Hello everyone, I'm HG White

from EUNE and I love all marksmen + gnar <3. I'm playing league since 2012 but I still learn about this game. I'll give you some tips/advices about Varus. Maybe he is really hard to master, but after seeing this guide you should know what you're doing. Please give me your feedback to improve my guides :D.

Pros

+ High poke damage (especially lethality)
+ One of the highest basic attack range (575)
+ Great against tanky compositions (especially basic attack)
+ Have CC
+ A lot of AOE damage (Q,E,R + runaan)
+ Mixed damage (can be played AP)

Varus is great poke champion. His mixed damage makes it even harder to counter. With his W's passive he can really destroy tankier champions. In teamfights he can zone with skills and also can one shot squishier targets (lethality).

Cons

- Low mobility
- Only skillshots
- Mana problems
- Easy to catch before 6 (lack of dash or blink etc.)
- Relatively long cooldowns

He is weak early game due to long cooldowns and also can be really easy catched. Without , or he can't really do a lot against engage champions such as , , etc.

For better positioning in teamfights, for escaping, for doing some tricks or just dodge something. Just most useful spell and in my opinion should be taken always.

Heal

Heal is primary spell for every ADC, but in meta of everything on bot it isn't the only spell that can be taken. gives you high early potential to win early game. It heals you and your botmate. I think if you don't want to think too much you can take it always. But in some situations it's better to take or .

BARRIER

You can take barrier if your support already has taken . It's also good if you know that enemies gonna take a lot of grievous wounds - s, build , , , etc.

CLEANSE

You can take cleanse if enemies has got early hard cc (like , etc.) or that much cc that isn't enough. If you've taken that ask support if he can take (not necessary if support has healing like , etc.).
