Introduction
About Me
Hey guys, my name is Thanos. I'm a jungle main, but I dabble in top and mid also. I've been playing League since season 6 and my favorite champs of all time are Sion, Shaco, Gangplank, and Fizz. I love making guides that people can just have fun with casually and challenge the meta. But I also make sure that these builds are at least somewhat viable, so you can do well. I don't advertise myself to be a good player or to be the best in the world at these champions, but I feel that I have played them enough to understand how to play them and teach others. If you're interested, here are some of my other guides that you can try out! Full AP Nunu, Rock 'em Sock 'em Blitzcrank (More to come soon!)
I'm just gonna go over why I chose each rune that I did in this section. I believe that these are arguably the best runes for this type of build, but let me know if you have suggestions. :)
Domination
Electrocute-
Hitting a champion with 3 separate attacks or abilities in 3s deals bonus adaptive damage
For me this one is pretty obvious. Sion's potential to hit 3 abilities back to back is very strong. You could use your Roar of the Slayer, then charge up your Decimating Smash while charging up your Soul Furnace, and finally finish it off with your Unstoppable Onslaught and reactivating your Soul Furnace. Will almost always kill the enemy depending on their max health.
Cheap Shot-
Damaging champions with impaired movement or actions deals 12-30 bonus true damage (based on level).
Cooldown: 4 seconds
Activates on damage occurring after the impairment.
Another pretty obvious one, 3 of Sion's abilities impair the enemy's movements. Decimating Smash is a stun/slow, Roar of the Slayer is a slow, and Unstoppable Onslaught is a knock-up/slow. So you have the chance to do 90 true damage which is definitely pretty decent.
Eyeball Collection-
Collect eyeballs for champion and ward takedowns. Gain an adaptive bonus of 0.6 Attack Damage or 1 Ability Power per eyeball collected.
Upon completing your collection at 20 eyeballs, additionally gain an adaptive bonus of 6 attack damage, or 10 ability power.
Collect 2 eyeballs per champion takedown, 1 eyeball per ward takedown.
Not much to this one. Ghost Poro is more for jungling in my opinion and Zombie Ward I feel is less useful than Eyeball Collection because it doesn't give you any extra AD.
Precision
Coup de Grace-
Deal 10% more damage to champions who have less than 40% health.
Additionally, takedowns on champions grant an adaptive bonus of 9 Attack Damage or 15 Ability Power for 10 seconds.
Helps for picking up kills where you wouldn't have because of not having that extra damage. Also helps with your passive Glory in Death because you'll be doing that extra 10% damage on top of that 10% of max health as on-hit damage per auto attack. Additionally, Coup de Grace allows you to do more in team fights as long as you get the kill because you'll be doing an additional 9 AD, which isn't much but it's better than nothing.
Legend: Alacrity-
Gain 3% attack speed plus an additional 1.5% for every Legend stack (max 10 stacks).
Legend: Gain Legend stacks for every 20 points earned, up to 10:
20 points for champion takedowns
20 points for epic monster takedowns
5 points for large monster kills
1 points for minion kills
Attack speed is always nice on AD Sion. It really helps with Glory in Death because of the insane damage it does already but now you'll do all of that damage faster. It also helps to finish off some kills because your auto attacks also do quite a bit of damage, so don't underestimate your auto attacks and only rely on your abilities.
Pros:
+ Very high damage
+ A lot of CC
+ Amazing engage (One of the best imo.)
+ Good poke
+ Good early game
+ Good tower damage
+ Fun :)
Cons:
- Not very tanky
- Can juke abilities somewhat easy
- Tanks can be a problem
- Late game is okay but not great
I feel like with this build there are more positives than negatives. As long as you cs well and get a few kills on your enemy laner, you can pop off and one shot most of the team. Just make sure you hit your combos or just your abilities in general. Poke is a huge part in playing AD Sion so if you need to make sure you can hit your E + Q combo. The only champs you might have a problem with are high mobility champs and some high damage champs like Fiora or Gangplank.
Combo 1: Roar of the Slayer (E), Charge up Decimating Smash (Q) and Soul Furnace (W), Release Decimating Smash (Q) which will knock them up if you charged it long enough, Unstoppable Onslaught (R), Reactivate Soul Furnace (W) which will release the damage, and finally just AA and Ignite until they die.
TL;DR- E, Charge Q, W, Release Q, R, Reactivate W, AA, Ignite.
Combo 2: Unstoppable Onslaught (R), Charge up Decimating Smash (Q) and Soul Furnace (W), Release Decimating Smash (Q), Roar of the Slayer (E), Reactivate Soul Furnace (W), AA and Ignite until they die.
TL;DR- R, Charge Q, W, Release Q, E, Reactivate W, AA, Ignite.
