I have been a Volibear player for a long time and he is a really strong and overlooked champ when played correctly he can get your team fed and be a terror for the other team. Also he is my favorite champ to play hes so fun and you can play him so many ways. Top, Support, and jungle Ive seen voli be successful at them all in this guide I am going to talk about solo top Voli. This my first guide so "bear" with me as i work out all the kinks

Pros
Fun to play
If used Correctly can really be an asset to any team
High damage output to still be tanky
Easy to learn
Not played alot people underestimate him
pretty versatile
Aggressive Play style
His Q cancels alot of ults (ex. Katarina, MF)

Cons
Can struggle against high mobility champs (ex. Corki, Ez)
Aggressive Play style
Can be Detrimental to team if played wrong
Not really used in high elo situations

Boots wise you really have 3 options all depending on how the game is going.

You gave up a a first blood double kill to Fiora you need to go Ninja Tabi.
A team Full of CC? Go Merc Treads
You have a favorable lane opponent and you wanna Snowball go beserkers

Ideally on your first back you wna be able to pick up your choice of boots and an Avarice blade to work towards your Shiv but say your having a rough time pick up a Ruby Crystal and Some pots to let you stay in lane longer.

After You pick up your Shiv you can Really go in almost any order depending on the gameflow i usually tend to go a bit defensive with mogs or Randiums just to help the team be more tanky

There are also some items you can add that i add situationally
Fed Adc? meet thronmail
Snowballing hard? add a zephyr
Rough time with an ap ? Go Spirits visage or Wits end
having issues sticking with champs? Frozen Mallets always Nice
Maw of Malmortius and Blade of the ruined king can be good add ins as well

Solo Top Tips
-Max your E first gives you better farming capabilities and a nice Slow
- Save your Q for when your jungle comes to gank Q then E combo makes it tough to escape
- Freeze your lane outside of your turrets range makes for easy ganks for your jungler and near impossible for you to get ganked
- only use your E to farm when your pushing otherwise youll end up overextending

Jungle Tips
- Max W first gives good attack speed first and also does good damage makes for better clear times
- Only use Q when ganking and make sure to coordinate with your team
- you should be able to solo dragon by level 10 with no issues but best to have mid or bot come to help
- Static Shiv should be a very early buy makes your camp clears very fast
