Not Updated For Current Season
This guide has not yet been updated for the current season. Please keep this in mind while reading. You can see the most recently updated guides on the browse guides page
You have more CC and utility than Garen's shoulder-plates can handle. Just push him out of lane and deny CS. If he is playing super passively taking a few turret shots intentionally can bait him into you, then you can just go ahead and heal it back and pop your combo.
Pantheon
Quite scary, stay under turret and farm. If he dives you lock him under turret with your E + W combo. Keep in mind of his global map presence, he is still the master of mandrop. If he didn't waste W to get on to you under turret he can hop out of your wall with his W.
Kennen
Quite the sneaky Yordle he can easily kill you if he is smart about it. If you see him getting too close and you think you can take him then put your W around him.
Darius
Quite surprising, Yorick is actually considered a counterpick to Darius. It will still be a hard lane however so play safe and beware the dunk.
Tahm Kench
Probably the worst lane for Yorick unless he is shut down early via a Jungle gank. Beware that if he starts W he can throw you under turret early, or spit minions at you. Tahm Kench can suppress you, stun you, poke you, and murder you. He also has global map presence with his ultimate so beware, because he can ult into a bush with the jungler and gank you.
Trundle
Horrible lane for Yorick, his Q steals your AD and executioners calling is a must. Call in a jungler to nuke him early, repeatedly. His passive should also give him health back every time he kills one of your walkers or your Maiden so be wary of engaging on him early. If you can bait out his ult by making it look like your going to all in then you should have a window of opportunity.
Master Yi
Only moderately difficult, watch out, buy bramble vest and upgrade it after Titanic. If he uses his Q on you then place your W on yourself and don't leave until he is visible again.
Jax
Should be a rather easy lane, however, a skilled Jax player can easily outplay you if done correctly. If he wastes his jump on you then trap him with your W and keep in mind that his ult passive can proc on your walkers. Jax can also get a longer stun time on his E if he blocks a lot of damage from your walkers with it.
Tryndamere
Respect his damage or else you will end up paying the price. He will probably rush early crit and attack speed items so play safe until level 6 and understand that his ult has a very low cooldown in comparison to your ult. He can hop out of your W with his E so if you see him waste the spin then take advantage of the situation.
Nasus
Nasus... Can be a bit of a problem. He can stack his Q off of your ghouls so make sure you deny him as much farm as possible. You do however out CC him as far as your slows and W go so make sure if you get him low you lock him down even if you get withered.
Aatrox
Take executioners calling and respect his early level 1-4 damage. Once you hit level 6 make sure you shut him down and don't let him farm back up. Try and be a lane bully if you can.
Akali
Akali can't do much to you before level 6 and keep in mind that she gets a massive power spike once she buys Hextech Gunblade. This will give her lifesteal that synergies well with her passive. If she pops her shroud and is just waiting inside of it for an opportunity to strike lay down your wall directly into the center of it, you will either trap her or send her airborne if she is on the edge. Try to keep a control ward in your pocket if you want vision inside of her shroud.
Teemo
Shut him down earlygame before he gets items, and if he tries to be a lane bully go ahead and heal back the damage with a Q and push him back a lil'. If you really can't do anything about him then ask a friendly jungler for help. You outscale him for most of the game as well and he is very squishy with no reliable way to escape your spooky wall (W).
Yasuo
Both of you have equally strong earlygames, respect his damage and if you can go ahead and shut him down level 4. His strongest moments are levels 1-3 and he makes a comeback at level 6. If you can deny him cs make sure you do it. Keep in mind that he has a decent range and that he can knock you up. If he ults you without immediately killing you then you can heal back some damage with your Q and trap him using your wall, then pop your combo. Keep in mind that he can NOT dash through your wall (even if he can auto it) so it is sort of a cripple against Yasuo. If close enough he can dash out of the wall through a mist walker/minion. He can also ramp up E stack damage off your walkers so don't act like he is too strong against you or too weak either. Dont let him outscale, control the lane, and deny him cs if possible. Poke with walkers, not just a random E here and there. That does very little.
