Introduction

Hey everyone, welcome to my first mobafire build! I originally made this guide because Evelynn was my main champion, but now that she has been changed I don't play her very often. And I just updated the guide, so I haven't added some of the sections yet, but I will add it as soon as possible so note that mostly everything written under this is for the AP guide. Make sure to vote up if you thought the guide was useful :). Now, let's talk a little about the champion. I personally think Evelynn is the BEST assasin champions in the game, she has been buffed recently she can prove to be a very big threat to the enemy team. Early game you should be able to take down any enemy if they are not fed. You could go AP and either support a carry at bot or mid; or you could go AD and either jungle or solo top. Evelynn can take about every role (except for AD carry) which is why I really like this champ. Good luck and have fun playing Evelynn :).

Greater Mark of Magic Penetration will give you 8.55 Magic Penetration. This is essential when assassinating someone, everyone has magic resistance so if you do not include this penetration your abilities will do minimal amounts of damage.
Greater Seal of Health will give you 48 additional health points. Since Evelynn is a very frail champion you will need to get some health points so that you don't die every minute. survivability will be easier as well, trust me you will survive a lot more.
Greater Glyph of Ability Power will supply you with 11 ability power. All mages need as much ability power as possible. Early game this ability power will prove to be very useful since her new main ability hate pike is a 0.5 ability power ratio.
Greater Quintessence of Ability Power will get you 15 more ability power. I have mentioned that mages need as much ability power as they can get, especially early game. With these runes you will have about 26 ability power at the start of the game.

Greater Mark of Attack Damage will give you a total of 8.85 attack damage which is great for when you are top because you will need as much attack damage as you can get because when start a fight early in the game you are going to need the extra power.
Greater Seal of Armor gives you a total of 12.69 armor, and I take this because Evelynn isn't a tanky champ, and needs that durability to survive in fights and such since enemies always seem to focus her down.
Greater Glyph of Attack Speed gives you a total of 5.76% attack speed, which good because Evelynn doesn't have that much attack speed, and it's good when last hitting as well as dueling opponents.
Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage gives you a total of 6.25 attack damage, and I said earlier about how it's an overall good rune to take when you need that attack damage, especially early in the game.

Greater Mark of Attack Damage gives you a total of 8.85 attack damage which helps with killing the jungle faster which saves health and time. Also it helps ensure kills, because if you can kill them faster they cannot run.
Greater Seal of Armor gives you a total of 12.69 armor, which helps a lot while jungling, and reduces a lot of damage dealt by monsters so that you can stay in the jungle for longer periods of time etc.
Greater Glyph of Magic Resist gives you exactly 12.06 magic resist, which is good for late game, since you will not be buying any magic resist in this build it is good to have some with runes at least, this should prove to help you a lot.
Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed gives a total of 4.5% movement speed which makes up for the fact that you are getting berserker's grieves which is tier 2 speed. Also you can get around the jungle faster while saving more time and leading to faster ganks.

Summoner Spells

Flash


It is extremely recommended that you get the spell of Flash, at all times. This is because you need to get away from many sticky situations with Evelynn, she already has a free Ghost for her Dark Frenzy, though that isn't enough to get away from most ganks, Flash will ensure that you can get enough time to get your Shadow Walk on, or it might just get those extra kills.

Ignite


Ignite is good when you are nuking someone. The last thing you want when you are killing someone is for the carry to Heal or shield and survive. So if you take Ignite you can cut their heal as well as give you a little more damage on them. At the same time it gives you passive ability power and attack damage. Substituting Ignite for other spells would be kind of like tossing away future kills.

Ghost


Ghost can be substituted for Flash since they both get you away from sticky situations, if you just want to run super fast you can grab Ghost to either close the distance in chasing and create distance for running away. One great thing about Ghost is that you can cast it while you are invisible without canceling your Shadow Walk.

Smite


if you want to go jungling of course you take Smite. Evelynn jungle is very good because when you gank they cannot see you with the sight ward and you can easily run past their minions. When counter jungling it is very easy to kill the enemy monsters without them seeing you. Also you can steal the enemy jungler's buffs easily using Shadow Walk to get close and Smite steal the buff when it is low.

You should always max Hate Spike first because it has a very low cool down, it is her main damage ability and is a great overall farming tool. Next max the Ravage for the extra magic damage, the attack speed isn't that bad either. Get an early point on Dark Frenzy, at level 4. At level 4 you should have all 4 abilities (don't get Dark Frenzy at level 3 since you can get Hate Spike) while taking Ravage at level 2. Of course get Agony's Embrace at level 6, 11, and 16 since it is her ultimate and it does a bunch of damage and gives armor etc.

Maxing Hate Spike for those early last hits and harass is always a good idea, it has a lot of range and can prove to do a lot of damage over time, also it does not take too much mana. I start getting more points and eventually max Ravage since it gives a lot of attack speed bonuses and a decent amount of damage. I also take an early point in Dark Frenzy for that speed buff.

Hate Spike is the perfect tool for jungling, it has a lot cool down, it can hit multiple monsters at the same time, and it does a large amount of damage that is why you should always max Hate Spike first when jungling. Then max Ravage for the attack speed bonus, and Dark Frenzy since it doesn't really get better when you put more points into it max it last.

Starting with a Kage's lucky pick you should get enough gold to compensate for the first 20 minutes or so. Then as soon as possible get a Blasting Wand with the exception of Boots. Proceed with a Mobility Boots to gank more often at top lane and mid lane. At this point you should get a Rabidon's Deathcap and this should get you a good amount of ability power for the first bit of the game. Now you should get Deathfire's grasp followed by a Lich Bane. At this point you will be a threat to the enemy team because you should be able to nuke down anyone who is your level or under, look for the squishy targets first ( Teemo and Ashe not Amumu or Shen). Now you can get a Rylai's Crystal Scepter because it will give you some health for late game and ensure that they cannot run from Evelynn. And a Void Staff should finish off the build which will smash though their magic resistance.

Rush philosopher stone early in the game so that you can start investing right away. Then buy Boots to go fast and proceed with Phage so that you can buy Trinity Force asap. Then for trucks of damage get Bloodthirster, Maw of Malmortius and Black Cleaver. Finally for survivability buy Guardian Angel.

Start off with Wriggle's Lantern because it gives armor, damage, lifesteal and a ward (overall perfect jungle item). Next take your berserker's grieves since you have movement quints and don't need Mobility Boots. Now for Trinity Force which gives you some health damage and speed etc. Bloodthirster and Phantom Dancer make you super powerful and Last Whisper just shreds through those armor stackers.

Farming


With Evelynn, farming isn't that hard when you have Hate Spike, but since you are probably supporting don't forget to buy a Kage's lucky pick for more income. But you will notice that your Hate Spike takes a large quantity of your mana, so you have to use it to last hit when your carry isn't in the lane. It isn't a big deal if you overextend while farming, you can just use your Dark Frenzy to run away from ganks, and it's a good idea that have sight wards down the river at all times so that you can see the enemy approaching for a gank. With Sheen or Lich Bane you can last hit easier, but caution, do not rush Sheen because it will not be amplified much from Evelynn's base damage that she has early game, it is only good when you have Lich Bane and more ability power.

Jungle Path

Start at wolves (which spawn at 0:40), and make sure your teammates 1) cover the bushes so that the enemy team doesn't counter jungle 2) damage wolves without taking any XP or gold. Next go for blue golems (which spawn at 0:55) with a good pull from your mid or top and use Smite when it is at about 450 health. Now go to wraiths (which also spawned at 0:40) making sure to align Hate Spike so that it hits all 4 wraiths. At this point you can either do double golems or red lizard elder, using smite on the dominant monster. Now you can finally gank a lane, if you are on blue side you can gank either mid or bot (whichever is low and/or pushed). Don't forget to rank your Hate Spike and use it constantly in order to kill the monsters faster etc. Here is a jungle rout showing where to go and where to gank.

Ganking (when roaming)


When supporting at bot early game ganks will be important in order to win the game, this is why you play roaming Evelynn and gank as much as possible, keep in mind that you will need a Mobility Boots to gank effectively, though you do not rush it. When you gank you must run behind the person you are ganking so they cannot get away also be aware that enemies will be able to see you if you get near, so make sure to attack them ASAP after they have seen you. Be aware of Vision Wards, you have to constantly ask your teammates for Vision Wards or any type of ward in the lane. You should visit top lane somewhere around level 4, then head to gank mid after you have enough to buy Blasting Wand and Boots. Keep spells like Arcane Shift in mind when ganking, if possible kill them before they have time to use their spells, or get your teammate to stun them to ensure the kill.

Getting kills (the place where kill-stealing is okay)


To get kills as Evelynn you must kill steal your team as hard as you can, I'm sure they will understand. It's worth it, during team fights you can instantly nuke down the enemy carry Caitlyn Ashe Varus Draven Kog'Maw etc). If you can get fed enough this will instantly win you the game. Get the most kills you possibly can before your team rages (this is an insta-win). If you don't kill steal your teammates you will not be able to buy your ability power and will probably be useless during fights and such. When a teamfight breaks out make sure to run behind the enemy with Mobility Boots watching out for oracles and straight for the carry (if unprotected by support ).

Some tricks


By the way, since Evelynn has been reworked many tricks have changed. First off Evelynn has a few tricks that you should be familiar with unless you are new to her. Okay, so you think people can see you when you come near right? Wrong, if you creep through the bush you can gank without being seen you can successfully gank while being super close to the enemy, but you need to make sure the enemy doesn't see you get in the bush or they will run off. Next, if you camp in one lane (mid for example) You will get them to waste all their money on pink ward, and after that you can just run top and they will never expect it since you have been mid a lot. But if you camp a lane real hard it will make the enemy really angry which might get them to RAGE QUIT. Also if anyone here didn't already know, your Dark Frenzy ability refreshes after you get a kill or assist, so the trick is to use it before getting a kill or assist then use it again and repeat (the enemy will be thinking "how the **** does she run so fast!?").

Summary

Basically Evelynn is a reworked champion and people aren't going to be good with her for a while, nor do they know her counters etc. BUT if you build her the right way you will not lose with Evelynn, you simply have to stack ability power so that you can kill important targets which will lead to a positive conclusion. Evelynn's abilities now have a good base damage but will not do much against enemies that have some durability, but that problem can be resolved with the Deathfire Grasp Void Staff and the rest of the combo. If the enemy purchases an Oracle's Elixirit will completely counter Evelynn unless she is very cautious. Finally with the right skill sequence you will have the traits of a powerful assassin that can take down almost any target you want without dying. And occasionally the enemy team will focus Evelynn for some unknown reason (even when she is useless towards her team) but it will be worth it when your team has aced theirs while you took all their ults and crowd control etc. So follow this build and you will have a good chance in winning your games as Evelynn.
