Knowing combos and animation canceling is the bread and butter of Riven, if you can't do both you are screwed. However you can learn them, i'm gonna go over the simple but effective combos you will NEED to MASTER.

Riven's abilities can be shorten, masked or combined. Understand which abilities work into each is always good and can help when comboing.

E R, If you use your E and then your R it masks the R and comes out along with your E, you can also use your Q or W with this too. E R Q(or 3rd Q)
E Flash, Flash can be combined with quite a few abilities in creative ways, E Flash and Q worked well together, Something I personally do a lot is E R F 3rd Q. It can get some insane cc if you time your w after you lane.
R W, R and W give some insane burst people get surprised when they die so quickly but using R straight into W combines the damage. Great for finishing off someone.
E W Q, I will go more in depth on this one later as it's important and harder but still one of the easier required combos.
TIAMAT W, Tiamat and your W have nearly the same cast time meaning you can use Tiamat into W, it gives some great burst and is amazing for split pushing.


I listed off some combos but let me explain them a bit more, after using E you can use 1-2 more abilities in short timing, this allows for some crazy stuff.
I explained Tiamats interaction with W but it can also interact with pretty much everything as long as it is activated first.

The main thing you will be comboing with is your E, this is why Riven became terrible after the Q and E nerfs and she was pretty well reverted to pre buff/nerf.

This combo can improve your DPS by at least 20% everything Riven player needs to master this combo.

Q move Auto Attack Q move Auto Attack Q move Auto Attack.
I suggest you grab a dummy in the practice tool and repeat that until it looks like the video. Once you've mastered it on the dummy moving to normals or bots is a great 2nd step.

This Combo is how you will win almost every fight.

The double cast is an interaction that is unique to Riven, it allows you to cast 2 different spells in the same amount of time.
To preform the doublecast you must use your E, W and Q at the proper times.
E wait .35-.75 seconds (depending on ping) and W Q. You will use the W and Q at the same time. You can use this to proc conqueror extremely easily or trade with it, if you want to trade with shield bash you can instead do. E AA W Q, similar timing just make sure you AA before W Q, this combo does a ton of damage and can take down the scuttle super easily if you want to steal it.
