Introduction

Hi and welcome to my first guide.
In this build, i mainly focus on a Tanky Volibear with some damage output thanks to the Atma's Impaler. The items i think that are a must buy are the Atma's Impaler, the Warmog's Armor and the Shurelya's Battlesong mainly.

One of my best score with this build was:

Runes

I choose the Greater Mark of Attack Speed because it combines very well with Frenzy .

Next, i choose the Greater Seal of Armor so that you take less damage from Attack Damage and from Ability Power early game.

My glyph are Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reduction for some cooldown reduction.

For Quintessence's, i choose Greater Quintessence of Health for a good start in health early game.

Masteries

In masteries, i put a point in Summoner's Wrath because it's an incredible offensive masterie, thats helps you with kills.

The points in Defense are for that tank feel that i show in this build. The rest goes for Utility so that you can stay in your lane for more time thanks to the mana regen. (Always try to control your mana)

Pros / Cons

Pros:
+ Life Saving Passive
+ Pretty Tanky
+ Great Jungler
+ Great at Ganking
+ Decent Damage
+ Is a bear!

Cons:
- Easy to gank at low levels
- Hard to farm early
- No real escape ability ( Thundering Smash makes you faster only if you run TOWARDS your enemy champ)
- Bad AP ratio

Items

For items, i start with a Regrowth Pendant to start stay in-lane for more time, and then get Philosopher's Stone, for better stats. Next i start to aim for Mercury's Treads, to get Tenacity. Next, i start to get my health items, starting with a Warmog's Armor and then going for the Atma's Impaler, just to start to get some damage. Next is the Shurelya's Battlesong for it's Active and to get extra damage from the Atma's Impaler. Next is the Force of Nature for great health regen thanks to it's Passive. The last item is Randuin's Omen because it's a great item that Tanks should, since it has a great Active that let's you get away, in case of being chaced, and that let's you get to your enemys faster if they are running away without using your Thundering Smash.

Optional items:
Thornmail in case they have a lot of AD carrys
Banshee's Veil if the enemy team as a lot of caster
Guardian Angel gives you magic resist, armor and so that in a teamattack, you have better chances to survive
Frozen Mallet makes you stick to targets, and gives you that extra health.
Frozen Heart for cooldown reduction and for the decrease of the enemies attack speed
Sunfire Aegis for health and extra armor

Summoner Spells

For summoner spells, i choose Flash as an escape tool and Exhaust, so that you have a greater chance to get kills, even if fighting a stronger champion, and also, because of cooldowns.

Flash can be traded for Ghost, if you think that it works better, but if you get the Shurelya's Battlesong, you already get a kinda of Ghost because of the Active.

Exhaust can be traded for Ignite if you prefer to be able to finish off your opponents if they are able to get out of your range. Ignite is mainly good when you are using your Stormbringer

Teamfights

In teamfights always try to disrupt their carry so they focus you until your team has killed them all.
Thundering Smash: Use this to throw the squishys into your team.
Frenzy : Make sure you always have 3 stacks in a fight and don't be afraid to help out against the carry.
Sky Splitter: Disrupt their team
Stormbringer: Use it on the squishys you throwed as fast as it's team is in range and you will deal massive damage.

If you take their carry down, they will either back-off, or try to get a kill, your team will just be able to get free kills. If you are in a teamfight, you should always go for the AD Carry, if not, your team can focus their Tank and their Carry will take you out one by one.

Summary

With this build, i hope you get and keep getting some great scores with Volibear.
