The RoA is a pick because i removed the Morellonomicon, and its also an item i will build from time to time.
As with all builds you see they are open to interpretation, I could just list all items i use on Lux but you'd end up with more than you can buy.
There isn't that big a list.
Then you might see:
It's also the case that you won't even need to include all the items I listed.
@ThroatSlasher Diamond 2 is a huge jump from Bronze and Silver, i would expect people at Diamond and higher leagues dont have use for Guides. However those who do have uses for guides require a guide suited for their Division, this build works for Bronze/Silver/Gold as its the Division im currently in.
No, what people want in a guide is what works BEST (also what is fun, but let's go on the assumption on what works best). Why should I follow a guide that only works up to Gold, but not above that? Surely I would want a guide that would help me win to the best of my abilities, not the best of abilities of Gold? This line of argument is invalid.
Alot of higher division players come to Bronze and Silver when they smurf and from the majority of smurfs ive seen im not all that impressed. Simple reason is the higher Division player is in a Division with different playstyles compared to the lower Divisions.
Oh, if you think it's only a difference of playstyle then you're sorely mistaken. Go 1v1 with any higher tier player and see how many games you win.
Throatslasher did a 1v1 against an unranked recently who thought she knew how to play
Okay, so that's just one example. It could happen, right? I assure you that this is not the case. It's not a difference of playstyle, but a difference in skill.
I imagine that at Diamond 2 you dont have people diving you at Tower when you and they are level 3. Yet that happens in my league, and it how i get fed early in lane. People play far too aggressive and over-extend in my league, im assuming that isnt the case for your league which also suggests a different build and playstyle would be required. So sure, you may be higher Division but that doesnt mean you are right. 1v1 you will probably beat me because you are more skilled. However the things you do in your League arent always gonna be appropriate in my League.
No, you get people diving from level 2. Just watch the LCS/OGN and see how many teams effect a level 2 dive. Why would you dive at low levels? Well early kills can (and often do) give a snowballing effect. You kill the enemy, farm and push their tower. They come back to lane underleveled and with less farm. You come back to lane with stronger items and a stronger control of the lane. For example, some teams have abused the passive of
I am however open to your criticisms and improvements, so perhaps you wanna weigh in and post suggestions and list a better item build with reasons why, rather than just saying 'your wrong in your choices because i disagree and im in Diamond 2'
He did explain and it seems you missed it. So what he's actually done is given his points, explained them and then backed them up with his experience as a higher tier player. Allow me to rephrase it.
Choosing to buy both
Generally in terms of build path, what you want is something like:
They're dealing too much magic damage, take magic resist items:
They're dealing too much physical damage, take
They're building too much magic resist, take
You've snowballed hard and you've gotten easy kills, build
Etc etc. That's the kind of thought process you want. Maybe not all

And I don't advocate RoA on
He changed from morellos to roa. Which is kinda meh, as you explained.
Yeah, the only few burst mages I can think of that take RoA are
Wait am I the only one who is kinda surprised by the RoA pick I mean the hp is wasted you already get enough mana regen items it delays your mid game damage and there are much better alternatives
Lich bane is iffy for the same reason roa isn't effective. You're a long ranged poke mage who shouldn't be getting close to fights.
If for some reason you have a weak adc or something and need to push towers or the enemy bruisers are stupid enough to stand in your autoattack range and not jump on you then by all means take it but definitely not something I'd get every game
Not voting cause it looks like a lot of effort was put in the guide but item build is rather strange :<

I mean, what the **** do I know? I'm just a diamond 2 mid main (ex lux main)
I have a steady continuous progression through my games and good endgame.
I will be going into match-ups later on, i didnt list all match-ups and comment on them all or id have had another 50,000 words.
I wanted to get basics in the guide, and then move onto more complicated sections, Lich Bane is a really good item for Lux, i just cannot understand where you come from with all this.. alot of the game is building different items in different situations but i cannot list items in a build as 'take this if' or 'take this before this if' etc... because the guide would have a sloppy incoherent item build.
Im actually going to change the item build to full items, and then make a section dedicated to order of purchase, but thats for a later date.
To the build, it's pretty meh. I think lich bane rush is extremely trashy on lux. There are SO MANY more important items to rush/finish, and your justification of 'zomg the dmgs' doesn't hold up. I hate flat health seals, if you want to go the hp seals route, take scaling. I'd personally always take the armor as lux starts with something pitiful like 11-12 armor, doubling your level 1 armor is pretty potent and will prevent junglers like xin/j4 from doing true damage to you if they touch you.
No coding, honestly about 50% of the content can be scrapped while reworking the remaining 50% to include matchups and coding.
Also, I really dislike nom+athene's and lich bane rush. Running around with chalice, book, and sheen is a good way to lose mid game fights. So many situations don't even allow you to auto attack more than once or twice, so it is wasted. If you're in range to auto attack, you're in range to get touched by xin/zac/j4/zed/anyone and die.
