This is my first ever guide for league of legends, and I decided to start out with a guide for my main champion, Rammus. As you can see by the title, this is a guide for tanking as Rammus. Tanking is the way to play Rammus and there really isn't any other way to play as him.

This guide does not involve jungling in anyway, I prefer laning as Rammus so I never jungle with him.


Please do remember, I am not the best at this game and I will never claim to be the best. I made this guide for fun and will hope to continue to make some in the future. Please give constructive criticism as to why you +1 or -1 and tell me how to improve my guide.

Pros
-Good ganking ability
-Good building destruction
-His taunt is beast Puncturing Taunt
-Nice damage soak, armor increase and magic resistance increase
-Hes a Rollie-Pollie Pokemon
-Hard to kill
-Nice damage for tank

Cons
-Terrible with no mana
-Terrible if silenced

1)
-Start out with a Doran's Shield for early game survivability, some people may suggest getting health regeneration, but this item gives you that little regeneration you need early game as well as some health and armor.

2)
-The 2nd item to buy is usually a pretty obvious one which are the Boots of speed.

3)
-After you buy your boots of speed start building Randuin's Omen, this is a big tanking item and can help out a lot in all parts of the game.

4)
-Now its time for your mercury treads, with the Magic Resist, Tenacity and movement speed they are a must.

5)
-Banshee's Veil is 5th on the list to start building, this will help with 3 of Rammus' main needs which are health, mana and magic resist.

6)
-Now lets add some more armor to out stats by getting sunfire cape, that little armor it adds as well as the health; without forgetting its sick passive, I think this could be a crucial item to buy.

7)
-Now to top it all off with one of the best tanking items in the game, this item has amazing health regeneration and magic resist. It is a rammus must.

My masteries for Rammus are a basic tank setup. I focus a lot on defense obviously with a 0/21/9 build. The 9 in the utility build is used for health/mana regeneration as well as death time reduction and more experience gain.

Most Useful:

-
I use flash as my first spell for a couple of reasons. The main reason is for positioning. Being a tank you need to be into position to prevent the enemies from targeting your team. This spell will help you get into position to taunt the enemy away from your team. It will also help you in chases and getaways.

-
My next spell is usually Ghost. Ghost + Powerball are an amazing chase and escape combination.

Other Possibilities:

-
Although it is not my first recommendation for Rammus, teleport is a possibility because it is helpful for saving your team mates that are on the other side of the map.

-
Exhaust can be a helpful spell for protecting your team mates, since most teams only have one tank it can be a hard job to handle on your own, taking exhaust can reduce there a ability to kill your team mates, as well as making it easier for your team mates to kill them.

My Recommendations:

-Greater Seal of Defense
I suggest taking Greater Seal of Resilience for an armor increase, as a tank armor is what you need, there is no reason not to take these.

-
For your glyph, take the Greater Glyph of Shielding for magic resistance per level.

-
For your quint, it is usually pretty obvious for a tank. Take the Greater Quint of Fortitude for that health boost.

-
I suggest taking this because magic pen is a great tool for Rammus.
