The Fiora vs. Poppy matchup can be EXTREMELY difficult for inexperienced Fiora players but becomes manageable with practice and patience. Take Teleport as your summoner spell and focus on playing carefully. If you plan to fight often, go with Conqueror as your keystone, but if you’re playing defensively, Grasp works well too.
You can parry Poppy’s W if she uses it recklessly. You do this is by using a slide parry combo (Q+W) to stun her. Avoid getting hit by the second part of her Q at all costs, as it deals massive damage and can turn the fight in her favor. Near walls, always be cautious of her E; most Poppy players will try to pin you when the opportunity arises. Predict this and attempt to parry it, but don’t let her bait you into wasting your Riposte. If she gets dangerousily low, she will most likely try to R you away. You can either expect this and Q to dodge it, or dont go in deep when she has her R up.
If Poppy builds Bramble Vest, avoid fighting until you’ve completed Ravenous Hydra. The Grievous Wounds effect will significantly weaken your sustain, making fights difficult even if she makes mistakes. Cutdown
Gragas
When facing Gragas as Fiora, he becomes a FAT MENACE due to his strong early-game potential. Gragas players know their power and will often use it to bully you in lane. Take Grasp for a safer lane or Conqueror if you’re aiming for better scaling, though it will make the early game harder. Start with Doran’s Shield and Second Wind, play safe, and focus on scaling into the mid-game.
There’s little reason to play aggressively here(which is why grasp is recommended), as his melee range E is nearly impossible to parry, especially against a skilled Gragas. Even if you manage to parry it, he’ll likely activate Phase Rush and escape. Be extra cautious of jungle ganks—Gragas has excellent setup potential with his ultimate.
Use your Q to dodge barrels if necessary, but avoid dashing toward him, as he’ll just E you back into the barrel damage. This matchup revolves around careful positioning and predicting his E. Consider asking your jungler for an early gank to catch him off guard and turn the tide in your favor. Last stand
Akshan
Akshan might not be as popular or strong as before, but he’s still worth mentioning for old times’ sake.
This matchup can be challenging. Start with PTA as your keystone and build Doran’s Shield with Second Wind for sustain. Rush Ninja Tabis early to mitigate his auto-attack-heavy damage. Your goal is to play defensively and capitalize on his mistakes.
In most cases, it’s best to parry his Q combo, as it often involves a Q into double auto-attack sequence. Avoid sacrificing too much health for minions since Akshan is an excellent diver and can snowball quickly if he gets ahead. When he swings using his E, you can Q into him to interrupt it and stop his swinging.
Patience is key in this matchup—wait for opportunities to punish his misplays.

Kennen
This matchup can be painful, so starting with Doran's Shield and Second Wind is a must for sustain. Take PTA and focus on short trades, especially when your parry is off cooldown and he’s already used his Q. Use your minions to block his Q as best you can, and keep track of his stacks to avoid getting stunned. If he has two stacks on you and hasn’t used his W yet, he’ll either use it immediately or wait for you to use your parry, depending on how experienced they are. In this situation, I recommend waiting a bit and trying to parry it quickly after (like a 0.5-1s window). If you miss, take note for next time. Hexdrinker is a possibility in this matchup, and can help you not get one shot when he ults. Last stand
Malphite
The Malphite matchup can be either even or extreme, depending on the player. Malphite is a real pain, often worthy of a ban alongside Gragas. You’d think Fiora would be a counter due to her true damage, but it’s actually the opposite, however many inexperienced players pick him without understanding why they win the matchup, which can be turned to your favour.
Before Malphite gets Bramble Vest, you can look for early kills, but once he has it, just like Poppy, he’ll run you over.
For tips, take Conqueror for scaling and Second Wind with Doran’s Shield to help with sustain. You can use your Q to dodge his Comet and secure low-health minions while farming. If he engages, try to parry his E, as his R is nearly impossible to parry unless he uses it from a distance, in which case you can react to it.
This is a farming lane, so focus on getting Ravenous Hydra as quickly as possible, then shove the lane, roam and repeat. Cut down
Jax
Jax can be a huge threat for inexperienced players. His ability to recast his E can lead to unexpected stuns, or he might hold it to make you mistime your parry, then just stat-check you. The key is learning from your mistakes. Every Jax player will try different tactics, and you need to identify their patterns over time. This is a skill matchup, but it's favored for Jax because one mistake can lead to your death. When he Q's onto you as an engage, he will usually auto-w to burst you, so you can parry this instead and save yourself the trouble of parrying his E(because you can just Q away from his E anyway, since he used his Q to engage). Take PTA if you’re confident, or Conqueror if you want to play it safe. The key is to play around his cooldowns. If you’re better than him, you’ll win the matchup. Coup De Grace
Aatrox
Cake walk for fiora unless the aatrox is MARGINALLY better than you. Take conq and ignite and try to stomp him. Each Q can be parried for a stun (preferably dodge first 2 with your Q, and parry the third one). You can very easily Q out of his W, or slide parry it for an unexpected stun. Dont waste gold for executioners, fight him with your ignite up, and when you're ahead you just beat him without antiheal. Coup De Grace
Ambessa
Pretty tough but skill matchup, if she's not shut down early she can outduel and dive you perma with her CRAZY W shield. Take Conq with ignite if confident, otherwise teleport. Rushing plated steel caps gets rid of a lot of her damage. You can parry backwards when she ults you to stun her, however pre 6 parry timing are pretty tough. Try to parry her 2nd Q, she will usually try to combo it after landing her E slow, or instantly after using her 1st Q. If you are experienced enough with the matchup, you can dance around her abilities and space her with your vital MS. Coup De Grace
Aurora
Very annoying matchup, but similar to teemo she can be ran down. Take PTA and Dshield and go for short trades, you can take ghost in this matchup to run her down, however flash might be preferred for some players. PARRY HER E! she will most likely try to Q>EQ to get elec proc and burst you, so if you try to parry her E, it gets rid of most of her damage and doesn't slow you. You can Q while she's invis to partially reveal her and still hit her/vitals. Depending on enemy teamcomp, Its also very viable to rush hexdrinker. Last Stand
Briar
Not hard matchup, Take conqueror and play fights correctly and you just beat her. you can parry both her Q and E, if she uses E on wave you can slide parry into it to stun her. If you parry her Q you're guaranteed to stun and remove a large potion of her armor pen. Take tabis in this matchup, don't get run down (use W correctly) and just stomp her. Coup De Grace
Caitlyn
Caitlyn is seen more and more on toplane (thanks drututt!), but this matchup surprisingly isn't as hard as it might seem. It's gonna be annoying but you can run her down if played correctly, take PTA, second wind and dorans shield. You can slide parry into her traps to stun her if she oversteps or places them down in panic during a fight, otherwise hold your parry and either use it for the slow or don't use it. You can dodge her E reliably with your MS from vitals (or ghost) or with your Q, once you're on top of her she's dead. Last Stand
Camille
similarly to aatrox, this is an easy matchup unless she is marginally better than you. Take Conq teleport, Hold your parry for her E, don't stand near walls so it's reactable. You can also parry her true damage Q if she has triforce, to negate a lot of damage, however camilles will usually use their E for a guaranteed Q2, so it's more reliable to parry it. Use your Q to dodge her Q sweet spot. If she uses her E to engage or overally uses it incorrectly, just pop ult and run her down, as she has no escape. With enough experience, you can interrupt her E when she's running away by slide parrying when she's E'ing to stun her. Cutdown
Cassiopeia
VERY tough matchup, especially if you're inexperienced with it. she can run you down with and without rylais and scales very hard. You can expect her R to parry it but its pretty tough, so it might be better to parry her Q, to basically halve her damage, BUT make sure to hit the SLOW PART of your W, otherwise you might not be able to catch her. Be aware of her W, as it will stop your from using your Q and can be a death sentence. if she uses her W wrong, you can run her down level 3. Play very patiently and you can beat her, don't get run down and expect her to deal a TON of damage. Last stand
Cho'Gath
Very easy to stomp and shutdown Pre 6, but be aware of his ult after. His R executes around 350-400 health at level 6-7 so you can expect and parry it if you didn't parry his Q. Speaking of his Q, very easy to parry and to slide parry aswell, good chogaths will always silence you before using Q, but if you're already on top of him, you can dodge it with your vital MS. if he slows you with E then just tank the Q and hold your parry for the next one or his R if he gets you low enough. Beware of his high passive sustain, don't take bad fights, since you're way stronger Pre 6, if you freeze the wave near your turret you can zone him from minions forcing him to waste mana on farming and rendering him useless once hes out of mana. Cutdown
Darius
either play to stomp or scale. To stomp take conq with nimbus and celery with ignite, you can win with him as long as you play correctly. parry his auto-w or hold it for his R post level 6. Its best to not gamble parrying his E unless you can 100% expect it. A good darius will E into ult which is impossible to parry, so play while having this in mind. Dont parry his Q as he still gets healing if he hits the sweet spot, instead Q inside of him so he DOESNT hit the sweet spot at all. If you arent looking to play aggressive, take the standard rune page with second win and dorans shield, and just farm and play off of his mistakes. Coup De Grace
Dr. Mundo
Not hard, get executioners ASAP, take conq and try to beat him in lane. you can dance around him with Q's to deny him healing and avoid taking damage. if you know you cant dodge one you can parry it, but its better to parry his grasp auto>E to deny him damage. If you dont stomp him in lane he will be a pain to your entire team lategame. Post 6 its hard to kill him but definitely doable. Coup De Grace
Fiddlesticks
Not tough, his Q is very reactable for a free stun, and you can run from his R pretty easily. You outdamage him at all points in the game(unless you stand in his ult) and can punish him very well + not let him farm. This pick can be very painful to some toplaners but fiora isnt one of them. Take PTA with second wind to deny him aery poke.
Galio
very rarely played, but if someone for some MAGICAL reason blinds galio top, you can stomp him. His E poke is easy to avoid with your mobility, all of his abilities are very easy to parry and his passive is useless vs you. he has no way of winning this lane except perma pushing and skirmishing.
Gangplank
Not easy, but doable. Take dshield with second wind and try to survive lane, dont let him get free Q's off (play around your minions) but DONT trade back as he will barrel you and run away with 0 counterplay. You can run him down if he messes up or post ravenous with tabis. Parry his barrel or passive auto if possible. If you Q into him and destroy his barrel with AA cancel you can suprise him and instant all-in him. You can also play around bushes and your Q to deny him Q grasp procs and barrel hits. If he puts down a ward you can destroy it with aa>q>aa.
Garen
Pretty even lane, but more in your favour. Beware of his level 1-2 damage, dont let him run at you for free. pre 6 always parry his Q, and post 6 its situational on whatever the garen decides to do. if its possible to parry so you live, then do so. He cant engage on you with E because of your Q and ms from passive(especially if you parry his silence), so if he does just run away and turn back to all-in him and he has 0 counterplay. Post 6 with ravenous you just stomp him.
Gnar
Take CONQ with second wind+dshield, this matchup might seem hard but its not. starting from level 2 you can start trading with him, using your parry on either his Q or W passive (so he doesnt get his ms). If you slide parry into him as hes attacking for the third stack, he will be slowed and caught offguard and can lead to an all-in from your part. When hes mega gnar its best go parry his W or R post lvl 6, if you parry his r its a guaranteed stun since he's locked in the animation. You can take swifties in this matchup, however steelcaps are probably better. Q forward facing vitals and run away so he cant hit his Q or 3 stacks. You outscale if you cant win lane, but winning is pretty easy.
Gwen
Take conq and try to stomp her, you win every long fight pre 6 if you parry her Q (most importantly the last snip, as it deals the most damage). Post 6 you can try to play around her Q with your Q and ms, to parry her last ult proc, however if this deems unreliable to you, just stick to parrying the Q and maybe dodging her R. Try to disengage when she uses her W as she gains defences inside of it, putting you at a disadvantage. If you get her low enough to dive her lvl3-4 you insta win lane.
Heimerdinger
rarely played anymore but its a pretty easy. You can either play kill him or to ignore him completely and scale. Parry his E, as its very telegraphed, and try to dodge his W/evolved W with your Q. You can quickly destroy his turrets with Q>AA, and they go on a very long cooldown, giving you a chance to all in. Try to not get poked out by his comet and W poke.
Akali
Space her Q and dont get hit by her slow, if she hits her E parry the E2+AA to get rid of most of her damage. post 6 you can also parry her R2 though its tougher. get oracle lens ASAP, and when shes invis you can Q to still hit her and a vital if you remember where it spawned beforehand. Akali has very low energy and very bad wave clear early, so try to take advantage of it.
Alistar
Dont let him freeze near his turret as he will combo you into it, if he W's you, you can parry and it will 100% stun him, bewere of his gank setup. this is either a stomp or farm lane.
Illaoi
DONT GET HIT BY TENTACLES! With the insane mobility fiora has, if you get hit a lot by her tentacles its a pure skill issue and you need to get better at it. pre 6 you can pretty much just run at her and win, if youre caught in a bad situation you can parry her tentacle slams or her W so the tentacles dont slam at all. Post 6, the best advice for any toplaner vs illaoi is to instant disengage when she ults, otherwise its a stat-check death sentence. Her E isn't as important as it is annoying, once she gets black cleaver you can start worrying about it more.
Irelia
Beware of her lvl1, as she can Q the first 3 minions and auto you to death with fully stacked passive. If she plays aggresively you can abuse this to your advantage and parry her stun to burst her. If you parry her Q after she landed E or Ult, she wont get the reset for quite a long time, however you should always aim to parry either E or ult. Dont underestimate her damage with full stacks and play patiently but aggresively. If you abuse her early you win.
Jayce
Poke lane, take second wind and dorans shield, if he engages on you, parry his jump and disengage. similarly to gragas, theres no need to fight in this lane, as its hard to win a fight and you majorly outscale anyway. Jayce has pretty bad mobility so if your jungler gets a good gank off, he will either die or be forced to flash. Try to survive the lane, dont get poked out and scale.
K'Sante
extremely mobile champ with multiple forms of CC, hes very strong current patch and very hard to play against. use your Q to dodge Q, and parry his Q3 as its very telegraphed (can also slideparry to suprise him when hes farming). dont let him freeze near his turret as he can combo you into it fairly easy. if you can expect his ult, you can parry behind you to stun him, unless he does it over a wall, then you just not get taken(however this doesnt work, since a good k'sante will ccchain you into the ult, which is why its best to parry q3 or his W). He can E to dodge your W and not get stunned after Q3 which is problematic, but if you parry his W when he uses it recklessly you can 100% get a stun off. Poke him out with extended trades when your parry is off-cooldown, then all-in when hes below 50% hp.

this guide was written fully from the top of my head on my phone during a very long and boring day without access to my computer, so there are bound to be tiny mistakes. if you notice any, give me a comment! :)
i will add more specific matchup guides, aswell as correct the existing ones once i get my PC back.
