You can swap out Frozen mallet for Warmog's or Sunfire Cape for Warmogs, or Banshee's Veil for Warmogs, but not Atma's. Warmogs and Atma's are complimentary items. Without HP Atma's is a **** **** item. Even with stacks of NOMNOMNOM, Atma's makes more sense after you get an HP item built up.
Crit is NOT an on hit effect Nick. GTFO.

Yeah, as I recall Atma's becomes cost effective at around 1800 health. If you'll benefit from the armour and crit chance, go for it. Too many people focus entirely on Atma's passive and ignore the stats it brings.
That said, having a lot of health will certainly make it even better.

OH SNAP
Seriously tho, just take a look at the math and you'll see how bad it is.

Why is anyone considering Atma's as an item on Cho'Gath in regards to anything but the bonus armor? Are we really thinkin' AD ChoCho..? Nuuu.. T-T
I've played him as tank, I've trolled as Cho AP carry, but even with Vorpal, I've never seen that as viable.
V @Luthy: To each their own i guess.

^ Duff actually plays Cho as an AD Trinity Force type bruiser if I recall. Apparantly Vorpal Spikes with AS runes is super strong early.
I'm loath to disagree with him, because if I do it'll probably become OP in two or three months time.

I still have to try AD Cho. I never remember to do it when I'm in-game. :(
And Feredues, there are a ton of better armor items. If you're getting Atma's Impaler, it's for the passive. Not to say that the other stats aren't helpful too, but the free damage is the main attraction. Other armor items have their own helpful passives too, Atma's being geared towards offense.

And I would buy Phage after boots or Wit's End.
Again, with the combination of Atma's Impaler and Trinity Force, crit is worth it and you can also skill the crit masteries. So I would rather take the points in crit than in Havoc .^^
Crit is also an on-hit effect, you know.^^
