Hello! My name is ProTaMaka (EU west account) but you can call me makapromaka. This is my 2. guide on mobafire. Here you will learn more about Vayne as champion, her abilities, masteries, runes and all other things that you need to became better Vayne Player.

Who is Vayne? Why Vayne?

Who is Vayne?

Vayne is ranged attack damage carry made for hard hitting opponents with true damage and armor penetration. She is really hard to kill if you are fighting with other ranged attack damage carries because she has Tumble so she can easlly dodge oponents abilites with and do really nice damage. Also Vayne has Silver Bolts passive ability that gives bonus damage on 3 hit on same target. This is really cool anti tank and anti offtank ability because it is doing true damage in % of opponenet health points. Vayne is champion that need good position in terain because she has Condemn ability that need walls to hit target in it to get maximal damage with stun. Also it is cnocking opponents back. Vayne maybe have low base movement speed but here is passive Night Hunter to get that movement speed when we are moving to opponents. It can also be used to check brush because we will get bonus movement speed when we are going to our opponents. And Final thing is ulty what makes Vayne to be Vayne. Final Hour is Greate ulty that gives bonus attack damage, stealth when we use Tumble and triple movement speed for Night Hunter when it is actived.

Why Vayne?

If you have played Ashe before as your first attack damage carry Vayne is perfect champion for you. If enemy team have tank or off-tank you cant miss in choice because Vayne has true damage ability what is killing opponent so hard in % of their health points. Next she can easily dodge any Terrain speel or any AoE spells with roll ability what makes here really strong to escape from any damage. She moves really fast because of her passive.

Wayne Fast-movement carry guide

At start I buy Boots of Speed because it will be upgraded in stronger boots and it gives really nice movement speed for start what is important to escape, to kill opponent because it will give us more power because of Night Hunter and Tumble. Other option is Doran's Blade but you will not have that movement that you will get from Boots of Speed.
With Boots of Speed I take 3x Health Potions for Health points regen what I will 100 % need because as longer I stay in lane, more I will get more XP and more money. Other option is 2x Health Potions and 1x Mana Potion if you really need more mana but when you use your abilities you will only use it on enemy champions, not on minions because you need all mana that you can get.

At first recall we buy Berserker's Greaves for more movement speed and more attack speed what we need so hard on start. Attack speed is important for safer last hitting and faster pushing and it helps a lot in 1 vs 1 fights. Those are my favorite boots.
Next item is Zeal. It gives us more attack speed, critical chance and movement speed that is so important. Zeal only cost 1175 golds what isnt so much because it gives greate status and we will upgrade it into Phantom Dancer later.

Now when we have critical chance we can get more chasing power. For that I choose Enchantment: Furor because it gives 12 % movement speed every time when we hit opponent for 2 seconds and we dont have to buy Enchantment: Alacrity because we have our Night Hunter for movement.
Next we upgrade our Zeal into Phantom Dance to get more critcial chance, more attack speed and nice passive with what we can walk trought minions what is so greate because it gives us option to stop our opponent AD carry to last hit because we can hit him every time when he try to finish minion. Really good item for any attack damage carry.

Now we need sustain in lane or fight so we need lifesteal and Vampiric Scepter is perfect item for it. 10 attack damage and 10 % lifesteal is so good for 800 gold and it will later be upgrade it into The Bloodthirster for maximal sustain.
Then we buy The Brutalizer because of levels our opponents get some armor so we must reduce their defense with armor penetration. So perfect item for us is The Brutalizer. It gives everything what we need. Damage, armor penetration and little Cooldown reducation.

Now is time to get The Black Cleaver. Nice damage, some health points, cooldown reducation, armor penetration and greate passive what is 25 armor enetration when stucked 4 times on opponent. So good way to hurt our opponents even more and really good item vs tanks and off-tanks.
Finaly The Bloodthirster for maximal sustain damage. Helps so much in lane because our support player dont have to heal us so much so we bolt get help from lifesteal. Really good item.

At later game we need tenacity but we dont have to buy tanky items for it because here is new item Zephyr that gives tenacity too. Also it gives 10 % more cooldown reducation and movement speed plus 20 attack damage, 50 % attack speed and 35 % tenacity. This item safed me so much times in teamfights if enemy team do hard CC on me.
And last item is to finish our maximal damage Infinity Edge. It gives a lot of damage, critical chance and 50 % more critical damage. So good item to finish our build.

Greater Mark of Armor Penetration
As my marks I choose Greater Mark of Armor Penetration because Armor Penetration means more damage and there is no really much items that gives armor penetration and we can build damage so I dont choose Greater Mark of Attack Damage. Also we have The Black Cleaver in build so those marks will stuck really good.
Greater Mark of Armor Penetration

Greater Seal of Armor are my favorite seals for Vayne because in ranked games are usually realy hard so for start is good to have that flat armor from Greater Seal of Armor. You can choose Scaling armor Seals if you want. Bolt of them are good for Vayne, only thing is what you want to choose, more power at start or more power at end. I will stay at flat armor seals.

Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist are glyphs same as seals, looking for as much as possible magic resist what you can get in games. Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist best Glyphs for Vayne, dont choose flat magic resisence. We need that magic resist. You can change it in attack speed Glyphs if you want but I think that it isnt really good idea because we will have a lot of attack speed in build.

Now I choose Greater Quintessences of Movement Speed for more movement speed at start because movement speed is one of the most important status in game. 4.5 % movement speed will now give us more power because base movement speed is increased by 25. Also our movement speed is really low so this will make us move little more faster.

I choose 21/9/0 masteries for maximal damage and some defense with scaling Health Points.

Mastery Explanations


Fury 4/4 cool 4 % attack speed at start helps little when you are jungling our laining.
Deadliness 4/4 gives 12 attack damage at level 18.
Weapon Expertise 1/1 gives 8 % armor penetration what is good for fighting 1 vs 1, 8 % armor penetration = opponents have 8 % less armor when you are fighting vs them.
Havoc 3/3 gives 2 % more damage what is so good.
Brute Force 2/2 gives 3 flat attack damage for stronger last hitting.
Lethality 2/2 gives 5 % critical strike damage.
Frenzy 1/1 gives 10 % bonus attack speed every time we land critical hit.
Sunder 3/3 gives 6 bonus armor penetration.
Executoner 1/1 gives 5 % more damage to opponents that have less then 50 % health points left.

Durability 4/4 gives 108 health pionts at level 18.
Hardiness 3/3 cool 5 armor at start for stronger start.
Resistance 1/3 cool 2 magic resist at start for stronger start.
Veteran's Scars 1/1 gives 30 health points to stay longer in fight.

Those masteries are best for attack damage carries because when you are attack damage carry you need to do as much damage that you can so we put 21 mastery into Offencive mastery tree and those last 9 we put in Defensive mastery tree because we need little more health points because health points are really low on Vayne. XD

Greate Pros / Bad Cons

Greate Pros:
+high early game burst
+One of the best champs in the game
+Devastating carry at late game
+The best hard counters to tanks/tanky dps
+Lanes extraordinarily well vs melee champions
Bad Cons:
-Really squish
-Hard to play vs champs with longer range
-If focused really quick killed
-Tumble doesn't go trought walls
-short attack range

What about Twisted Treeline?

Well TT is smaller map then SR but there is some difference. In TT you earn more money at start so you can build boots faster, in TT is larger mana regen, you get more money and there is no any wards what is cool. You can easly gank opponents and fast move trought map. Only important thing is to have map control so your opponents cant get to Altars that you captured so your team can easly win on money making. All other things are same as SR.

Skill Sequence and Tips

Vayne skills

Night Hunter is Vaynes passive ability that gives bonus 30 movement speed every time when you are moving opponent champion. Range is 2000 what gives you more space to know where is your opponent.

Tip for Night Hunter

Tumble status:
Cooldown: 6/5/4/3/2
Cost: 40
Range: 250

Tumble is our Q ability that is doing 30/35/40/45/50 % bonus damage with next attack that we land. Also it is our roll ability so we can use it to close up to opponent, dodge opponents abilites or to just run away.

Tip for Tumble

Silver Bolts is our W ability and it is passive ability. On every 3 hit on same target we do 20/30/40/50/60 bonus damage plus 4/5/6/7/8 % of targets maximal health points as true damage what is so good to clear tanks and off-tanks.

Tip for Silver Bolts

Condemn status:
Cooldown: 20/18/16/14/12
Cost: 90
Range: 450

Condemn is E ability that is doing 45/80/115/150/185 physical damage to our opponent and knocking it back for 900 range. If target hit in terrain damage is doubled and target is stuned 1.5 second.

Tip for Condemn

Final Hour status:
Cooldown: 70
Cost: 80

Final Hour is our R ulty ability. It gives 25/40/55 bonus attack damage, bonus movement speed from Night Hunter is tripled, we get 1 sec stealth when Tundle is actived and it lasts 8/10/12 seconds. Ulty is so greate.

Here is how I upgrade my skills:

First 3 Levels:
[*] Tumble at level 1 for dodgin and damage.
[*] Silver Bolts at level 2 for more damage and true damage.
[*] Condemn at level 3 for wall stun and knock back.

First skill what I am maxing is Tumble.
Then I am maxing Silver Bolts with respect to Final Hour.
I am using every point on ulty Final Hour when I can (level 6, 11, 16).
Then last I am maxing Condemn because it isnt really much important as other abilites.

Summoner's Spells

I choose Ignite and Flash for my summoner spells. First lets do thing with Flash. Flash is best summoner spell in my opinion because it can be used in 2 ways. Offencive and Deffensive. Flash is used in teamfights for lets say "to save your head" if enemy team start to focus you. You just Flash back and your support will healed you back if you are realy low and if you fight in mid you can jump in jungle to closest wraths to get health points back becouse of Warwick Greate sustain. Now Ignite. It is really good summoner speel because it is used to change 1 vs 1 fight on our way with reducing oponents healing and true damage what will give us more power. Just greate spell.

As every summoner spell Ignite is really good. We can use it to fear our opponents sometimes or to finish running opponent. It can be changed with Exhaust if you want to have that damage but in teamfights Exhaust mean a lot and it can be used to finish ganking. Also you can safe someone with Exhaust.

Well what can I say about Exhaust. It is really good summoner spell. It will help you so much in firts blood and it helps a lot in ganking becouse if your opponent use Flash it is perfect time to use Exhaust on him. If he use ability to jump or teleport like Ezreal or Tristana you have to use your ulty to catch them. In 1 vs 1 fights you can change fight on your side by using Exhaust on them becouse of damage, movement and deffence reducation.

Flash So good summoner spell. It is used to run away, finish someone or change team fight becouse if 1 player die in fight whole fight is changed. Flash is really good because you can teleport trough walls. I think that everyone need to have Flash as one of summoner spells because it really helps.

Smite is good Summoner Spell if you are going to be jungler. Well if you are going to be jungler you must have it. Smite is really good summoner spell if you need to steel Baron, Dragon or Vilemaw from enemy team so it can give you more gold for your team and really nice buff.

Ghost is preety good summoner spell for every champion. It can be used to run away and safe yourself from other opponents or it can be used to chase opponents to kill them easly. But problem is that Ghost isnt so effective in team fights because you can only waste your movement speed. Really good speel on start to get firts blood but not good in late game. I would choose Exhaust instead of Ghost because you can run away easly or kill your opponent. And Exhaust helps a lot in late game.

Dont use those Summoner's Spells

I never use those Summoner's Spells because they are not good for Warwick. Well I dont see many peoples that are using those Summoner's Spells because they dont really gives us what we want. Clairvoyance, Clarity and Heal are spells that can be used but they are made for support players. So what every you have in mind that can be good combination try it first on Custom Game before going into PvP because maybe you can think in wrong way or if you dont know english really well you can missunderstand what can do every Summoner's Spells. I am example for that because in my firts game I used Smite because I thought that it can damage champions. XD Use your Summoner's Spells smart.
