Choose Champion Build:
- JUNGLE
- TOP
- Q TRUCK AP OP
Introduction/Disclaimer
Greetings all, my name is Harrison, my summoner name is Hrsn, and I (sadly) play on the EUNE server. I main jungle and support, but play all positions really.
Check out my Evelynn guide too!
DON'T DOWNVOTE MY GUIDE JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE WARWICK GUIDE OF YOUR OWN :(
I love Warwick, and I just thought I'd share how I build him. I would say I have around a 70% victory rate playing with this build in both jungle and top.
~~~DISCLAIMER~~~
I'm not saying this is the best way to play Warwick - this is my way. Change it up all you want, I'm just throwing out my playstyle into the field.
PROS
- Amazing sustain
- Excellent Infinite Duress for singling out targets
- Ridiculous chasing potential
- Nearly undivable without giving up a kill
- Strong ganks with Infinite Duress up
- Hunters Call steroid means for fast towers
- Tanky jungler
- High burst damage with Infinite Duress and Hungering Strike
CONS
- Weak ganks without Infinite Duress
- Blood Scent can give you away if not used properly
- Single target focus (without Ravenous Hydra)
I use the exact same build, runes, masteries and skill distribution when laning as i do when jungling. This is my Warwick and this is just how I like him. The only difference being I take Hungering Strike first when laning, and Hunters Call first when jungling.
RUNES
My Warwick is quite hybrid, which is why I run the magic pen. marks and ability power glyphs. Move speed quints help him land sneaky Hungering Strikes to poke then enemy, or make his even faster though the jungle. Armour seals help him be naturally a bit more tanky.
MASTERIES
Tankier start Warwick means he can stay in the jungle forever, and gives him a healthy early game feel.
Boots - A speedy Warwick is a scary Warwick, helps with speed in the jungle and harassing in the lane. Upgraded into Mercury's Treads or Ninja Tabi. (Situational).
Sight Ward - I get a sight ward because Warick with blue doesn't need mana pots and Warwick's Q means he doesn't need health pots. I ward wraithes early to try surprise the enemy jungler at their red if I think I can.
Doran's Ring (x2) - Give Warwick that much needed mana regen, ability power which makes his Hungering Strike hit like truck! Also gives some HP, which always makes you feel safer.
Spirit Visage - This item is perfectly made for Warwick (and Dr. Mundo)
Iceborn Gauntlet - Helps with wave clear, Hungering Strike hits even harder, tankiness and you get the Spellblade proc.
Bilgewater Cutlass - Nice lifesteal to go on top of your Eternal Thirst, and your Hungering Strike sustain. make sure you build this before Hextech Revolver!
Hextech Gunblade - THE BEST WARWICK ITEM. Normally by the time I've finished this item - the game's won. Everything is perfect for Warwick. Lifesteal for his basic attacks, spell vamp for his Hungering Strike and Infinite Duress, a slow for catching up if Blood Scent isn't active.
Frozen Heart - Gives you mana, CDR and armour, which is missing from your build until now.
Frozen Mallet - Makes you tanky, and that slow proc along side your speed from Blood Scent
Guardian Angel - If you're dying more than you should, buy a GA. But to be honest, On a Warwick this sustainable - if you're dying, something's going wrong.
Passive : Eternal Thirst - Helps immensely with sustain in the jungle, and when lasthitting in top lane, gives you that edge on survivability.
Q: Hungering Strike - Use this to sustain in the jungle - spam it when you have blue - otherwise try to conserve mana and use it when necessary.
W: Hunters Call - Use this when taking towers, and when going for kills when laning. Spam this with blue buff when jungling - use it when need be without blue.
E: Blood Scent - When jungling, have this turned off, as it gives you away if the enemy is below half health, turn it on for ganking but only when visible to the enemy whose lane you're ganking. In top lane you can keep it on at all times, as it prevents you being ganked by a low jungler, and if you get your laning partner low - you can chase up instantaneously.
R: Infinite Duress - Your ultimate is AMAZING. It offers awesome CC, does damage and heals you with your passive. Use this when ganking as Jungle Warwick, immediately follow it up with a Hungering Strike. As Top Warwick, use your Infinite Duress as your jungler ganks you, or use it followed by a Hungering Strike if you think it's enough to kill your enemy, as this burst damage can be surprising.
Start at Wolves, with help from other lanes, then move on to Blue Buff, use Smite here. Next move to Wraithes, and then to red Buff, starting it when Smite has a 3 second cooldown.
Next take golems - then look to gank bot lane if they're pushed. You should be looking to make your first b with 1000 gold, buy 2 Doran's Rings, and a Sight Ward. ALWAYS BUY WARDS.
From then on, take whatever neutral creeps are up, looking for easy ganks.
When you hit level 6 and pick up Infinite Duress, look to gank again for an easy kill. Gank whenever Infinite Duress is up.
In teamfights, cast Hunters Call to give your team an attack speed buff, make sure Blood Scent is on, and cast your Infinite Duress on the enemy's highest damage dealer - followed up by a Hungering Strike afterwards to negate any damage you may've taken.
