Introduction

My name is Lilacons, I've been playing yasuo for a bit now and I feel that I understand matchups fairly well. This guide is being made for players around my elo as high elo strats are fairly dead in gold :)

Runes

Conqueror just serves as a shred for all champions, and is especially good since it can be activated and reset using q. I prefer triumph over anything else in second tier as it helps you survive skirmishes and trades. It probably won't do too much in a team fight but it helps. Alacrity is just a flat attack speed increase. Coup de grace helps with extended fights or skirmishes.

Skill Sequence

Raising q base damage is more important than e as it is used more frequently on champions. W is the least important of the three so save that for last.

Items

Getting that 100% crit chance is important, and you want to buy infinity edge so your damage does not fall off. From there, a little bit of lifesteal is important. You should counterbuild your opponents and get some survivability.

-Poke avoidance with passive and windwall.

-Feast or Famine.
-Mistakes can cost it all.
-Reliance on knockups.

Team Work

Try to coordinate a plan for fights with your team. Knock ups are preferred but don't try to force your teammates out of comfort picks. Don't overcommit as your team will not always be able to follow up on your engage, make sure your team is in a good position to fight and don't ult on every knockup you see.

Yasuo is a fun champion for people of all shapes, sizes, colors, and elos. Just pay attention to your play in lane, and don't fall victim to yasuo syndrome. Have fun :)
