Hello there!

Welcome to my Fizz guide (Fizz Guide:Fizzsticks!) and also my first ever guide to make.
This guide might look a little bit odd to the experienced Fizz-players, BUT I will explain you all about my Fizz build down here.
There also will be some useful tips and tricks for the new Fizzies out there!

If you have never played Fizz I would strongly advice you to check him out, he is really fun to play!
And after my first game he became my first and so far my last favorite Champion!

I would really appreciate if you up or down vote my build and give me some comments about what to improve.

Pros / Cons


+Very high burst damage.
+Fun to play due to his skills.
+Good in one verses one fights
+His ulti is a good opener for the team fight
+Good feeling when you land your ulti.


-When focused hard to survive
-His ulti can be tricky

Summoner Spells

Flash is very useful to get out of those sticky situations. Like a towerdive for example. But it will also give you a ton of extra escape possibilities. More explenation further in this guide.

Ignite is really useful like with allmost all champions to get that final damage. With Fizz it will really help you a lot to get those early game kills which are pretty important. Together with your Seastone Trident the damage can add up really fast!


Ghost can be usefull to chase or run away from the enemies. But still I prefer using Flash

Teleport can be handy if you want to do a lot of ganks. It gives you a lot of map mobility and with your small cooldown on Chum the Waters it can really pay of to take this summoner spell


You don't really need Exhaust because you can really easily catch up with your fleeing opponent by using Playful / Trickster and Urchin Strike. It is even possible to just throw your Chum the Waters on him and he won't be able to escape.

You don't really need Barrier because Fizz has a ton of escape possibilities. And if you have your Zhonya's Hourglass and Guardian Angel you can survive those moments where you just can't run.

Greater Quintessence of Ability Power these runes will give you the advantage in the early game to do some more damage.

Greater Glyph of Ability Power these will enlarge your damage even more. So you will have that edge above your opponent.

Greater Glyph of Magic Resist if you want to have a little more defense against your enemy these glyph's might help you out

Greater Seal of Armor because Fizz is so squishy these runes will reduce the chance of dieing directly when you experience a lot of incoming burst damage or normal overtime damage.

Greater Mark of Magic Penetration with these runes you will do even more damage, so the reason to pick these is pretty obvious.

Materies are 21/9/0 because it is pretty important to have a good early game damage.
And some defensive mastery's so you can stay longer in lane and to give Fizz a little more lane sustain.

Offensive mastery's

Summoner's Wrath since we have Ignite as a pretty important Spell this mastery will give you some ability power advantage while on cooldown, which means more damage output.

Sorcery this will reduce your cooldown. What can allow you to do your "E" just in time to survive an attack.

Blast more ability power means more damage.

Arcane Knowledge this will give you that extra poke in the early game.

Havoc gives you more damage. I think it's obvious why you should take this.

Mental Force more ability power means more destruction

Spellsword more damage in your basic attacks. Good for farming and fighting.

Archmage again more ability power.

Executioner like it says, helps when you go for the kill.

[color=#00ffff]Defensive mastery's[/color]

Durability will give you that extra health you need to escape from nasty situations.

Hardiness will help you reduce the damage recieved by minions, champions and neutral monsters.

Resistance will be a big help against your opponent.

Veteran's Scars this will grant you a little more lane sustain early on the game.

Skill Sequence

Urchin Strike on level 2 / 14 / 15 / 17 / 18

Your "Q" is the easiest way to deal some damage. It's good to take it on level 2. But you shouldn't max it untill level 14.

Seastone Trident on level 3 / 4 / 7 / 8 / 9

Your "W" is very important for your farming. You will notice that last hitting is way easier.
Also if you use your "Q" the effect of Seastone Trident will be applied and the damage will be higher.

Playful / Trickster on level 1 / 5 / 10 / 12 /13

You will notice that your "E" is a good way to move faster. And is a good way to deal damage to enemies or to kill a lot of Minions at once. This will be very handy when you are playing defensive.

Chum the Waters on level 6 / 11 / 16

Your ulti will be very good to slow a running enemy down of open the attack on one or multiple enemies.

Tips And Tricks!

Well when you play some Fizz you are going to find out that the Urchin Strike - Seastone Trident combo is going to be one of your main sources of damage. Mostly I only use Playful / Trickster to escape or close a gap between me and my enemy. Yet I take Playful / Trickster as my first skill because it allows you to poke your lane enemy without taking damage and to avoid their attacks, this makes you can stay longer in lane and will be able to get the farming/killing advantage.

Seastone Trident is a really good tool to farm and get some buffs. It increases your damage and you will notice that your last hitting is a ton more easy.

A useful trick with Playful / Trickster is that you can jump over small walls. This allows you to suddenly gank up to an enemy from an unexpected direction. Or to escape. When you are running you can quickly go through/over 2 walls and lose your enemies. Using this skill and your Flash
You do have to train the jumping over walls a little so you know which walls you can go over and which you don't.

Another very effective way to escape is this: When you notice that your enemy is faster then you and you can't outrun him. Try to do your Urchin Strike on him. This will make you end up at the opposite side of him and facing the other side. Then run the opposite side. Use your Playful / Trickster to increase the gap and IF necessary you can use your Flash. Because you suddenly run in the opposite direction the enemy will need his time to figure this out and how to react. This element of surprise will save your life!

The reason I start with Sapphire Crystal is because you will need a lot of mana to avoid and poke the enemy and with this item you can stay longer in lane.

Sheen will let you poke a little harder. And gives you more mana and ability power.

Sorcerer's Shoes are there to give you more Magic Pentration to empower your Seastone Trident

Blasting Wand is a basic and cheap item that gives you more ability power and where you can build a lot of items from.

catalyst the protector is a useful item which will give you more health and mana, which you need in the game. Also it has a good passive for the early game.

Lich Bane is maybe the most important item in this build. It allows you to do a ton of damage with an autoattack which you do after a skill. Use your imagination how much more damage you can do with this item.

Rod of Ages will give you some more health, mana and ability power. From this point on you dont need to worry anymore about your mana.

Zhonya's Hourglass gives you a ton more ability power. And her active is very useful if you are in a situation you can't run out and survive. Mostly teamfights or ganks.

Guardian Angel this items active is really good to combine with Zhonya's Hourglass these two items give you two more possibilities to survive nasty situations. (you can now: Kill, Run, Die and revive with Guardian Angel, Freeze and wait for your allies with Zhonya's Hourglass)

Rabadon's Deathcap this item doesn't need explanation. If you have Rabadon's Deathcap your ability power and damage will increase significantly.

Champion Match-Ups

The bigger the picture the harder the opponent is..

Annie is pretty tricky. She can easily poke you with her ranged attacks. And if she stuns you it gets really dangerous. Try to harass her a lot in the early stages. Keep your "E" close to avoid her stun!

play very defensive. Wait your right time and then go full attack. His passive Iron Man is pretty dangerous against Fizz

he is really dangerous! Try to play defensive. Don't play to kill. Farm good and when someone ganks try to get the kill until you get the upperhand.

she is a good counter. She will keep harrasing you with her Shunpo and then come in for the kill. PAY ATTENTION

Just let her know that you are the boss! Dont be afraid to land your "E" into her circle when you notice you have the upperhand.

watch out for her "E" and her ultimate. Try to move enough in various directions. Don't be to greedy.

depends on your enemies skill. Try to be inventive and play unusual so he doesn't know what to do.

his attacks are easy to avoid. But he can easily damage you when you don't pay attention because he doesn't have to come close like you do.

stay out of her circle and you will be ok. I still have to test if you can jump over her wall.

keep your eyes open with brand. He is easy to counter but when he lands some skills on you, it can suddenly add up.

He will be no problem.

since her main damage output is her spear you won't have any problem. With Fizz keep moving to avoid it like you do with all champs. But don't forget you have a new way of avoiding, your "E".

she is NO PROBLEM. Just keep an eye on her ball and keep your Playful / Trickster close.

easy he won't make any trouble. But pay attention with his "Q" if he hits that on you he can do some damage.

pure skillshots this lady. Easy to avoid!
