Introduction

Tired of playing Morde Es #2 (He is now 2, due to the patch), trying to check out a harder champ? Lee Sin is a champ that actually requires skills and quick thinking, Knowing when to initiate, when to use your ult can make or break your game. This guide, will help you in a Tanky Lee sin. A good amount of damage and being able to take on many foes, is what he is best at!

This build is amazing in ranked games. I don't carry hard, but I make sure I live to protect my Carries, That is what this build is meant for. I am an Anti-Carry, with the ability to protect my teammates and kill their carries with ease. Before you complain about this build or down-vote I would recommend you trying this out in an actual game. If you manage to get the items i have enlisted, you will too understand how great it is to be a tanky lee sin.

Lane or Jungle?

I have in fact jungled, not very well but I believe Lee Sin in a lane is much more annoying and deadly. Also this build involves you needing plenty of farm. Jungle creeps will not provide enough farm. In a lane, you can solo top 1v 2 or 1v1, Hes safe, has easy escape skills and does quick damage.

What to do during Laning Phase
During Lane Phase, you should be last hitting and making sure to harass try your best to not let them farm just as much as you. You can use your Sonic Wave / Resonating Strike to harass them, and then using your Safeguard / Iron Will to jump to a minion Real quickly before getting hit. When you are doing this try to make sure you have a minion to jump to, or else you may die.

Another trick is at level 6, after you have your Dragon's Rage let them Push closer to your tower, then once a tower hits them, flash behind them, and use your Dragon's Rage to kick them back into the tower's Range. It will usually help you get a kill or just hurt them a lot.

Runes

Greater Mark of Desolation : Obviously these runes are for penetrating people's armor, It is great and helps alot.

Greater Seal of Armor : Armor Flat Runes, Helps alot of tanky champs including this particular Lee Sin.

Greater Glyph of Magic Resist : Flat Magic resist runes, helps alot early game for those with pure AP runes.

Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage : These are probably not recommended by most guides however! I think they work great early game and aren't COMPLETELY useless late game. The extra Attack helps deal more damage, and i don't think health runes are worth it. If you had 3 health runes its 78 more hp... big deal.

Masteries

I chose 21/9/0, Because the Points in Offense, Help both early and late game, I chose 9 points for defense because it will help both early and late game, compared to getting your points in Utility and getting the Exp mastery, Usually you shouldn't fall behind on exp, unless you are continuously going back to base, then maybe you should reconsider.

Items

So Lee Sin items are quick and easy, Boots to run and Potions to help you stay in lane!

Hopefully by the time you need to go back to base you can pick up

With these two items, you should be able to stick in your lane even longer, And by your 3rd time back you should quickly be able to pick up your

This will be your next Goal.
The sequence you should be getting will be.

From hear on , you won't be following the item path, because there are no games that are the same. If your opponent has a AP champ completely melting you, you should probably finish those
Mercury's Treads, And lets assume that it didn't do much to their damage, i would Recommend getting your . I know people say to get Atma's Impaler right away, but what is the point in doing more damage, if you can hardly live?

So if the enemy team has a fed carry, choose the appropriate Resist.
OR

After getting either of the resist, you should be able to tank so you can finally go for your

You should ALWAYS build your before the .

Once you have completed your item. It would be time to inspect the enemy team. If they have both AP and AD carries who are doing damage finish what you haven't finished, but usually its only 1 AP or 1 AD who is melting you. with that you should already have built a proper resist, if you have then why not get your second . however this is only if you do not need both the Force of Nature and Thornmail

Other Items

One of the popular items people get for Lee Sin. I personally think it takes WAY to long to make it, and to me it just isn't worth it.

I know it is a viable item.... but I really do not think it is THAT great for Lee Sin. if you are following my guide , and you think a hextech or even a trinity force will increase your damage, you might as well get another Warmogs.

Summoner Spells

My Main Summoner Spells.

: Flash is ALWAYS useful, although as Lee Sin Flash will be mainly used, for setting up your ult.

: Teleport HELPS tremendously. It can help you quickly, go back to base, or assuming your team is warding Really Quick Games.

Other Possible Summoner Spells
: I guess it can be used so they don't run so quickly. But this is probably the only other viable summoner spell i think may be useful for Lee Sin.

Pros / Cons

Pros
- Quick Farming
- Stay in Lane Longer
- Decent Damage
- Nice Early Game Harass.
- And late game, you are usually ALMOST unkillable. You are super super tanky,
Cons
-Not the HIGHEST burst damage possible
-Landing your Q is hard :(

Skill Sequence

Start with Sonic Wave / Resonating Strike then Tempest / Cripple then Safeguard / Iron Will to a minion, and continue till they get lower. When you think you are able to kill them, a good combo is to Sonic Wave / Resonating Strike But don't use the second part! before you follow up, use Dragon's Rage THEN use your Resonating Strike. Its a great combo to do quick damage and utilize Dragon's Rage without losing him.

Why Choose Tanky Lee Sin over Pure DPS Lee Sin?

Some people say "Leave the tanking job for the Tanks, and just go DPS"

The reason why I don't is because in a game, is wriggles + Atmog's (Atmas + Warmog) is already insane damage. Yes i could spare a bit of survivability, and get more DPS, but personally i would rather be in the fight tanking a 2 or 3 of them, and still managing to kill them all and get away. So yes you can get more DPS than massive resist, but with the wriggles and warmogs doing so much damage already, why would you need to. The only reason i can think of is your the only AD carry on your team.

Team Work

Lee Sin is NOT an AD carry. Your job is to get a few kills here and there but to let your carries get the kills. Stop trying to get last hits when your AD or AP carry obviously can get it. This build isn't meant for normal games because no one has team work. If you want to play Lee Sin how he is suppose to be played, you have to focus on farming and all kill you are able to get you should try to let one of your carries have it.

The way I play Lee Sin in a ranked premade team match is, I farm and when i think we can get a kill I will let me AD carry get the last hit, if your teammate cannot grab it, then go ahead and take it but every opportunity the carry has for a kill, let the person have it. Also the way i use lee sin's Dragon's Rage, I use it to kick the opponent off my teammate then i proceed to do damage to their carries. My main goal is to protect my carry, and kill their carries. I do quick damage and I can live against them.

Summary

This build is mainly focused on Lee Sin being the protector every carry needs. You have a shield to help them out a little, your ult can make sure they get OFF your carry, and you have your Q and W and E to quickly dash into the opponent's carry and melt them down. This build isn't meant for Lee Sin to be a carry, so don't act like one.

Another guide that hasn't earned its appreciation is this Miss Fortune Guide. It's an extremely detailed and noob/user friendly guide.
