding.

Greater Quintessence of Replenishment Mana Regeneration: Also to Maintain your supportrole, expecialy early game.

Masteries (Carry and Support Style)

Carry Style:

As for Masterys I chose a 9/0/21 Setup With in:

Offence: Ability Power, Cooldown Reduction and Magic Penetration Why? For the Bonus Damage and Cooldowns

Defence: Why none? Because as Orianna you shouldn't waste Mastery Points in Defence -

Utility: Increased Health en Mana Regen, Increased Experience, Bonus Mana, Bonus Mana Regen, Increased Buff Durations, Reduced Cooldown Summoner-Flash, Reduced Cooldown and Reduced SummonerSpell Cooldown. Why? This is a basic Caster setup. It's good.

Support Style:

Offence: Ability Power, Cooldown Reduction and Magic Penetration Why? For the Bonus Damage and Cooldowns

Defence: Why none? Because as Orianna you shouldn't waste Mastery Points in Defence -

Utility: Increased Health and Mana Regeneration, Improved Teleport, Bonus Mana, Bonus Mana Regeneration, Increased Buff Duration, Greed, Increased Flash, Bonus Movementspeed, Cooldown Reduction and Summonerspell Cooldown Reduction. Why? This is a basic Caster setup. It's good.

Items (Carry and Support Style)

Carry Style

Usualy, This is my setup:

Pros: Good Harrassment Early on and Late Game, Long Laning Capabilities, Much Damage All Phases, Good Solo and Easy Farm

Cons: Squishy whole game, Item Dependant, Vulenerable for Disables.

Early Game

With these steps you can achieve a good Match history, and lots of wins (It worked with me)

The game starts, Buy Meki Pendant and 2 Health Potions. Run off to mid lane, and focus at minionkills, dodging the enemy and Harrassing (But don't use abilitys to kill minions. Your passive is enough for now). Once you got enough for Tear of the GoddessTry pushing your enemy to death or so that he needs to Recall. Recall, and buy Tear of the Goddess and maybe Boots (if possible). Continue farming and Harrassing. If you got enough for Catalyst the Protector Buy it Imediately. Now try to stay in your lane as long as possible. (That should be easy with the Catalyst.)

Oh, and Gank as much as Possible!

This however is the build for a Carry. If you like to Play Support, I recommend these Items.

Support Style

As a support, this is my setup:

Pros: Good harrassment, never too less mana, Pretty tough, Strong against tanks, Slow, good farming.

Cons: Less Damage, bad early game, Early game farming problem

Early Game

AS SUPPORT STYLE, DON'T TRY MID. INSTEAD TRY SIDE LANES. I don't play support style much, but I think in Early game you should focus on harrassing instead of farming. So Stay into the bush or something.
At beginning I usualy buy Meki Pendant and 2 Health Potions. As soon as possible I buy Tear of the Goddess and after that Boots. Then I build [Catalyst of Protector]] as soon as possible. And by then I'm around lvl 7. I then try to get Rod of Ages as soon as possible. By then teamfights should start (lvl 10-12).

Summoner Spells (Carry and Support Style)

Summonerspells. The good pick of summonerspells might affect the game in a good, or bad way. Choose them wise, always... As for Summonerspells This is what I recommend:

Carry style:

What I use:

Why? I just think these are the most usefull. (It might be just my own playstyle, though).

Good Summonerspells:

Why? Your domination depends on your playstyle, and your Summonerspells have to match your Playstyle. For example, you play very aggressive, you might need Clarity or Teleport.

Realy Bad Summonerspells:

Why? You just shouldn't waste your 1 slot with these... Again, depending on your playstyle, you might wanna pick Heal. But I wouldn't recommend it...

Support Style:

What I use:

Why? Flash for safety and Teleport so I can be anywhere on the map, to paricipate in teamfights, as well as saving a turret from a huge minionwave.

Good Summonerspells:

Why? Mostly depends on your playstyle, and what your team chose as Summonerspells.

Bad Summonerspells:

Why? Just don't pick them...

Playstyle (Carry and Support Style)

Carry Style

Once you're level 2, you can start being a nightmare for your enemy. Constantly place your ball behind their caster minions, and when he comes close, make it fly towards him and press "W". This'll do pretty much damage, when done right.

Remember your ball does less damage the more it hit's different badguys. (This can be crucial if you're beginning with Orianna).

When the technique above doesn't work or gets countered (Veigar, Swain could do it) just focus on your farm, and when you got your Tear and Catalyst, the technique will work, because you have enough mana to use.

Support Style

When you got yourself a decent laningpartner, do the same as when you're a carry. But not with the intention to kill, but to slow for your partner. This is usefull with both an AD or AP partner. Also don't forget your shield, and when the ball is attatched to someone, they get small bonusses.

VERY IMPORTANT!!
Don't forget the skills happen at the balls point. So you constantly need to look where it is, and position it like you would in a real life/death situation.

In late game

In the huge important teamfights, try to position your ball in the middle of the enemy team. Now, use your ulti and "W" skill. Once you can combinate that with surviving and shielding your team will love you for all of this.

If you wanna learn more about Orianna, or look at her abilitys, I recomment you just to watch the Riot Spotlight:

Farming

When you're playing mid or sidelane, you want to A constantly kill minions, but B also Harrass.
Well, Lucky you. Orianna can easily do Both!

While your ball is scaring the opponent(s) away, you can easily kill minions with basic attacks empowered with your passive! Isn't that great? Isn't that Wonderfull? What was Riot thinking to make such an OP champ.

Well... Realy... I don't mind. I love to play Orianna, ofcourse

Safety Matters

Placing wards is the best thing you can do for your team, expecialy at beginning and mid game, Having that advantange which really helps for better game play.

Some examples, your bot lane is not the best and have been ganked by the enemy mid Champion or jungler. Set up a ward at there lane to prevent feeders or ganks. Your team spots two enemy champions doing dragon, you en up getting a double kill with your mid team mate. You have a ward at enemy blue buff and steal it with smite. You put a Ward at enemy red buff, kill the enemy and steal the buff. someone is out there to gank you, you close them in with your mid team mate and eventualy change "The Gank into a Prank".

Summary

I hope this all helped making yourself a better Orianna-Player. Trying to make this build, I helped myself a lot. :P I enjoyed making it, and it took me a long time to do so. So please if you down-vote this build, tell me why you did it, and what's wrong with the build. But please experience it, instead of just voting down by overlooking my build.

Thanks, DaBo ;)
