At that level you get really derp **** nuisances which are against the present meta or general play to put it in a better way at level 30. Basically the chances of you running into a
Swain for example at bot-lane is fair to say >1%. You'd also on most occasions have a support with you in which such champions will be no problem what so ever so I wouldn't really be worried too much over said scenarios and only take such games with a pinch of salt so don't get frustrated over them.
When it comes to starting items you'd most likely want to start
Boots & 3x
Health Potion unless your with
Soraka as these items will get you the sustain and mobility to avoid or heal potential damage so you don't have to
recall back to base so early. Against champions which just "charges towards you", just activate
Frost Shot auto-attack, walk back, auto-attack (if they're still chasing), walk back and so fourth - this is called kiting and
Ashe is one of the most superior AD carries at doing so you'd want to learn to do so in wanting to become a better
Ashe player.
Ashe is fairly weak early on in the game, she becomes a powerhouse late-game if farmed well so keep up the last hitting. Remember the gold value of 17 minions on average = Champion kill. So don't trouble yourself with "lacking kills early-game" compared to that
Xin Zhao who is getting fed by some naive person. If an opportunity presents itself then of course you will want to gain the momentum from your enemies mistake but getting a kill isn't necessary. Zoning your enemy out thus causing him to lose creeps or harassing forcing him to back early for instance are good as well. You want to try to balance harassing (or "sniping" as you put it) and last hitting minions - you don't want to lose creep score by harassing know within time you'll find a balance between the two.

Thank you for the swift reply Zell :)
I read your advice and played a game shortly afterwards. Oddly enough I ended up laning against an enemy Ashe whose mission it seemed was to solely hunt me down. With this in mind I did my best to stay back, shooting only the minions I could 1-hit. When the enemy Ashe moved forwards I volleyed and retreated back as best I could.
Though I got ganked on a few occasions and had to hug my turret for a while, sacrificing a bit of experience and gold, but I presume there are times when you just have no choice. It's very annoying early game trying to score a last hit on a minion when a tower deals so much damage each hit. As the mid game approached I far outstripped the enemy Ashe in minion kills and eventually outranked her in items, allowing me to easily kill her off during team fights.
I presume it's this 'cautious' play I will have to get used to? I sometimes feel I shouldn't be hiding behind my tower but Ashe is a carry class, and needs to wait until the late game before she can get going.
his game I went for the boots over the sword and the extra mobility comes in handy for running away/to a wounded minion and the potions allow you to lane for longer without having to retreat back to the spawn. Kassadin was the ganker but by the late game I could actually kill him quicker than he could me, so revenge felt very good, lol. :)
With kiting, I actually had to do it versus Warwick after he'd used his ultimate on me, and it worked a treat, but is there a secret way to do it? As in, I would right click to the left of Ashe then right click on Warwick, then to the left again... I was wondering if there is a keyboard shortcut for auto-attack that I'm not aware of? That would make it easier to do, that's all.
One last question, as Ashe, it is wiser not to push the enemy tower in your lane? And use it purely to farm rather than to destroy towers?
Thanks for the reply anyway :)

Trick for last hitting at tower:
-For a melee minion allow the tower to fire two shots at it and then autoattack
-For a caster minion allow the tower to fire one shot at it and then autoattack if you have a lot of damage. If not, autoattack it, then allow the tower to fire one shot at it, then autoattack it again.
You mostly just want to farm on an AD. Judging from your comments you are not getting supports in your lanes and are facing non-AD champions, which can really make it hard.

I actually prefer AP Ez to AD Ez.
And since Ashe has no escapes, gap closers, or steroids, I find it hard to justify building her AD at all.

Lugig, I would never send Ashe mid against Kass, Swain, Ahri, LeBlanc, ANY AP, because Ashe would be immediately owned.
Casters have the early game advantage, whereas ad have the late game advantage.
Only AD casters, like Talon, with a lot of burst, can outdamage mid AP.

I'd send her mid against Kass. Not much else though.

Wait, WTF?

I am a level 15 Ashe player who has been fairly happy with how my games have been going until recently, where I can do nothing but die :(
I'm looking for general and Ashe specific advice really that will hopefully help me vastly improve my game! I know Ashe is a carry, but the amount of times I am killed lately is no joke :(
My first question is when laning at the start (I tend to get Doran's sword or blade or whatever it's called because of the +100 HP it offers.) When laning then, I go about trying my best to score last hit on as many minions as I can, but I find enemy heroes just turn up and kill or injure me so quickly I can't do anything but hug my turret (which in turn makes it incredibly hard to last hit as the tower does so much damage.)
An example of when I have had my face turned inside out would be today when I fought against Swain, he quickly targetted me down with his Decreptify dealing insane damage to me, whilst hitting me with his normal attack. I tried my best to scare him off with Volley but it does not seem to help in the slightest and I'm forced back, or killed, instantly. Swain just charges for me regardless of Volley.
Another example of this is Kassadin, who deletes my HP in seconds and warps away barely scarred. How should I deal with these AP heroes as Ashe?
My next question is hero kills. I find it stupidly difficult to kill enemy heroes early game, even if they're injured. Before my ultimate is available, they seem to just run away (often without needing flash or ghost) to the nearest turret, preventing me from doing anything else. I can only presume Ashe shouldn't tower dive? lol...
Should I not bother trying to get hero kills early game? And just reduce their HP enough to force them to return to base and heal up? Or am I simply doing something wrong when it comes to slaying champions?
Wow, didn't realise I'd written so much...
A more general question is when last hitting, is it recommended you attack nothing else but the minion you are about to last hit? I have often seen this in videos and am confused as to whether this is the right thing to do? I know it's called freezing the lane (I think, lol) Where you don't gain or lose ground, but you score a lot of minion kills, during this time is it wise to try and snipe a hit at the enemy hero? Or should I be focussing solely on minion kills?
This is also the sort of time when Swain or Kassidan just march over and own me, or force me to retreat stopping me from scoring any minion kills.
I think that'll do for now, any help would be GREATLY appreciated! If I stop dying i'd even consider adding you to my will :P
I'm on EUW and my LoL name is Taffyrei; if that makes it easier to contact me or whatever...
Thank you for reading! (Oh and I have thuroughly read the Ashes to Ashe's build and am currently using that to help me!)
P.S If there are any threads/videos or whatever that have some of the answers i'm looking for and I just can't seem to find them, pelase post a link as your reply! :D
