Intro
Keeper of the ancient art of Wuju, Master Yi is a mystical warrior from the isle of Ionia. He descended from one of the few tribes dedicated to the preservation of Wuju, a martial art founded with the principles of absolute spiritual awareness of one's self and one's enemy. When the armies of Noxus invaded Ionia, Master Yi joined in the Ionian defense to fight the craven enemy, bringing his village honor through his unparalleled mastery of the blade. The ensuing battles ravaged the land, but no conflict inflicted as much horror as the day the armies of Noxus closed in on Yi's village. Left undefended, the village became the unfortunate test subject of the latest invention by an up-and-coming chemist, now known as Singed. The remains of the village that Master Yi returned to were so horrific that it remains a festering scar on Ionian history. To this day, no Ionian will ever publicly speak of what occurred.
After the Noxian invasion was contained, Master Yi fell into a deep isolation. For years, he trained morning to night, speaking to no one and refusing offers of consolation by fellow Ionians. The only thing stopping him from madly charging into Noxus battle lines headfirst was his pledge to keep the Wuju style alive. Even though he seethed with impatience, his rage became a tool for sharpening his practice of Wuju, developing stronger and deadlier skills for his eventual vengeance. The only thing that roused him was news of the League's formation, and Noxus's subsequent enrollment in the League. Master Yi now brings his mastery of the blade to the League of Legends with unflinching purpose: to avenge his kinfolk and end the predations of the Noxus once and for all.

I find that playing very aggressive with yi works like a charm so long as you are wary of diving and know what you can actually achieve, it pays to stay in lane instead of ganking early unless you know you will get the kill because you end up behind on levels. you may find yi a bit weak at before level 6 but as soon as you get your ult
Highlander and have
Statikk Shiv you will find that pretty much anyone you face will die a sudden death.

I have only used this build in a few ranked matches as i dont like playing ranked solo too many feeders but once again I find that playing very aggressive with yi works like a charm, a little bit more awareness is needed to play this build in raked as you are very squishy and until 6 you do not have a lot of escape skills only Flash. i find that this build works because so few people expect yi to play like such a maniac unless he is fed nor do they expect an ad yi going mid, not that i get to mid him in ranked often because people rage about it and like to call you noob etc.
anyway yes this build is still viable in ranked

farming is pretty self explanatory you need to kill minions to do this i use my q alot when the enemy is trying to harras but when they arent in lane or are playing more defensive i like to conserve mana and just run around letting minions do all the work and only taking last hits. the second method is nicer to be able to use as it pushes lane less but still keeps your farm high.
If your team is decent and stays equal with the enemy then you as master yi dont need much help unless you really suck, once you have
Statikk Shiv and are building
Infinity Edge (by this stage you should 100% have your ult and you have your
Pickaxe ) then i would suggest starting to gank mid and jungle if they have one.
if it is a really close game and your team is getting annoyed about you 'not helping enough' then stay with them and help them win together, i enjoy teamwork in harder games but otherwise i just like trying to 5v1 and see how many i can take out before my team arrive :D even in harder games this is at least 2 sometimes 3 people i kill with no support which is fun.

DAMAGE ATTACK SPEED DAMAGE ATTACK SPEED and crit chance, is all
Master Yi really needs if you're doing well and if you aren't doing so well e.g have nice damage but cannot sustain then rush lifesteal even if its only a little bit e.e
Vampiric Scepter or
Bloodthirster before
Infinity Edge or try building a warmogs armor or maybe even a frozen mallet perhaps a
Mercurial Scimitar might be called for. honestly read the game situation and try to pick an item that suits that scenario. if the enemy has high health then you might want to think about getting a
Blade of the Ruined King , a lot of people are hating on the item but i find that it can actually be quite usefull with its nice little healing abilities.

i chose this skill sequence because i find that i really dont have much need for my heal untill about 11-15 it can be usefull earlier if you are often getting low and they have ignites burns etc even poison, i take alpha strike at level one for its multi target damage and wuju at level two and three for its lovely damage boost i proceed to max wuju before q alternating which i put my skill point in each level other than 6 and 11 which you put your skill point on R (
Highlander which is such an amazing ult) taking a point in and maxing my w last.
