By Tudes

Heyooo!

Welcome to my in-depth guide on how to play Nunu & Willump!

My name is Tudes, also known as Muțunache on EUW. I have been playing them since their rework and from playing them until now, I have achieved 250 LP in EUW in S14 first split and consistently play around there whilst facing Master players.

I also work with a content creator, who is a Coach/Analyst, named Virkayu! If you see a random Nunu&Willump in his videos, that's because it is MEEEEEEEEE!

What you can expect from this guide:

Knowledge transferable in between Seasons/Splits and potentially champions as well!

Hopefully help you become a better jungler whilst also learning how Nunu & Willump work!

Builds/Runes explanation and more!

Maaybe make you play Song of Nunu as well, who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Disclaimer: I will refer to the champion as them since it's Nunu AND Willump :3c

According to the LoLWiki, Nunu & Willump are an offensive-supportive tank (Vanguard) that prioritizes putting themselves and their team ahead through openning opportunities, push the map to their advantage and be really good at: securing/pressure objectives and peel for his win conditions.

Pros:

+ Healthy Clears
+ Can full clear before Scuttle spawns at 3:30 for both Red/Blue starts
+ Unique and really good Gank paths
+ One of the best securing objective champion(s) in the game
+ Good at peeling yourself and also your allies from the enemy team.
+ Adaptable Jungling playstyle

Cons:

- The Squishiest Tank in the game due to his mechanics (Reference)
- Not good at duels Early, at least not before having items.
- Their engages can be telegraphed
- can be dodged or interrupted often
- Without , your ganks will be sub-par

His abilities are as follows according to the LoLWiki again:

Ok, so you want to know how to clear properly in general? Here, let me guide you through some of the stuff I have learned whilst clearing on a lot of champions not just on Nunu & Willump but on a lot of champions like Karthus, Viego, Kindred etc. .

- Each time you do damage, the Pet will do 2 ticks of true damage for the whole camp.

- The Damage of the Pet scales with a bunch of bonus and total stats. If you take HP flat, which gives you 65 hp, you will do more damage in your first clears thus putting you on an advantage if the enemy does not have such a rune.

-Each time a camp autos, you have a window to move away from the camp, otherwise if you auto and move away while the camp is doing the attack, the camp will stand still and you will have to wait for the animation to finish and then see it going towards you.

FULL CLEAR STARTING BLUE | 1 SMITE

BREAKDOWN OF THE CLEAR:

Here, you auto the buff to proc . Then as soon as you are about to be damaged.

Then you stand still and auto for a bit until the Buff autos you 2/3 times.
As soon as he is going to hit you on the 2nd or 3rd time, you kite towards the next camp THEN PRESS S (the stop button) and continue auto-ing.
Repeat the process until you stand a bit near the Patience circle. Refer to the image on the left.

As soon as you will use , DO and move towards Gromp as the Pet will finish the Buff off.

At Gromp, you evolve , auto as usual until at around 2nd as soon as Willump gets to root , go towards Wolves. The Pet will finish the like it did for Blue.

For Wolves, you try to position yourself and the Wolves in a straight line so that hits everyone, you might not get them all often, but I wouldn't worry this much as long as you have hit the majority of the volleys.

For Red Side, you take 2nd point in . Then continue as usual with proper kiting like it was explained earlier. Abuse the trick of Pets last hitting the camps and Voilla!

FULL CLEAR STARTING RED| 2 SMITES

BREAKDOWN OF THE CLEAR:

Since you are starting Red, you don't have to kite towards Krugs but you want to go back a bit.

After you take the Red, evolve THEN towards Krugs. The reason why you don't want to kite towards Krugs is because of how works. Since you are in for more, you will do more damage to the Krugs thus getting more value from the ability alone instead of going into the Krugs and have the most minimal damage possible.

towards the Raptors. Auto the big raptor but also angle yourself so that hits all the little chickens as well.

towards the Krugs as soon as it's off cooldown. Kite towards Gromp. DON'T USE YET!!

Walk towards the Gromp. As soon as you are in front of the camp, THEN in a quick section.
