Threats & Synergies
I genuinely don't dislike any matchup with Sejuani, because there is always something you can do against the Jungle champ. If you are against a champ you can't 1v1, then focus on ganking lanes where the enemy jungle cant counter gank, and if you are against a champ you can punish in the jungle, try to, but dont overextend. I guarantee they will underestimate the Sejuani damage, everyone does because only a true Sejuani player knows the champions limits. (She's a tank right she cant do that much damage).
My favourite situation to pick Sejuani in is when the enemy Jungler is an assassin, because it means they wont be able to burst you so you wont really have to worry about where you walk, as long as you aren't over-extending. Providing you aren't behind, Sejuani will win the 1v1 against most assassins.
Rek'Sai is a champ that has a lot of true damage, in her E and conqueror. This is one of the worst matchups you can face as she actually has kill potential on you past level 6. However, if you run away when she tries to fight you, you shouldn't die. You should only die if you try to 1v1 her.
She will make you feel like you aren't even playing a tank. I would recommend that if you see her in champ select, avoid playing a tank at all costs.
Sejuani plays very well with melee champions because it means she can get her E passive on the target easier. Consider this when wondering if you should pick her in champ select.
Champion Build Guide
I think Sejuani is quite a fun champion to play, because I can make enemy junglers wonder what has just happened to them when they get one shot by a tank.
I currently have a %57 winrate on Sejuani (Sorry for clickbait) with a 4.11 average KDA from just under 100 games of solo duo in high platinum. You can check out my op.gg here : Click Here!
I have a twitch account that I try to stream on, if you prefer watching people play the champ instead of reading guides, come watch me play her! A follow would be much appreciated :)Watch Me Play!
I am very new to making guides so please keep your feedback friendly. I have made guides on other Junglers that you can check out here : https://www.mobafire.com/profile/reganakers-888105/content/builds
|Fury of the North (Passive): After being out of combat, Sejuani gains Frost Armor which grants Armor and Magic Resist and immunity to slows. Frost Armor persists for a short time after Sejuani takes damage. Sejuani can damage a stunned enemy to shatter it, dealing massive magic damage.|
Arctic Assault (Q): Sejuani charges forward, knocking enemies into the air. The charge stops after hitting an enemy champion.
Sejuani charges, dealing 80/120/160/200/240 (+40% Ability Power) magic damage to enemies and knocking them up. The charge ends after hitting an enemy champion.
|Winter's Wrath (W): Sejuani swings her mace twice, dealing damage and applying Frost stacks. Sejuani swings her flail, dealing 20/25/30/35/40 (+0) (+0) physical damage and applying Frost to enemies hit and knocking minions and monsters back. She then lashes out with her flail, dealing 30/70/110/150/190 (+0) (+0) physical damage, applying Frost and slowing enemies hit briefly.|
FOCUS (E): Sejuani freezes and stuns an enemy champion that has maximum Frost stacks.
Passive: Nearby melee allied champions' basic attacks apply Frost to enemy champions, large monsters, medium monsters, and large minions.
Active: Target enemy with 4 stacks of Frost takes 40/80/120/160/200 (+60% Ability Power) magic damage, is stunned for 1 second(s), and is briefly displaced.Enemy champions stunned by Sejuanicannot gain Frost for 0 seconds.
Glacial Prison (R):
Sejuani throws her bola that freezes and stuns the first champion hit and creates an ice storm that slows other enemies.
Sejuani throws her True Ice bola that deals 100/125/150 (+40% Ability Power) magic damage to the first enemy champion hit and stuns them for 1 second. The bola becomes more powerful as it travels, dealing 150/250/350 (+80% Ability Power) magic damage, stunning for 1.5 seconds and creating a storm that slows other enemies by 30%. After 2 seconds, the storm deals 150/250/350 (+80% Ability Power) magic damage and slows by 80% for 1 second.
This is the basic route I take:
Red Buff -> Smite Krugs -> Raptors (Hit level 3) -> Look for gank on near lanes -> Blue Buff -> Rift Scuttler -> Look for gank again -> Gromp Wolves -> Recall -> 2nd Spawn Krugs
This pathing is very simple path that will optimise your xp and gold gains in the Jungle. Sejuani is also quite a strong counter-ganker so try to track the Jungler and look to help out the lane he is trying to gank.
You will use your Arctic Assault somewhere in the gank it just depends on the situation. If possible, you want to save it until they dash/flash away, however this is only really possible if you are ganking from the way they want to run. You may need to use it to close the gap at the start of the gank in order to get on top of them. Either way is fine, you will just have more success if you are able to save it until they flash.
After level 6, ganking with Glacial Prison is fairly straight forward, as long as you can hit it. TIP Your ultimate has two different procs. If you throw it and it hits a target right in-front of you, it will only Permafrost them, however if you throw it a further distance it will Permafrost and put down that massive ice field that slows and will blow up to deal damage. I would recommend you hover over your Glacial Prison to see the ranged and would try to stay away from using the close range version if I were you. TIP : You're Glacial Prison can be cast while using Arctic Assault to save the animation time.
If you don't quite understand what I mean, watch the video below to see the differences:
The combo is based around using your Permafrost before you Glacial Prison because this allows you to get double the cc and double the Permafrost damage. This is because hitting an enemy with your ultimate will make them unable to cast Permafrost on as they have recently been affected by it. However if you use Permafrost and then Glacial Prison it will allow you to Permafrost twice instead of once.
A 1v1 combo would look something like this:
Arctic Assault -> AA -> Winter's Wrath -> AA -> Permafrost -> AA -> Glacial Prison -> AA
Watch the videos below to see a full combo done correctly vs done incorrectly. (The damage difference is insane)
As you can see, there is a whole 1000 damage difference by just using your abilities in the correct order. However, I wouldn't recommend using the 1 shot combo in a teamfight as it does mean you will proc the short range Glacial Prison. The slow field and ice damage is huge in teamfights.
