build anti heal early, play around his cooldowns, try to avoid fighting him in his R
Akali
bone plating might be useful here, oracle too. don't fight if you're both at 60% health or lower (or only you), if you can commit if she used her shroud.
Ambessa
Use W to gap close, then just stack with autos, only Q if you already have full stacks or she will disengage, use E to reopen the fight and extend the trades, never to start fights.
Aurora
there is no real counter play. buy doran's shield + second wind and oracle and try to farm by going in bush and only stepping out if you want to get some farm. before lvl 6, if she's in E range, hook her. if she vanishes, use ghost + oracle to chase. after lvl 6, it doesn't matter if you somehow manage to gap close her, she can always disengage with ult. you might as well go hexdrinker, mercs and stridebreaker.
Camille
If she tries to W poke, use your Q to even out the trade or grab her and do a quick trade before she disengages. if she's already in melee range, just stack and slow with W, hook her back into the fight when she uses E. She will outscale you in side lane, so be careful.
Cassiopeia
Build slow resistance and quick silver sash, if you fully engage, try to dodge her Q's so her E dps is halved.
Cho'Gath
Easy to bully early on, but can be annoying once his cooldowns get lower and he gets tanky, you can build things like black cleaver, titanic, hullbreaker, and cull if he starts to deny your bullies.
Dr. Mundo
second wind > bone plating here, stay behind wave, get his passive shield with E if he steps forward, deny him access to the wave. Jungle pressure is really helpful in this matchup, once he gets warmogs and has enough health for warmogs passive, it's over.
Fiora
this is just about matchup experience, it's all about predicting eachothers key abilities, try to only ult her when you managed to E her and have full stacks. Try to get lane lead, she will outscale you in side lane.
Gangplank
His poke is nasty, but when he Q's , he can't move, so once the Q animation starts, immediately turn and hook him. Destroy is barrels and you're good to go. Hard lane and he outscales you, manageable in lower ranks, nightmare matchup in higher ranks.
Garen
Just deny him cs and xp, if he steps forrward, stack and slow, then grab him back into you. If he wants to quick trade with Q + E + AA ---> phase rush disengage, you want to use W on him once he commits, step out of his spin range, then hook him back when his spin stops and use W when phase rush procs. You will harshly snowball and make it unplayable for him if played correctly, but his late game is better than yours and he has high kill pressure, so if he had a good trade and you're both at ~60% health, don't fight him.
Gnar
Don't step behind him, only commit if his mega gnar is far from proccing. go for doran's shield + second wind.
Gragas
easy in low elo, hard in high elo. try to get a lead early and try to predict his E with yours. He's good at forcing short trades with phase rush disengage, but once you get to extend a trade, he's dead or has to waste sums.
Gwen
Free lane, but you get hardly outscaled. If you play it correctly, you snowball hard. Deny cs and xp, extend trades and punish mistakes. Going out even in lane means losing, so you have to play aggressive.
Heimerdinger
No counter play, just play around jungle pressure, and get the farm you can without losing too much hp. Use your Krugs/Grump as a heal with Q after he poked you.
Illaoi
Who ever wins the lane wins hard. Stand behind minion wave. AA + W if she W's on the wave. If you dodge her E, you should be able to fully commit, even with her ult, but you need anti heal.
Irelia
This is a very unique matchup because this one is a lane bully vs lane bully matchup, but Irelia has generally a stronger early game than Darius and a weaker late game than Darius. Don't fight her when she has full stacks or is about to hit them, zone her off the wave. If she steps forward, stack. Use E + Q to secure outer Q heal + damage. Rush Bramble Vest.
Jax
This is basically the definition of a skill matchup, you win lane slightly, but he outscales. Harder in low elo, but manageable in high elo. If he engages with Q + E, use E to deny his counter strike end reengage with the slow.
Jayce
Just get the farm you can and avoid poke, don't fight when you are both on lower health, play around his weapon changes.
K'Sante
Also a skill matchup, but I think it's slightly Darius favoured. Don't underestimate him and respect his repositioning angles. Try to extend trades.
Kayle
Tricky matchup, you have to win lane hard, after she hits lvl 6, she already becomes annoying to deal with. Full ms + slow resistance here. Use E + R to deny her ult. In low elo, this matchup is a nightmare and a good ban, but in higher elo it's manageable.
Kennen
ms and mr is key here, stridebreaker necessary, don't fight if you're both on low health.
Kled
tricky lane, but once you get ult you are favoured in side lane. His ult is dangerous in teamfights.
Malphite
Rush Black Cleaver and try to bully him in lane.
Maokai
Use the anti tank options I mentioned.
Master Yi
Save your E to secure outer Q with E + Q.
Mordekaiser
Pre 6 you can bully him, but afterwards it gets tricky. You might want to go Hexdrinker.
Nasus
Most people would say this is an easy matchup, I'd disagree. A good Nasus will just stack with what he gets and max out W. After he maxed out W, he can secure way more stacks and will get dangerous. Build slow resistance.
Olaf
Pre lvl 6, pretty easy. Afterwards, just play like you would normally. If he ults, use ghost to space him, then reengage.
Ornn
Go Cull and Hullbreaker. You can't force a lead out of lane, so just take the plates with Hullbreaker you can get.
Pantheon
Nasty lane, if he uses his stacks for his E, he will always deny your engages and poke you with Q, so go Doran's Shield + second wind. When you want to secure R, flash behind him or use E + R.
Quinn
Try to predict her E with yours. Flash behind her for full commit.
Renekton
Always have a distance a bit farther than one of his E's if his E is up. His ult is dangerous.
Rengar
deny his bush plays and watch out for jungle pressure.
Riven
If Riven plays it clean, you can't really do anything, she will always trade you and disengage and full commit if you're in kill range.
Rumble
easier in low elo, harder in high elo. go with hexdrinker and play around his overheat.
Ryze
Play for jungle pressure
Sett
Play safe in lane, he will definitely win trades. Try to play around mid game teamfights and if you want to ult him, deny his W shield with E + R, or use E + Q if you want to secure outer Q heal + damage.
Shen
Easy lane, but he will always have more map impact with his R.
Singed
Deny his proxying
Sion
Very easy matchup, especially from lvl 3 onwards. Just stack passive and stick to him. Interrupt his Q with your E, stand behind him if he has ult up (he will still ult inbetween your turret 1 and 2, but it's still better that way.
Swain
His low cooldowns make him annoying, but one E with good sticking can kill him, buy anti heal.
Tahm Kench
Stand behind wave. Once you hit stridebreaker, he can't really do anything. You can force fights and extend them. If he has full stacks and wants do Q + W for stun + disengage, use E while he Q's. Don't go too far if he has full stacks and R up.
Teemo
If you hook him, use the cc for AA + W. When he blinds you, use Q. Go for oracle too.
Trundle
Just deny him cs and xp, don't let him snowball or side lane. If you somehow fall behind, it becomes unplayable.
Tryndamere
You always win extended fights and your passive bleed kills him after his ult. If he ults, use E and run. keep stacks on him so they don't run out when his ult is over.
Udyr
Deny cs and xp.
Urgot
Deny his E engages with flash, only face him to one side to deny his passive.
Varus
No counter play, you even lose melee fights.
Vayne
No counter play, she wins lane hard and outscales extremely. Niche tip: Go for Night's Edge and then full engage with flash + W + ghost, she can't push you away.
Viego
Deny cs and xp, force extended fights, don't fight on low health.
Volibear
Hard in low elo, manageable in high elo. Spacing is key here, once he uses E, you can engage.
Warwick
Easier lane but he outscales in side lane. use E + Q or E + R to secure full heal/damage.
Wukong
His kit is basically designed vs you, good short trades, no counter play disengage, high burst. Your only chance window is pre lvl 3.
Yasuo
Free lane, don't let him outscale. Hook him when uses tornado to deny his R.
Yone
Most people think this is Darius favoured, but in my opinion it's a skill matchup. You win lane hard, but he also outscales hard, and once he hits infinity edge he's harshly favoured because he go movement speed, burst, dps, mobility and free disengage. Easier in low elo, harder in high elo.
Yorick
Really hard matchup, his W denies your ult if he's outside of the cage because your ult is a leap. His ghouls and R with his E just constantly harasses you. Once he has ult, you lose full commits.
Zaahen
He has a weak early game and you both want extended trades, but your ult denies his passive reset.
