WTF WHY



Hi Community.


Why the f do i play Taric solotop or jungle.


Mainly because i like to do wierd things. And its just really entertaining to see a tryndamere gets beaten by a pink Taric ^^. All in all it does make alot of fun to play him that way and it will surprise the f*** outta the enemy and youre team.


BTW Taric is not gay thats a real taric ^^

His q which is Imbue . Is a fairly strong heal (60/100/140/200/220 +60% ap heals himself 40% stronger) on a long CD (20/19/18/17/16). But every time Taric hits an enemy champ the CD is reduced by 3 secs.



His w which is Shatter . Is an aura that gives Taric allot of armor(20/30/40/50/60) and ally's half of his amount. If activated Taric "shatters" his diamonds, damaging(60/105/150/195/250 +60&ap) and reducing enemy's armor(10/15/20/25/30) in a small AOE. He looses half the bonus amount if used.



His e which is Dazzle. Is what i like to call "a cold stun" Because it stuns for 1.5 seconds and does Damage(40/70/100/130/160 +40&ap deals up to double if close) it doesn't gets much simpler.



His Ult. Which is really strong even if sometimes not noticed. When Taric uses this ability he nukes a small aoe around him for 150/250/300(+70%ap). After that he gets an AP and AD boost of 30/50/70 and gives ally's half the amount.


FRICK that sounds more like a bruiser

What and why


Taric has alot of choices in terms of runes and masteries. Hes one of the most flexible champs of the league in terms of that. He can be a full tank. He can be pure dps. He can be hybrid. He can be ap.

Offensive toplane

These are my standart runes for toplane taric. I use them for almost every game.
The attack speed is mostly for youre Imbue not for the damage. Ofcourse u do more damage because of it but u can spammheal while fighting aswell.

Mostly if u are the only tank in youre team. Someone needs to be the tank. So might aswell be Taric. I honestly don't like to play that way thou but it works.

If u have someone with allot of armor on top like Malphite. Taric is not really able to do anything against tanks mid-late game so going hybrid means its hard to build against u.
MOST IMPORTANT

Maybe the most important rune for Taric´s base MR is really low so mr/lvl is maybe the most important rune for Taric



Very good on Taric. Attack speed means more damage and more heals while fighting so its an obvious choice.

Even thou u build mostly ad you're base damage on you're ability's is quite high so this helps boosting you're burst.

Basicly thats awesome. You shred allot of armor already now u have armor penetration. And if u build a The Brutalizer its like the enemy has no armor.

Summoner Spells


ALWAYS take



A obvious choice u have no escapes and no gap closer so a nobrainer




Other viable choices


As i said u have no gap closer so that could help u allot in catching up to you're foes. All in all gives u a big mobility boost.



Ignite is more for the getting early kills. mid-late game it is helpful for the heal block if u face a Dr. Mundo this is a must take.



Maybe the strongest summoner next to flash in my mind. Somebody need help? Teleport, Easy kill bot? Teleport, Need to flee? Teleport. Yea very good for u and youre team.

Items


Taric is maybe the most flexible champ in the game. In this guide i Will focuse on ad and tank items thou.

Core items



Maybe my most favorite item for Taric. It gives alot of attack speed to use youre Imbue as often as possible, gives 42 magic damage on hit And allot of MR Absolute core on Taric.



Taric is really prone to CC. Mercury´s help tons of reducing that. And it gives MR which is really important aswell.



Good and viable items



A good item if u want some damage. It also gives attack speed




Thats an early game item it boosts youre damage quite a bit and can counter out some early armor.



One of the best items in the game. Even if you're support already has this how many items give all three defense stats? If u wanna go tanky pick it up.



A good item. but doesnt gives alot of damage the mallet is more a uttility and tank item then an damage item. if u want someone to not run away from u pick it up. and it will make u allot tankier.



A good item for defense and offense. Again taric benefits hugely from attack speed.




Viable if u want to get a better burst. Don't build this if u don't have attack speed already building gunblade first is not a good idea to have it as the third item is.



Great item, Great passive, Great damage And magic resists what more do u want?

I used to build this first if i want to go pure tank after this but im actually not sure about it. Most of the time i build wit's end for a tanky build but feel free to test it yourself




This thing is so troll. Seriously i think its a funny item but not really that viable if the enemy is completely brain dead and u can do whatever the frick u want, then stack these :D.

Just not a good item way to overpriced. And u goal is not to shred tanks you're goal is to get the carry's and the passive doesn't do alot of damage to squyshis.




This thing is pure damage sounds nice right ? NO. If u build that at any point u will lack in defensive stats while building it.

Overall playstyle


Taric is an unique champion to play the toplane role and youre playstyle is complettely up to youre opponent.

This guy can go either way. If u attack him first you're gonna loose if he attacks u first u gonna win


    Tips
    1. Don't be aggresive let him engage on u
    2. Try to shut him down some denie him some farm
    3. Don't try to fight if he has an advantage
    4. Build wit's end first for the MR
This guy is really easy to beat even post 6. You're Shatter gives u allot of armor.



    Tips
    1. Be aggresive he's not gonna beat u 1vs.1
    2. Never towerdive if he's Level 6
    3. Wait with you're stun for his ult
This guy is more evil then diablo himself. U rely allot on auto attacks to do damage Ofcourse Teemo shuts that down.


    Tips
    1. Let him push you in to the towew a gang will kill him if u manage to stun him
    2. Don't ever try to fight him if u cant burst him down
    3. Build Hybrid so u can
Dazzle Shatter him and do dammage.

I got a comment by a reader of my guide. I played against a nunu not long ago and got owned. Nunu has no mana problems do to invision. Has alot of sustain with Consume does alot of damage with iceblast and is really frickin annoying. He will snowball u everytime he can do to youre low magic resist it does almost true damage.

    1. Try to stay away from his iceblast range
    2. Dont try to get close to him to fight him he will slow u down and run away or even ult
    3. Let you're jungler help you
    4. Try to gang mid sometimes u wont get much farm or kills on you're lane

This guy is surprisingly easy. He will try to harrass u but u should have so much armor that he doesn't does any damage. If he hits 2 Razor Shuriken just heal. And he seems prone to cc.
    Tips
    1. Try to get level 2 boots as fast as possible so u can actually do something to him
    2. Feel free to build pure ad damage (first b.f and then zeal)
    3. He snowballs hard keep track of him so he doesn't roams or has no success with it
    4. Flash and shadowjump clears allot of distance dont bother running after him.

Mid-game



Taric is a good midgamer look for smaller fights youre skillset is excellent for 2v2s or 3v3s. You're Imbue heals you and an ally at the same time. You're Shatter shreds armor in an aoe. You're Radiance bursts and boosts you're team by quite alot.
You're normal combo is
1. Radiance 2. Shatter 3. Dazzle 4. Imbue, Imbue, Imbue, Imbue, Imbue, Imbue. Spam you're Imbue as much as possible when u have around 1.5 Attack speed that means every 5 seconds autoattacking u can heal an ally while healing yourself.

Gang as much as possible


You have a fairly long stun in youre Dazzle so gangin i really easy to do. And u can towerdive quite easy because of you're Shatter. If u plan on diving thou don' use shatter u will need the extra armor to tank the turret.

Lategame


This is the phase of the game where u start to fall. In this start to fall off. You're damage starts to get low you're heal starts to weaken. So stay in the front try to flank the carry's so u can stun them. In this state of the game you are a tanky body that stands in the front and does a bit of damage (still enough to be scary for the carry's). But u have allot of pickoff potential if a carry is not good positioned u stun him and he's dead, if you're team follows.

PROS

    1.Great Gangs
    2.Good sustain
    3.A jungling tank
    4.Is outrageous

Cons

    1.Almost no damage
    2.Can't initiate really well
    3.Magic damage really hurts without items(wit´s end)
    4.Fairly slow

Route and gangin

Taric needs a normal blue route.
Normally i start gangin at LVL 4. Tarics gangs are really nice especialy if you're laner does damage or has a disable himself. Open up with youre Dazzle try to get as close as possible before using youre stun if the enemy is pushed to you're tower walk up the lane first and stun as close as possible.

Build Changes



First of all as jungler i like to go the tank way. You're teammates have more use of the kills then u. because the jungler doesn't get as much farm as a laner so u can try all u want u will never have enough money to build noticable damage.
Taric is crazy tanky if u build him that way.

Summary

All together Taric is a real fun to play in roles that he isnt meant for. And finding out that he works extremely well at it. Im still a total N00B in writing guides so pls comment and criticize i appreciate ever one. I will be updating this guide frequently.
