Introduction

Hey all, welcome to my Renekton build and guide.
Renekton is a very dangerous and sustainable laner, that is not bound to anything like mana or energy. He can heal up quite easy with Cull the Meek and his ultimate Dominus makes him even more sustainable with his extra amount of heal and the AoE damage; its very hard to towerdive him.
I place him as a Offtank and a guy (i head to read sometimes until i found out that i worte "gay" instead of "guy" first o.O) for solotop. He can have a quite high AD while being very defensive and his stun Ruthless Predator is a great death sentence on enemy carries (I mean, 1,5s is definetly enough for a good team to knock out Annie or Ashe or several other squishies.
Besides, listen to the great song Like a Boss by The Lonely Island if you wanna play LIKE A BOSS! ;)

Runes

So, here I am gonna explain my rune choices.
Lets begin with Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reduction. This is pretty easy to explain. Renekton is not dealing damage by common attacks. And your abilites have basically a very high cooldown, too high to spam them really, so you need Cooldown Reduction runes and Items. If you want you can also select the Greater Glyph of Celecrity or a mix of both. Works fine.

It should also be clear, why i use Greater Mark of Desolation. 1,6 Armor Pen is really useful, I swear you. If you really like it you can take Attack Damage runes, but I really advise you to take the [[Greater Mark of Desolation], they are to useful not to have them.

Well, for the seals there are basically three choices for you. You can take the Greater Glyph of Health, providing early game HP but being really expensive.
You can take the Greater Seal of Dodging, increasing your dodge chance and cooperating well with Nimbleness .
And you can take the Greater Seal of Armor for extra armor. Feel free to choose one of those three.

There are basically two kinds of Quints that are useful for you. First, this is the Greater Quintessence of Health. If you own a full set of Fortitude Quints this will increase your earlygame HP by >70 + *45 HP from Greater Seals of Fortitude + a Doran's Item gives + Veteran's Scars will make you be the earlygame-powertank.
And for the Greater Quintessence of Desolation there is the damage argument i already used for the seals.

Items

Well your items....
let's begin at the start fo the game. You will probably get a sololane if you have a jungler and if not, you´ll be on the dual lane, where you can more or less do what you want.

If you think that there won't be a lot of harassment, go for . You should use this if you think that you will need some offensive power to kill enemies faster and easier. Or take my preferred Boots to chase'm down and avoid any skillshots.

If you play defensive, need some HP and armor go for

and if you get a sololane 1v2... get and a and make sure that in any case you have Fortify with you when you play 1v2! you will be towerdived later, although your ulti Dominus heals a lot i swear, you will not regret it!

Well so far for the beginning... now we go back first time and want some damage and CDR i guess. Therefore we build The Brutalizer, providing ArmorPen, AD and some CDR. If we can afford it we buy Ionian Boots of Lucidity but in any case we get Boots. If we have any money remaining we get as much as we can for our Phage (I prefer to start with Ruby Crystal but it doesnt really matter). If you got a sololane make sure that you get Wriggle's Lantern for the useful stats and the free ward you get every 3 minutes.

Now you can choose if you want to build your Youmu's Ghostblade first or if you prefer Frozen Mallet for more suvivability+slow. But in any case these are the first "big" items you purchase, it is definetly your core.

After this you get some Survivability with Sunfire Aegis and Atma's Impaler. You should have about 1.2k bonus HP and that makes.. uhm... 24 AD with Atmas. At least a bit^^ Also get Wit's End, maybe even a bit before the Sunfire cape to stack up MR and make your Ruthless Predator really dangerous.

Now you have full items or even more (dont know if i counted right). I really like Force of Nature for MR, MS and HPregen or a Guardian Angel or Randuin's Omen or what do i know... a Last Whisper for EVEN MORE armor pen^^

Sell Wriggles in late and also wits end if you decide to get a better MR item like Force of Nature.

Summoner Spells

Lets begin with the USEFUL summoner spells (this are mainly 4 to be honest)

VERY USEFUL:

Flash allows you to chase escape thorugh even more walls and a lot more. Basically you can get anywhere in your surrounding. Consider to take it if you do not get ghost..

Due to the sad fact that Renekton is definetly unable to hurt at range, this is quite nice to slow enemies down and come to them for stun. It can also be spend on the guy eating your health bar or at the worst damage Dealer in TF's. Also a spell with pretty much facades. Make sure you skilled Cripple in your masteries.

Some people prefer Ghost over Flash, but it's disadvantage is that slows will definetly make this skill useless, so its escaping power may get quite low, but it is definetly better for chasing than Flash, at least if you dont have a stun ready. But it gives you a tronger chasing power and you already have a charge, so i take this over flash.

Helps you to win your sololane easier and can set up great ganks.

USELESS:

Basically everything else. If you want to troll, i recommend Clarity and Rally, if yo u want you can also take Revive and Smite allowing you to 1 hit creeps (!!) and run around like crazy when dead. Dont do this. :D

Skill Sequence and Skill Usage

Well, on level one you can skill basically anything you want but in order to get Fb you should get Ruthless Predator. In order for agility, get Slice and Dice, and in order to heal yourself for under 40 hp and waste a skillpoint in lv1, feel free to get Cull the Meek.
But on level 2 it is time to get that spell because you want to collect Fury. Place yourself in the middle of a creepwave and 30 fury is yours if you use Cull the Meek properly. Can also be done to heal if you have 50++ fury.
After doing nothing special, you advanced to level 3, congratulations. Now you skill Slice and Dice for better agility and now you can beginn to harass.

There is mainly one combo you have to do: Slice in, stun with Ruthless Predator, damage with Cull the Meek and Dice out to the point oyu came from. Make sure you dont get a stun or a silence, this may take you even more damage than you deal, and i just guess that you dont really want that, do you?
If you want to heal only, collect at least 50 fury and just Cull the Meek. If you want a low harass, jsut do the combo without fury. If you want a COOL harass, collect 100 fury and gogo. Make sure that you NEVER EVER waste fury for Dice.

Max Cull the Meek first. This skill will increase your survivability alot. Go for Ruthless Predator scecond, because it deals most damage of your skills, eespecially when you gained 50+ fury. Slice and Dice only needs one point in the early game because its damage is about zero and the armor reduction that goes along with Dice is also not worth maxing it up early.

As you may have noticed, cooldowns are your enemy. Especially Slice and Dice has a awful long cooldown, so use it wisely, especially in teamfights. (Example: Slice in, activate Dominus, Ruthless Preadator on a squishy carry, Cull the Meek on as much opponents as possible. Now you can [[Dice out if you have HP problems or Dice through as many enemies as possible to reduce some armor and deal a little bit damage. You can also use Dice for chasing). Try to get as much CDR as possible in your items so you can stun more than once in a tf and Slice and Dice at least two times. Activate Dominus when you enter the fight. The aura damage is very underrated in teamfights although it is usually not as good as Nasus ultimate, dealing percentual damage. It will also solve fury problems if you have any, so every attack can be made unter the effect of fury. Especially your Ruthless Predator has to be made with fury because the stun will last much longer then.

Laning and Tough enemies

Well, on the lane you should feel free to feel to spam your skills like a madman, or a madcroc, whatever^^
Slice and Dice around the lane, force your enemis to react on your movements. Use Cull the Meek whenever you can and do Ruthless Predator whenever you can get someone in your range.
Basically spam the combos i told about in the last chapter whenever they are ready.
Especially on a sololane against enemies without hard cc, this is very effective. Well, i go on with your lane-enemies...

Rumble is my main champion and he is a tough sololaner. He can spam even more than you and remind the Flamespitter. It is painful if you stand in the fire while farming or harassing. Try to dodge the fire and make lasthits with Cull the Meek. But Rumble has no ability to heal or recover except his items. He can activate his Scrap Shield but it doesnt absorb a lot of dmg

With the right runes this guy is a very tough enemy. His silence in combination with the DEMACIA-Spin is a really good harass and if he does his job well he might even force you back.

Cho'Gath is another word for sustainability. Each lasthit regens tons of hp. his silence sucks, but you can avoid his Knock-up by Fissure with Slice. But never the less his infinite sustainablity makes him tough.

The key to win Nasus is HARASS,HARASS, HARASS! In earlygame Nasus provides you freefarm and he is almost a freekill. DO NOT LET HIM FARM Siphoning Strike or you are lost. Not only you but your whole team. So whenever he is in range give him sone Ruthless Predator and Cull the Meek.

Hard. As always. Focus on farming, a harass is pointless. If you got less HP than she got, she will stun you and give you even more damage... The only bad point is that she will farm as hell too...

Definetly ugly to play against with all those ghosts and ghouls and ugly flesh-tearers on awful range. But an early gank should solve all problems, becuase Yorick is level-dependant. Just try to farm and don´t get outranged. You should nevertheless be as sustainable as he is, it might be quite balanced.

I heard that Jarvan IV is also a tough opponent, but i lack experience fighting against him tbh.

Never forget that your team is not the only team that is able to gank! Care for early ganks and don´t mind to use Flash if you feel yourself endangered. Being ganked pre-6 makes you lose the lane in any case.
