Hello! For the Tahm Kench matchup I personally like taking Lethal Tempo and Ignite with this new season, and just trying to play for a lead especially early on before he becomes tanky. The obvious point is to sidestep his Q since that denies him healing, damage and a slow on you and then you can just all in him pretty much. Also especially early on his E shield is pretty weak so that's why I'd try to push for a lead early.

In lane you can play near minions and walk behind them once he throws Q, or just sidestep if you are confident on that. If he walks up for a cs you can just W him and back off also to get some free damage off. Taking long trades near his tower is risky since if he gets his passive you'll just get thrown under his tower with his ult.

I don't think which build you go really matters in this matchup specifically, so I would just look at your comp and then decide whether you go Trinity Force or Dusk & Dawn route.

I will take the guy from the guide as my teacher, I hope you wish me luck because I will follow your advice blindly, I really liked the general writing, sorry if it is not very understandable, it is because I use a translator

Hi, how are you doing? the ryze matchup is pissing me off lately... can you recommend me runes, build and or advices for it? pleasee

PH45 (39) | September 7, 2024 1:36am
Hello! I'm doing good thanks for asking.

Haven't vs'd Ryze much as of recent, but for that matchup I'd probably either go Grasp of the Undying or Fleet Footwork. Grasp will give you stronger short trades especially since Ryze will usually root you when you engage and run away with his Phase Rush. You usually want to let him proc Phase Rush and when its down then engage on him. He is relatively squishy before he acquires Seraph's Embrace so you should be able to wither him down bit by bit as long as you don't get poked by him through the wave. I'd just probably rock the standard build of Trinity Force into Stridebreaker to keep up with him, but you can also throw in a Wit's End for some magic resistance.

Tips against Zac Top?

I personally run Grasp of the Undying and try to go for just quick W's during lane, also baiting him to W and backstepping out of it and then walking up again. Make sure to deny him the healing off his blobs if possible since thats his main source of sustain. At 6 you have to be careful since his ult spawns a lot of blobs for him and also does a lot of damage. It's not a very good lane for Jax imo but its winnable.

Hi! I currently following your guide to play Jax and I'm improving little by little
And i have a question to ask, Did you try the Experimetal Hexplate on Jax for the S14?
1
PH45 (39) | May 3, 2024 12:39am
Hello! Don't think that item is something that Jax wants since your ult CD isn't that problematic anyways, and you want ability haste for your normal abilities rather than only your ult.

hii!!! The new season has greatly changed the builds of many characters, including Jax. and I noticed that taam kench has become very hard for Jax, since without divin sunderer Jax lacks sustain and damage against it.what do you recommend buying, and basically what to do against this catfish?

PH45 (39) | January 12, 2024 2:00am
Hello!

I haven't faced Tahm Kench yet personally, so I can't say yet anything really other than I'd still probably go Trinity Force into Titanic Hydra since early on you can still kill him and afterwards just waveclear with Hydra.

I'm not sure about any of the shred items yet for Jax. In some rare cases maybe Terminus is viable but I won't make any statements yet on that since I haven't tested much. Also in terms of sustain Sundered Sky is a viable option.

Could jax use any of the new items like rageblade and go hybrid jax since now he has better AP ratios?
2
PH45 (39) | May 19, 2023 12:23am
Really don't see Guinsoo's Rageblade working for Jax since he has no HP while rushing it and you are also giving up Sheen on first item. If you go Essence Reaver second, still have no HP to tank anything. At its best, it's probably a 4fun build you can do, but personally I don't see it.

Your guide is just loverly, my only thought is that maybe you want to build a color theme? pick a color, or a couple close colors, and consider even recoloring your item links. The idea being that your guide ends up with a more cohesive visual theme.

Glad you enjoyed the guide! My guide definitely needs a bit of visual tuning but I've been really lazy with putting together new ideas towards it. It will happen eventually though 👍

Hi! I have one more question. . what jax build do you prefer this patch/season? it's just strange to see bork in the recommended items, knowing your preference, wits end.
1
PH45 (39) | February 11, 2023 3:43am
I still stick to the regular Divine Sunderer -> Wit's End/ Blade of the Ruined King -> situational basically just depending on what enemy team has. Zhonya's Hourglass is pretty nice item even sometimes 2nd if you need to be the one engaging for your team since it will buy you time while your team follows your engage.

While it's true I preferred Wit's End for a long time, my choice basically depends on what I'm laning vs and if they have multiple AP champions. If they have like 2-3 AP champions or more then I probably opt for Wit's End, unless they are really behind and the game seems like a stomp then I might just go Blade of the Ruined King anyways. Blade of the Ruined King is fine if they have less AP damage since you can itemize things like Anathema's Chains vs singular AP champ or a fed AP champ.

Hi! its me again for a simple question: its a bad option buy corropted potion at the start? not even the game recomend it anymore... why?
1
PH45 (39) | February 3, 2023 8:12am
Corrupting Potion got nerfed and you don't run Time Warp Tonic because of the nerf on it as well, so its overall just worse these days. Doran's Blade or Doran's Shield is just far superior option these days since it gives good stats for laning and generally allows you to sustain and fight through your way for the first reset to buy Refillable Potion if you need the extra sustain. Only difference is you have to be a bit more conservative with mana but that's why you take Biscuit Delivery to help you with mana issues.

Akxshi | February 1, 2023 9:40pm
Hy! I really like your guide. what do you think about the conqueror? is he a good choice for jax? Or is lethal Tempo better? do need an hourglass for jax?
1
PH45 (39) | February 3, 2023 8:09am
While Conqueror is viable choice, I think Lethal Tempo is still just superior since it makes you a lot stronger in early lane phase and if you can't make use of Lethal Tempo then you opt for Grasp of the Undying in matchups like Akali and Kennen etc where you don't get extended trades.

Zhonya's Hourglass is a situational item for Jax. If you are doing the engaging for your team and your team doesn't really have proper follow up, or if you just need to buy time in general in fights then Zhonya's Hourglass is a fine option.

Thank you!!! This question arose from the fact that I often see a conqueror in some other jax players. so I decided to get your opinion on this rune. thanks a lot again!!

Hey PH45,
Just some simple questions to ask:
1) What are your toughts on Spear of Shojin being removed from the game?
2) What item do you think Jax is gonna use if he will not have an item that resets his CD from his abilities?
3) How much is gonna affect Jax?
4) Do you think that Hextech Gunblade will be in the build again when Spear of Shojin will be removed?
Would've been great if Riot could make an item the same as Spear of Shojin but less powerful.

That's my questions about only based on Shojin. I don't get it why they want to remove the item when its not that powerful in my opinion.
I don't have questions about the guide or something from the guide. Its a great guide, very good explained, the coding is fantastic and that's it I think. I think I will comment again when the Spear of Shojin is removed. You need to be ready to update the builds because of the item being removed.
Hope you'll respond fast or whenever you have time.

Hello!

1) It is healthy for the game and honestly I've been waiting for it for a while myself. It really makes no sense having the item in the game when only a select few champs utilize the item extremely well to almost broken state. Good riddance to it.

2) Spear of Shojin will kind of stay in the game with the Cloud Drake Soul, although again you don't get to choose if you get it or not. I think for the most part Jax will go back to the build of Trinity Force + Titanic Hydra + Sterak's Gage, and you can then choose CDR items like Death's Dance, Maw of Malmortius, Spirit Visage etc since you'll be adapting your build depending on your needs.

3) It will definitely turn him weaker, but again Jax was fine before they even introduced Essence Reaver (Previous Spear of Shojin). It will make hard certain comps harder to play into but to be honest it was a bit busted to have E up permanently in fights. Jax will be probably still very playable with his old weaknesses, although we'll have to see how the Conqueror changes go through.

4) I don't think Hextech Gunblade is a good item on Jax since it's a purely offensive stat item. It's awkward to build since you'll be squishy with it through-out the build period. Sure it grants you sustain which is nice but Jax likes items that give him HP ( Sterak's Gage, Titanic Hydra etc). The item will still remain as a 4fun item imo, if you are hard snowballing/smurfing and you are confident on your victory then sure, but otherwise there are better items to build. Also I don't think the concept of Spear of Shojin should ever be introduced as a item again. They already are adding a version of it with the Dragon souls so having it as an item too would be broken. The game is far better off without it since champions like Jax, Renekton and Riven can't abuse the item.

I'll definitely be updating guides more during the pre-season, right now I'm in Season 10 waiting room :D

Didn't think that you'll respond that fast. It looks like you really love to respond to comments as much as I do on my guidea.

Onto your answers:

1) You are right here, the game will be more healthy. The item was somehow powerful because it gave you a big cdr from your skills. Let's take Jax's E as example. Let's say that his skill has 7 cd when you used it. Spear of Shojin makes his skill go to 2 seconds. But it depends, because the item needs your hits to make his job.

2) Yeah, the CDR items are great, but he will have to wait a lot for his skills to comeback jn team fighta. But as you say that the Cloud Drake will give the buff, it will be pretty OP in my opinion for others champions as like Irelia. Only my toughts, we'll see how the buff will be when we get there. We think that it can be broken, but maybe it sill not be broken.

3) Yeah, it made him weaker when his kit is a problem because its very expensive. If his enemy gets feed by 2 kills, Jax will need to farm and even take his Jungler farm brcause his kit is very powerful late. But depends, mostly of the Junglers are ignoring top and even if they have a Jax when he is supposed to be ganked in early because he sucks in early. Well, can't say about Tanks when they dominate Bruisers when it had to be vice versa. Can't say about Garen when he got more broken, no idea why they buffed him when it was already broken.

4) Yeah, you are right. Hextech Gunblade will not be in his, let's say "Standard" build. Yes, I love items that gave Jax HP. And you may be right about the build from the "2)" instead of Spear of Shojin because it has CDR and Life Steal. But you can make Hextech Gunblade useful on Jax. You may wonder how. Well, if you have no AP in your team and the enemies will buy Ninja Tabi. It may sounds stupid, don't really know. But tell me if its good or not, you are better than me on Jax. :>

Yup, I can even see that you are hyped for Season 10 to configure things from the guide. To me its not mich to edit because I only have my Pyke and Fizz guide. Anyway, let's ignore that. I Just hope Jax is still good. I even had a time when I played Jax jungler by going Trinity Force > Titanic Hydra > Sterak's Gage. Those 3 items is still making Jax viable without Spear of Shojin.

Let's talk about Conqueror as you mentioned it:

1) What do you think about the change? It is good or bad?
2) Do you think that Jax will move to Press the Attack or Lethal Tempo if Conqueror will be useless.
3) Do you think Conqueror affects Bruisers that much? Even mages as Sylas.
4) Do you think the AD stacks will be great on Jax?

I don't know why they nerfed Conqueror that hard. Its not they nerfed it so much and they of course changed to more AD each stack. Well, it can be solved with Guinsoo's Rageblade being a better version of Conqueror.

One question for you.
Are you hyped that you are near 10m views?

It may be a stupid question. Don't know if you enjoyed these questions, but here are some questions. If you like more questions about your guide and want me to tell you, I have a long list with questions ready for you. :D
