Pyke
With most hook champs Ezreal is able to buffer their hooks with his Arcane Shift (E). Pyke is a different story, his Q drags you towards him and Pyke's E stuns you therefore preventing you from being able to E away from him and/or the rest of his team.
Caitlyn
Caitlyn vs Ezreal in lane is fairly even and usually comes down to farming and macro plays but here is what I've compiled after my time playing Ezreal. Mobility: Ezreal's Arcane Shift allows him to easily dodge Caitlyn's skillshots, such as Piltover Peacemaker (Q) or Yordle Snap Trap (W). This mobility makes it challenging for Caitlyn to land her poke consistently, giving Ezreal the upper hand in trades. Sustained Damage vs. Burst: Ezreal typically deals sustained damage with his Mystic Shot and auto-attacks, while Caitlyn relies more on burst damage with her Headshot procs and Piltover Peacemaker. Ezreal's sustained damage can wear down Caitlyn's health over time, especially if he can consistently land Mystic Shots. Mid-Game Power Spike: Ezreal often reaches his power spike with two items, such as Manamune and Iceborn Gauntlet or Trinity Force, whereas Caitlyn's power tends to peak later in the game. Ezreal can leverage this mid-game strength to pressure Caitlyn and potentially secure objectives before Caitlyn reaches her full potential. Caitlyn Counters Ezreal: Range Advantage: Caitlyn has longer auto-attack range than Ezreal, allowing her to harass him from a safer distance. She can utilize her superior range to zone Ezreal away from farm and pressure him under turret, denying him gold and experience. Siege Potential: Caitlyn's kit, particularly her Piltover Peacemaker and Ace in the Hole (R), provides her with strong siege potential. She can poke Ezreal and his team from afar, forcing them to engage or give up objectives. Traps: Caitlyn's Yordle Snap Traps can be used to control areas of the map and create zones that Ezreal must avoid. If Ezreal steps on a trap, Caitlyn can capitalize on the immobilize effect to land additional damage or set up ganks from her jungler or support. Late-Game Scaling: While Ezreal has a strong mid-game spike, Caitlyn scales well into the late game with her high auto-attack damage and scaling critical strikes. If Caitlyn can safely reach her late-game items, she can become a significant threat to Ezreal and his team.
Draven
Early Game Dominance: Draven is known for his incredibly strong early game due to the bonus gold from his Adoration passive. This allows him to build a significant advantage in lane, especially against champions like Ezreal who typically have a weaker early game. Draven can pressure Ezreal early on, denying him farm and potentially securing kills. High Damage Output: Draven's Spinning Axes (Q) ability grants him significant bonus damage on his basic attacks. When caught, Draven can dish out massive amounts of damage very quickly, often out-trading Ezreal in short engagements. Trading Potential: Draven's high damage output makes trading with him risky for Ezreal, especially in extended fights. Even if Ezreal tries to poke Draven from range, Draven can retaliate with his own damage and potentially come out ahead in trades. Limited Mobility for Ezreal: Ezreal's mobility with Arcane Shift is helpful for dodging skillshots and repositioning in team fights, but it has a relatively long cooldown early on. Draven can capitalize on this cooldown window by engaging aggressively on Ezreal, knowing that Ezreal won't be able to easily escape. Snowball Potential: If Draven manages to get kills early in the game, he can snowball out of control due to the bonus gold from his Adoration passive. Once Draven starts snowballing, it becomes increasingly difficult for Ezreal to deal with him, as Draven's damage output becomes overwhelming. Intimidation Factor: Draven's aggressive playstyle and potential to snowball can often intimidate Ezreal players, causing them to play more defensively and miss out on opportunities to farm or trade effectively.
Tristana
Tristana's range increases as the game progresses, allowing her to outrange Ezreal later on. Her burst damage potential with her explosive charge can quickly take down Ezreal if she catches him off guard.
Varus
Varus can match Ezreal's poke with his own long-range abilities and has the ability to lock him down with his ultimate, Chain of Corruption, making it easier for his team to follow up and secure a kill.
Jhin
Jhin's long-range abilities and high burst damage can make it difficult for Ezreal to trade effectively. Jhin's Deadly Flourish can also root Ezreal in place, setting up for further damage.
Ashe
Ashe's long-range poke with her Volley ability can pressure Ezreal in lane. Additionally, her ultimate, Enchanted Crystal Arrow, can initiate fights or catch Ezreal out of position.
Leona
Leona's crowd control abilities can easily lock down Ezreal, making him an easy target for her ADC to follow up with damage. Her engage potential can also catch Ezreal off guard, especially if he's relying on his mobility to escape.
Blitzcrank
Blitzcrank's Rocket Grab can pull Ezreal out of position, exposing him to follow-up damage from his ADC. His presence in lane also forces Ezreal to be cautious about positioning behind minions. Thus this inhibits his ability to poke with Q and has to rely entirely on Auto Attacks to deal damage.
Bard
Bard's roaming potential and crowd control abilities can create opportunities to catch Ezreal out of position. His Cosmic Binding can stun Ezreal against terrain, leaving him vulnerable to follow-up damage.
Alistar
Alistar's crowd control and tankiness make him a threat to Ezreal. He can engage onto Ezreal and disrupt his positioning, making it easier for his ADC to follow up with damage.
Thresh
Thresh's crowd control and displacement abilities can disrupt Ezreal's positioning and make it difficult for him to escape engages. A well-timed Death Sentence or Flay can punish Ezreal for mispositioning.
Nami
Nami's sustain, poke, and crowd control can make it difficult for Ezreal to find favorable trades. Her Aqua Prison can lock him down, setting up for additional damage from her ADC.
Vayne
Ezreal's early-game strength and poke potential can delay the power spikes of scaling ADCs. He can pressure them in lane, denying her farm and experience, and potentially delaying her transition into the late game where she excels.
Jinx
Ezreal's poke and mobility can be particularly punishing for squishy ADCs with limited mobility. He can harass them from afar while avoiding their engage attempts, making it difficult for them to retaliate or escape.
Kog'Maw
Ezreal's poke can disrupt the rhythm of attack-speed-reliant ADCs during laning phase. He can consistently chip away at their health with Mystic Shot, preventing them from freely stacking their damage output.
Lucian
Ezreal's poke and range advantage allow him to harass short-range ADCs safely from a distance. He can kite them effectively with Mystic Shot and Arcane Shift, making it challenging for them to engage or trade effectively.
Kai'Sa
Range Advantage: Ezreal typically has a longer effective range than Kai'Sa, especially in the early levels. He can use his Mystic Shot to poke Kai'Sa from a distance, making it difficult for her to retaliate effectively, as her abilities require her to get closer to the target. Mobility: Ezreal's Arcane Shift gives him high mobility, allowing him to easily dodge Kai'Sa's skillshots such as her Void Seeker (W) or her Void Spike (Q). This makes it challenging for Kai'Sa to land her damage reliably, while Ezreal can continue to harass her from range. Safe Farming: Ezreal's Mystic Shot allows him to safely farm from a distance, minimizing the risk of getting engaged upon by Kai'Sa or her support. This can deny Kai'Sa the opportunity to snowball in the early game, where she is relatively weaker compared to her late-game scaling. Poke vs. All-In: Ezreal's playstyle is more poke-oriented, while Kai'Sa excels in all-in engagements. By continuously poking Kai'Sa from range, Ezreal can prevent her from finding favorable all-in opportunities, where she can utilize her burst damage potential. Itemization: Ezreal's build path often includes items like Iceborn Gauntlet, which provide him with additional utility or survivability. These items can make it more difficult for Kai'Sa to burst him down quickly in trades or all-ins.
Twitch
Range Disadvantage: Twitch typically outranges Ezreal, especially once he has acquired items like Runaan's Hurricane and Infinity Edge. This allows Twitch to harass Ezreal from a distance with his basic attacks while Ezreal struggles to retaliate effectively due to his shorter auto-attack range. Burst Damage Potential: Twitch's burst damage potential with his Ambush (Q) and Spray and Pray (R) abilities can catch Ezreal off guard. If Twitch positions well and manages to surprise Ezreal with an ambush or a well-timed ultimate, he can quickly burst him down before Ezreal can react or escape with Arcane Shift. Sustained Damage: Twitch's Venom Cask (W) and Expunge (E) combo can deal significant sustained damage over time, especially if Ezreal gets caught in the crowd control or fails to avoid Twitch's abilities. This sustained damage output can wear down Ezreal's health bar in extended trades or team fights. Stealth Engage: Twitch's ability to go invisible with Ambush allows him to set up surprise engages or ganks, catching Ezreal off guard. This stealth mechanic can make it difficult for Ezreal to position safely or anticipate Twitch's movements, especially if he lacks vision control. Late Game Scaling: While Ezreal has a strong mid-game power spike with his two-item core (e.g., Manamune and Trinity Force/Iceborn Gauntlet), Twitch often scales even better into the late game with his hyper carry potential. If the game goes late, Twitch can become increasingly difficult for Ezreal to deal with due to his high damage output in team fights.
Miss Fortune
Range Advantage: Ezreal typically has longer effective range than Miss Fortune, especially with his Mystic Shot ability. He can poke Miss Fortune from a safe distance, making it difficult for her to retaliate effectively, as her abilities have shorter ranges. Mobility: Ezreal's Arcane Shift provides him with high mobility, allowing him to easily dodge Miss Fortune's skillshots such as Double Up (Q) or Bullet Time (R). This makes it challenging for Miss Fortune to land her abilities reliably, while Ezreal can continue to harass her from range. Safe Farming: Ezreal's Mystic Shot allows him to safely farm from a distance, minimizing the risk of getting engaged upon by Miss Fortune or her support. This can deny Miss Fortune the opportunity to establish lane dominance through aggressive trades or all-ins. Sustain Damage vs. Burst Damage: Miss Fortune relies more on burst damage with her abilities, especially when she lands her Double Up or Bullet Time on a target with her Love Tap passive. Ezreal's sustained damage with Mystic Shot and consistent auto-attacks can wear down Miss Fortune's health over time, making it difficult for her to find favorable all-in opportunities. Itemization: Ezreal's build path often includes items like Iceborn Gauntlet, which provide him with additional utility or survivability. These items can mitigate Miss Fortune's burst damage potential and make it more difficult for her to burst him down quickly in trades or all-ins.
Lulu
Synergy with Ezreal's kit: Lulu's abilities complement Ezreal's playstyle well. Ezreal is a mobile, poke-oriented ADC who relies on skill shots for damage. Lulu's abilities, particularly her buffs and crowd control, can enhance Ezreal's effectiveness by providing him with additional survivability and utility. Protective abilities: Lulu's kit includes a shield, a movement speed boost, and a polymorph ability (her W, Whimsy) that can turn enemies into harmless critters. These abilities allow her to peel for Ezreal effectively, keeping him safe from assassins or divers trying to reach him in team fights. Ability to enable aggressive plays: Lulu's ultimate, Wild Growth, not only provides a significant health boost but also knocks up enemies in the area. This can be used aggressively to initiate fights or defensively to disengage when Ezreal is in danger. Lane dominance and poke: Lulu's harassment potential in lane can help Ezreal establish lane dominance. Her poke with Glitterlance can zone out opponents, allowing Ezreal to farm safely and potentially set up kills with his own poke. Scaling into late game: Lulu's utility scales well into the late game, making her a valuable support for Ezreal even as the game progresses. Her ability to buff allies and disrupt enemies becomes increasingly impactful as team fights become more frequent and decisive.
Thresh
CC and Peel: Thresh's kit is loaded with crowd control and peel abilities. His Death Sentence (Q) can hook enemies from a distance, setting up kills or creating opportunities for Ezreal to follow up with damage. His Flay (E) can disrupt enemy engages or disengage threats from Ezreal, providing crucial protection. Engage and Disengage: Thresh's ability to engage fights with his hook or disengage with his Flay and Lantern (W) makes him versatile in various situations. Ezreal, being a mobile ADC, can follow up on Thresh's engages or use the Lantern for a quick escape if caught out of position. Synergy with Ezreal's Arcane Shift: Thresh's kit synergizes well with Ezreal's Arcane Shift (E). Thresh's lantern can be used as a tool for Ezreal to reposition safely, either for engages or escapes. This combination enhances Ezreal's already high mobility, making him even harder to pin down by the enemy team. Lane Pressure: Thresh's presence in lane adds significant pressure. His zoning potential with his hook threat forces enemies to play cautiously, allowing Ezreal to farm safely or harass opponents with Mystic Shot (Q). Item Synergy: Thresh's ability to collect souls for additional armor and ability power through his passive, Damnation, makes him tankier as the game progresses. This indirectly benefits Ezreal, as a tankier support can better protect him in team fights and skirmishes. Versatility in Build Paths: Thresh's itemization is flexible, allowing him to adapt to various game states. He can opt for tanky items to frontline for Ezreal or build more utility-oriented items to enhance his crowd control and peel potential.
Nami
Sustain and Poke: Nami's abilities provide sustain and poke in lane, which complements Ezreal's poke-heavy playstyle. Her Ebb and Flow (W) heals allies and damages enemies in a bouncing wave, allowing Ezreal to stay healthy during laning phase while also dealing damage to opponents. Crowd Control: Nami has crowd control in her kit, which can be used to set up kills or peel for Ezreal. Her Aqua Prison (Q) is a bubble that stuns enemies caught in its area of effect, providing a reliable form of hard crowd control to initiate or follow up on engagements. Movement Speed Buff: Nami's passive, Surging Tides, grants bonus movement speed to allies she hits with her abilities. This synergizes well with Ezreal's mobility, allowing him to reposition more effectively in fights or chase down enemies with his Mystic Shot (Q) and Arcane Shift (E). Tidal Wave (R): Nami's ultimate ability, Tidal Wave, is a wide-reaching wave that knocks up enemies and slows them. This ultimate can be used defensively to disengage from unfavorable fights or offensively to engage and lock down priority targets, setting up Ezreal for follow-up damage. Lane Pressure: Nami's poke and sustain abilities contribute to lane pressure, allowing Ezreal to farm safely or harass opponents with Mystic Shot (Q). Additionally, her crowd control can punish opponents for overextending, making it easier for Ezreal to secure kills or zone enemies from farm. Versatility in Build Paths: Nami's itemization options allow her to adapt to different situations. She can build towards supportive items to enhance Ezreal's effectiveness or opt for more defensive items to provide additional protection against enemy threats.
Yuumi
Synergy with Ezreal's Playstyle: Yuumi's kit complements Ezreal's playstyle very well. Ezreal is a highly mobile ADC who relies heavily on skill shots for damage, and Yuumi's abilities can enhance his effectiveness by providing additional utility, sustain, and crowd control. Sustain and Healing: Yuumi's primary ability, Zoomies (E), provides constant healing and a small burst of speed when attached to an ally. This sustain can keep Ezreal healthy during the laning phase and throughout team fights, allowing him to stay in fights longer and deal more damage. Attach and Detach Mechanics: Yuumi's ability to attach to Ezreal and grant him bonus adaptive force from her You and Me! (W) ability enhances his damage output significantly. She can also detach briefly to proc her passive, Bop 'n' Block, to provide additional poke damage. Safety and Mobility: Yuumi's You and Me! (W) grants Ezreal additional mobility and safety during fights. She can attach to him, allowing him to reposition with her, making it harder for enemies to lock him down. Additionally, her ultimate, Final Chapter (R), provides a strong zoning tool and slows enemies, making it easier for Ezreal to land his skill shots. Lane Pressure: Yuumi's poke potential with her Q ability, Prowling Projectile, adds pressure to the lane, allowing Ezreal to farm safely or harass opponents with his Mystic Shot (Q). Her ability to attach and detach also allows her to scout for potential threats while Ezreal farms.
Bard
Roaming Potential: Bard's mobility allows him to roam around the map effectively, leaving Ezreal to farm safely in lane. This roaming capability enables Bard to create opportunities for his team through vision control, ganking other lanes, or securing objectives like Rift Herald or Dragon. Crowd Control: Bard has crowd control in his kit, particularly his Cosmic Binding (Q) and Tempered Fate (R). Cosmic Binding stuns enemies when it hits both an enemy champion and a terrain, providing setup potential for Ezreal's damage. Tempered Fate is an AoE ability that can freeze enemies in stasis, allowing for easy follow-up from Ezreal or his teammates. Sustain and Poke: Bard's shrines (W) provide sustain for both himself and Ezreal in lane, allowing them to stay healthy and maintain pressure. Additionally, Bard's meeps enhance his basic attacks with bonus damage and slow, which can be used to poke enemies and set up engages. Magical Journey (E): Bard's Magical Journey ability allows for creative and unexpected rotations around the map. This can catch opponents off-guard and provide Ezreal with opportunities to catch enemies out of position or escape dangerous situations. Utility and Versatility: Bard's kit offers a mix of utility and versatility, with abilities that can be used offensively, defensively, or for map control. This flexibility allows Bard to adapt to different situations and support Ezreal effectively throughout the game. Scaling Potential: Bard's utility scales well into the late game, making him a valuable asset in team fights and skirmishes. His crowd control and utility can turn the tide of battles, providing Ezreal with the tools he needs to succeed in team fights.
Leona
Engage Potential: Leona excels at engaging fights with her Zenith Blade (E) and Solar Flare (R). Her ability to lock down targets with stuns allows Ezreal to follow up with his damage safely, often resulting in successful kills or advantageous trades in lane and team fights. Synergy with Ezreal's Burst: Ezreal is capable of dealing significant burst damage, especially when he lands consecutive Mystic Shots (Q) and follows up with his ultimate, Trueshot Barrage. Leona's crowd control allows Ezreal to reliably hit his skill shots, maximizing his damage output and securing kills. Lane Pressure: Leona's presence in lane adds significant pressure due to her all-in potential. Her ability to engage fights or threaten engages forces opponents to play defensively, allowing Ezreal to farm safely or harass enemies with Mystic Shot (Q). Tankiness and Protection: Leona's naturally tanky build and crowd control abilities make her an effective frontline for Ezreal. She can absorb damage and peel for him during team fights, allowing Ezreal to position more aggressively and deal damage without worrying too much about enemy threats. Kill Potential: The combination of Leona's crowd control and Ezreal's damage output creates a high kill potential in lane. A well-timed engage from Leona can often result in kills or summoner spell burns from the enemy bot lane, providing Ezreal with an advantage in lane. Scaling into Mid and Late Game: Leona remains relevant throughout the game due to her crowd control and tankiness. As the game progresses, she can continue to engage fights and peel for Ezreal effectively, allowing him to scale into the mid and late game where he becomes a potent damage threat.
Morgana
Black Shield (E): Morgana's Black Shield provides a powerful defensive tool for Ezreal. It can block most forms of crowd control, such as stuns, roots, and slows, allowing Ezreal to position more aggressively in fights or escape from dangerous situations without being interrupted. Catch Potential: Morgana's Dark Binding (Q) is a long-range skillshot that roots the first enemy hit. This ability sets up opportunities for Ezreal to land his Mystic Shot (Q) or Arcane Shift (E), potentially leading to kills or favorable trades in lane. Lane Pressure: Morgana's Tormented Soil (W) provides consistent damage over time and can be used to push waves quickly or zone enemies from farm. This pressure can give Ezreal space to farm safely or harass opponents with his Mystic Shot. Utility in Team Fights: Morgana's ultimate ability, Soul Shackles (R), tethers enemies within range, dealing damage and slowing them. If enemies do not break the tether, they will be stunned. This ability can be used to initiate fights, peel for Ezreal, or disrupt enemy engages, giving Ezreal time to deal damage safely. Synergy with Ezreal's Poke: Morgana's long-range abilities synergize well with Ezreal's poke-heavy playstyle. She can soften up targets with Dark Binding or Tormented Soil, making it easier for Ezreal to finish them off with Mystic Shot from a safe distance. Scaling and Itemization: Morgana scales well into the late game with her crowd control and utility. She can build supportive items to enhance Ezreal's effectiveness or opt for more damage-oriented items to provide additional threat in team fights.
Lux
Poke and Burst Damage: Lux provides long-range poke and burst damage, similar to Ezreal. Her abilities, particularly her Lucent Singularity (E) and Final Spark (R), can deal significant damage from a distance, complementing Ezreal's poke-oriented playstyle. Crowd Control: Lux brings crowd control to the bot lane with her Light Binding (Q) and Lucent Singularity (E). These abilities can root or slow enemies, setting up opportunities for Ezreal to follow up with his Mystic Shot (Q) or Arcane Shift (E). Synergy in Combos: Lux's Light Binding (Q) can root enemies in place, allowing Ezreal to land his Mystic Shot (Q) more easily for additional damage. Additionally, Lux's ultimate, Final Spark (R), can be used to soften up targets for Ezreal to finish off or secure kills from afar. Protection and Shielding: Lux's Prismatic Barrier (W) provides a shield to protect both herself and Ezreal from incoming damage. This shield can mitigate poke from the enemy bot lane or provide additional survivability in team fights. Zone Control: Lux's Lucent Singularity (E) creates an area of effect slow, zoning enemies away or forcing them to reposition. This can be useful for controlling objectives like Dragon or Baron, giving Ezreal and his team more control over key areas of the map. Siege Potential: Lux and Ezreal have strong siege potential when paired together. Their long-range poke and wave clear abilities make it difficult for enemies to defend turrets, allowing them to chip away at structures from a safe distance. Scalability: Both Lux and Ezreal scale well into the late game. Lux's burst damage remains potent, while Ezreal's damage output increases as he completes his core items. This makes them a formidable duo in team fights as the game progresses.

Scaling into Mid and Late Game: Leona remains relevant throughout the game due to her crowd control and tankiness. As the game progresses, she can continue to engage fights and peel for Ezreal effectively, allowing him to scale into the mid and late game where he becomes a potent damage threat.
