Introduction

here's a sample of one of my games with this build
http://s1296.beta.photobucket.com/user/Jamie_Seals/media/Untitled_zpsed916ad3.png.html?sort=3&o=0

our Nocturne out preformed me in kills by 5 however my contribution to team fights was much greater in many cases I was able to turn the tides with my ult.

nice game I'm only one death more than our LeBlanc who was fed to death by their alkali

This was a slightly off game to show you our positions.

Solo top= me vs Shaco
Jungle= Nocturne vs Amumu
mid= LeBlanc vs Akali
bot= Lulu and Garen vs Taric and Tristana

Garen played tanky but took the farm while Lulu played classic support. It went well but needless to say there were no kills without nocturne and trist ended up being fed in the end.

Top lane went very well for me; shaco almost got me in the first with toy trap but I brought him down to half health and escaped to finish him a few mins later. I reached lvl 6 before he reached 5 and killed him a second time near the turret (I almost had him a third time but he poofed). tops tower fell before 7 min and I helped finish both bottom and mid.

Late game they started to catch up a series of bad turet dives by our team had backfired on us and ended up prolonging the game for nearly 20 mins longer than it should have been.

Ad vs tank

As you read this guide its important to know that the section 2 build (tanky kong) is my tried and true season two build where as section one is my experimental season three build (not yet completed). To all those who read this please note the better build is tankier and that I'm open to suggestions on my ad build.

Pros and Cons

It should be said that the tanky build is my tried and true season 2 build it has proven to be more effective in late game than my current build however with the new season three item changes I've started working on a more ad heavy Wukong. When using my new season 3 build note that the build is only set up to frozen hammer and the rest is just suggestion. I am constantly working to improve this build to where it is as viable as my tankier season 2 build build.

Runes

Runes

Precision
Lethal Tempo
Phase Rush

Wukong benefits greatly (Particularly in the early game) From armor penetration; however the runes begin to become less effective towards the mid and late games but we will make up for this with Last Whisper and Black Cleaver. In addition I use defense seals to help buff him against his top lane opponent. Finally I use crit strike seals; why? Because they go with my adc rune page and I like them if you want substitute scaling magic resist in or whatever you like.

Skill Sequence/ Skill usage

Now, we come to the most important piece of this guide. Lets talk about Wukongs abilities.
Crushing Blow: This is one Of Wukong's most damaging moves and is best used in sequence with Nimbus Strike. This ability does three things first, it does extra damage too a single foe, Second It lowers the targets armor; combine that with your armor Penetration and the enhanced speed from Nimbus Strike you can do some major damage to an a foe over the course of four seconds.

Warrior Trickster: Though we don't focus on this ability at all during our skill sequencing it is without a doubt Wukong's most important ability. This ability turns you invisible for 1.5 seconds leaving a damageable (non-controllable) decoy in your place. Will go over how to use this fantastic ability later in the guide.

Nimbus Strike: Our most focused ability and Wukong's Staple ability. This is a blink ability that targets a foe and launches Wukong on a cloud towards his foe dealing area damage to the people around him. In addition it also increases your attack speed greatly for four seconds.

Cyclone: Wukong's Ult. a very powerful ability that deal massive damage over the course of a few seconds in the form of a spinning ability similar to Garen's Sword Dance. In addition it launches foes upward for a few seconds making it a very powerful tool for team fights and flank ganking turret siegers.

Summoner Spells

Flash: A blink ability that moves you a few Lengths away from your current position; anyone who's Familiar with LoL will know this is a very powerful ability that can be used for escape as well as chasing. When chasing an opponent you should wait for them to use their flash before using yours even though their ahead of you now you can catch up to them with Nimbus Strike and finish them off.

Ghost: Increases your speed and lets you avoid unit collisions as with flash this ability is used for escape and chasing; however I recommend using ghost for chasing and flash for escaping if you are given the choice.

Ignite : true damage and reduced healing enough said. There's no better feeling than watching someone get away only to drop dead from ignite.
Et. Al.: If you have a favored spell such as exaghst you can swap it in for ghost but i do recommend you use ignite in all games.

Items

You have no idea how in love I am with this new Black Cleaver because it fits in perfectly with Wukong. The early health cdr and armor pen makes it an absolutely perfect for Wukong; in combination with you Q and runes you will practically be doing true damage at level 6-12.

What not to get

NEVER GET berserker grieves you're not An adc you don't need attack speed your ult does your dps. If You're trying to go toe to toe with an adc you're going to get your *** handed to you; pop you combo then ult you're done send him home.

Pretty much avoid any attack speed items; yes you could make Wukong into an adc if you wanted but much like hybrid twisted fate somethings there are just some things you just shouldn't do.

Why I don't use trinity force \ double dorans

Trinity Force is quiet possibly my least favorite item in the game. It's expensive, it gives a large range of mediocre stats that can put you well behind everyone else who decided to specialize. The most beneficial aspects of trinity force to Wukong are the phage and sheen parts ( however they don't hold enough merit to justify its price).

dorans blade is a decent starting item (I don't ever use it but I certainly don't begrudge any one who does) however due to season three updates it should NEVER be purchased outside your initial gold. In season two it was almost viable (not really but you could get away with it) due to its small life steal purposes and cheap nature allowed an short live supirority. Now it's far better to work towards your Black Cleaver by buying Ruby Crystal and your long swords

Situation

Mercurial Scimitar Not my favorite item by any means however I am very pleased it was added to the game as it gives Quicksilver Sash a greater purpose. I started using this item in a game (posted below) where I was facing not only an Amumu and a Taric (stun champs). The large amount of ap and stun prompted me to use this item. after buying the sash I was ulted by Amummu but escaped early and combo'd Shaco and ulted their team making them loose their advantage created by amumu. This is a good item to use if you're ever faced with a similar situation.

Sunfire Aegis I haven't personally tried this little beauty however with a heavy AD team it could prove useful. (note if anyone wants to try it out and send me the results feel free.)

Thornmail heavy ad team works really well with Warmog's Armor. I have an off-tank build that incorporates both of these elements
Back to Top

DA boots

mercury's treds in the game posted below I should have used these it probably would have saved me a few times however I didn't. Learn from my basic mistake don't get set in your way; if theirs allot of cc or slows or stuns on the enemy team its a good idea to get these.

Ninja Tabi great for high ad teams plain and simple.

Boots of Swiftness Mobility Boots if the enemy teams fairly squishy then this is what you want because you're going to be moving alot. If you do get these boots I recommend the captain enchantment to help your team and speed up your minions.

Why so much armor pen

To be honest I should have last whisper as a situational item for a heavy defense team. If you want to bump up you Bloodthirster early feel free. As for the reason I choose armor pen runes and armor pen items it's because the majority of your damage is going to come from your e and q combo and very little from your basic attacks ( during laning phase the only time I use my basic attack is when chasing).

Top lane

Wukong goes top dnt try and put him bot with adc you'll take kills or prove to be completely useless in late game. (In theory you could mid Wukong but I've never tried.

Basic take down strategies
Hit and run: at lvl 2 and 3 is when you should start you harassment (lvl 3 if there's two in lane or if they have AOE stuns or slows. Pop you're E Q in quick succession for a quick drain on their health (never engage before lvl 2 you're just setting yourself up for defeat) to escape just pop you W decoy and run to a safe distance.

The bush gank: a favorite of mine pop your W in a bush and creep closer to your wary target and finish them off with your combo. This techniques good for ganking mid and bot (after you've won top).

The tower dive: early game solo tower dives are uncommon for anyone who isn't kong but at lvl 6 (or even earlier know your damage output) you should dive your foes if they are around half health especially if you have your ult. With barrier you should be able to get away scot free. ( be smart dive with the minions don't take unnessisary damage.

Who to watch for: Darius the obvious suspect however if you shut him down at lvl 3 your game will be very pleasant as he's nothing without his ult.

Temo: if you see him top eat him this games over; however don't be so over confident that you let yourself be lured into a tall grass ambush.

Vladimir: your contender for ultimate top laner a good vlad can screw you in so many ways such as pooling when you ult or just major harass. Go in for quick jabs with your e q w combo and ult only when his pool is on cd. BEWARE Tower diveing be smart about this low health and pool on cd are your cues.

Singed: don't chase pop your combos and let him run even if he gets away just take the tower and gank for kills he's honestly not worth the hassle.

Mid game team fights

This is so simple a child could do it target the adc and hit your eq combo the ult you'll have shut down the adc within seconds and stuned (both in game and in real life) the other team allowing your team to move in and trample what's left (only the tankiest will have survived).

In your down time (waiting on your ultra cd) you should jungle or go Harris the towers with your q (one hit should do 350-500 by mid game). BE A TEAM PLAYER there's no I in Wukong do what has to be done to keep your team alive even if it means dying or wasting your ult.
