Introduction

Hey guys, whats up and welcome to my first guide on Kha'Zix, the Voidreaver. I play him as a tanky burst assassin. He can be played as a burst assassin, but i like to go for a more tanky build on basically everyone. He excels at dealing "tons of damage" with his Q and can evolve. This means he can upgrade 3 of his 4 abilites to become the ultimate predator.

Runes

Runes

Precision
Press the Attack
Lethal Tempo
Arcane Comet
Phase Rush
I know, these runes might not be the best with Kha'Kix. But I'm too Asian and cheap to buy any more and plus they work fine with me. I also like a somewhat equal total for my defensive runes if you hadn't noticed. Anyways the runes i use give a total of:
    14% Attack Speed
    11 Armor
    5.0 Armor Pen
    52 Health
    13 Magic Resist
All good stats on Kha'Zix. Now let us continue.

Masteries

Kha'Zix all the stuffs needed to jungle and do well in the game. You dont need anything else that the offensive tree gives (except the attack per damage one i guess), and the main point of the defensive is to get Tough Skin and Bladed Armor so you can reduce the damage of minions/jungle creeps by a bit and to get that Asianly powerful 6 damage return. (The 6 damage returned is considered a critical strike if you look at the end game stats.)

Items

Item Sequence

Health Potion 50
Health Potion 50
Health Potion 50
Health Potion 50
Health Potion 50
Boots 300
Long Sword 350
Mobility Boots 1000
Wriggle's Lantern 1800
The Brutalizer 1337
Phage 1100
Frozen Mallet 3100
Guardian Angel 3200
Infinity Edge 3300
Bloodthirster 3400

Pretty standard jungle items. You can go and get Boots and 3 health potions, but only if you can get a good leash and you have some armor runes and such. I tried it in a custom and i didnt survive red, but i made it very close. Its a much riskier way, but with a proper leash and runes it can work.

Now if you didn't get the boots, get them when you first get back. Also, a Long Sword is recommended if you have enough gold for the extra damage. 3 or so Health Pots could be nice to since you dont have any way for regenerating health in the jungle or after ganks.

The Wriggle's is a normal AD jungler item, and it comes with a free ward for Dragon, so why not? But the boots could be debated about. I like speed on Kha'Zix so i think that the Boots of Mobility are a good choice. With these yellow boots you get around 447 move speed. You can stick with Mercury Treads, Ninja Tabi for about 397 move speed and the MR/CC reduction with Mercury Treads or the Armor/Basic Attack Reduction with Ninja Tabi if you are feeling too squishy.

Grab a Phage to build into the Frozen Mallet later and the Brutalizer for some much needed damage, armor pen, and CD reduction.

Finish up dat Frozen Mallet for the slow and health and then proceed to annoy people with Guardian Angel.

Your damage should be good, so make it better and grab the Infinity Edge. Sell your Wriggle's if the game goes long enough and get the Bloodthirster for the life steal and damage.

Abilities

Unseen Threat
"When Kha'Zix is not visible to the enemy team, he gains Unseen Threat, causing his next basic attack against an enemy champion to deal 15 / 20 / 25 / 35 / 45 / 55 / 65 / 75 / 85 / 95 / 110 / 125 / 140 / 155 / 170 / 185 / 200 / 220 + (50% of ability power) bonus magic damage and slows by 35% for 2 seconds.

Unseen Threat lasts until consumed and has no cooldown."
Basically its a buff that lets you deal extra damage and a slow for your next auto attack. Pretty damn good.

*NOTE: You get the buff if no vision is on you from the enemy team even if you are not in a bush. You only get the extra damage and slow on ENEMY CHAMPIONS.

Taste Their Fear
"Passive: Marks isolated targets.

Active: Deals 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 / 190 (+1.6 per bonus attack damage) physical damage to a single target. Damage against isolated targets is significantly increased to 100 / 145 / 190 / 235 / 280 (+2.4 per bonus attack damage).

Evolving claws increases damage to isolated targets by 12% of their missing health. Kha'Zix also gains 50 increased range on both Taste Their Fear and his basic attacks."

This is what makes Kha'Zix so powerful. Its basically his bread and butter, or noodles and rice if i do say so myself. Its a spammable ability that has a very short mana cost and cooldown. It also has MEGA burst after you evolve it, especially if the target is isolated. You can tell if the enemy is isolated if a purple ring is around an enemy unit. This isolation mark also works on jungle creeps and it plays a pretty big role when jungling.

Void Spike
"Kha'Zix fires spikes that explode on contact, dealing 75 / 115 / 155 / 195 / 235 (+0.9 per bonus attack damage) physical damage to all nearby enemies. Kha'Zix is healed by 40 / 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 (+50% of ability power) if he is within the explosion radius.

Evolving spike racks causes Void Spike to fire three projectiles in a cone. Spikes will also apply Unseen Threat to all enemies caught within the area of effect."
Pretty good ability, has a built in heal and pretty good damage. Not much else to say bout this.

Leap
"Kha'Zix leaps to an area, dealing 65 / 100 / 135 / 170 / 205 (+0.8 per bonus attack damage) physical damage to enemies in the area he lands.

Evolving wings increases Leap's range dramatically and causes a kill or assists to refresh the cooldown of Leap."

Very fun ability. The range is pretty bad before you evolve it, but once you actually evolve it, it becomes so much better. The damage is also not to be ignored when using this ability. It also gives a passive that will refresh Leap's cooldown if you get a kill/assist after you evolve it. Its exactly like Tristana's Rocket Jump.

Void Assault
"Passive: Each rank of Void Assault allows Kha'Zix to evolve one of his active abilities, granting it an additional effect.

Active: Kha'Zix enters stealth for 1 second and gains Unseen Threat, gaining 40% movement speed. Kha'Zix can cast Void Assault again within 10 seconds after activation. There is a 2 second cooldown between each cast of Void Assault.

Evolving active camouflage allows Kha'Zix to cast Void Assault three times within 10 seconds and reduces any damage by 40% he takes while in stealth."
This is what makes Kha'Zix unique. Its not the active, but the passive. Everytime he levels up his ultimate, he gets to spend an Evolution Point. This Evolution Point can be used on any of his four abilities. It will basically upgrade it to do whatever the ability does, but better. The active itself is also not that bad either. There are better actives on ultimates, but this one will do. It will stealth you for 1 second and gain 40% move speed during that 1 second duration. But, it will let you stealth a second time for 1 second, gaining the 40% move speed also. Its best used during fights or ganks. In fights you can buy some time for your cooldowns or teammates to help. During ganks, just pop this and run in there. They cant see you and by the time your stealth ends, you can normally Leap at them and you can get a kill or burn a summoner spell or two.

Evolution and Isolation

I decided to put these two topics together because they are somewhat related and because i can.

Evolution

Kha'Zix is the only champion in the League that has the ability to evolve. This means he can evolve any of his abilities once. This is basically what makes him unique. As he puts Level Up points into his ultimate, Void Assault, he gains more Evolution Points these points are what allow you to evolve, and you only get 3 in all. You must then decide what to evolve, your Taste Their Fear(Q), Void Spike(W), Leap(E), or your Void Assault(R). So as the game progresses, Kha'Zix becomes more powerful. In my opinion, i think that getting Q evolved first is a MUST. The other 2 you get is a matter of preference, but i like to grab E and R. Taste Their Fear is you best ability, and should be evolved for moar DMG, and you also get bigger attack radius on both you basic attack and Taste Their Fear itself. And Leap is good because not only do you get a extra jump for assists and kills, but you get extra range on it, and a lot too. And Void Assault is because i like the damage reduction you get while stealthed. If you feel that the ult is useless on you, evolve your Void Spike instead. Again, these are all a matter of preference.

Isolation

Isolation is what happens when an enemy(whether it be mob or champion) that doesn't have any allied units around him/her. This is marked by a very distinct purple void ring around it. Isolation plays a VERY important part in you damage output with Taste Their Fear. Taste Their Fear does EXTRA damage to units who are isolated, and this is a very significant damage increase. Isolation does not affect any other of your abilities except Q.

Jungle Route

1. Get your Taste Their Fear ability with a Cloth Armor and 5 Health Potions. Go to the Ancient Golem(Or wolves, whichever one you feel more comfortable with). Get a leash here and use smite. If you got a good leash, kill the small lizards first. This gives your Taste Their Fear ability to deal more damage to the lone Ancient Golem. *NOTE: Do not do this if you dont have a very good leash and have to take the damage of the creeps. Tell your team to back off once it reaches smite-able health so they don't accidentaly take a bit of XP. Even if they do, it doesnt affect you THAT much, as you just need to take another camp or two to reach level 4. Use health potions if you didnt get a very good start. Level Up your Void Spike and continue to Wolves.

2. Kill the Wolves. Spam all your abilities when they are up and use health potions when needed. Be sure to be in the blast radius of Void Spike and try to hit all the creeps with it too.

3. Take out the Wraiths. Same deal as wolves.

4. Run to Double Golems and take them out. Health Potions, spamming abilities, all the same.Level Up your Taste Their Fear again and head on over to the Lizard Elder.

5. Once at the Lizard Elder, or Red, I like taking out the mini lizards, then the big one. This allows your Q to deal more damage on the actual red buff instead of the mini lizards. The reason why i dont do this for Blue Buff very often is because you can't tank the damage of the Ancient Golem for a long period of time, so you should just go straight for the Buff and kill off the little ones later.Smite the Red and go back to wraiths.

6. By this time, Wraiths should have, or will be spawning back. Kill them off for your 4th level. Level Up and grab your Leap. You are now fully prepared to gank a lane or two.
*NOTE: Remember to get Dragon and Baron when possible
*NOTE: Don't waste health by using a health potion when you don't get the full potion effect. The same goes with your Void Spike

Ganking

When i was beginning to jungle, i had alot of trouble ganking. I know lots of stuffs now so i will show them to you.
1. On someone with a jump, save it if they are over extended.
This means that, if they are over extended, dont use your flash or jump. Leap in this case. Use it when they have used theirs so you can catch up. Unless you use your ult, you shouldn't be using your Leap to just initiate a gank, because chances are, they will either be able to jump out or use Flash. Just run in there towards their escape route and when they use flash to juke you or something, then you use Leap. This will make their Flash useless.
2. Prioritize the best victim
This means that if you gank a double lane, go for the squishier person. You have a better chance of killing someone. Of course, if you know you cant catch him/her, then go for the tankier one.
3. Ask if there is a ward
If you think that the enemy may have a ward in the bush you are in, ask you teammate. If they don't know, just stand in the bush and see if they react. If they start playing defensively (retreating, not harrassing as much) then you know there is a ward. If not, just gank em.

A+ Summoner Spells

These are all pretty good summoner spells for Kha'Zix. I mostly recommend Smite and Flash, but all these are good on Kha'Zix.

B- Summoner Spells

These are Ok summoner spells. You could do better, but if these are really your thing, like you can't go without 'em. I guess you could roll with these

Grade F- Summoner Spells

Rengar

If you had read Kha'Zix's lore, then you would know that Rengar and Kha'Zix are basically mortal enemies. I'll give you a brief summary of his story.

So basically, Kha'Zix crosses over from the Void to Valoran to become more powerful. When he kills anything, he saps their strength and becomes stronger. So when he crosses over, he basically becomes really weak. And so, he began a rampage of killing to return to his normal strength. And one day, he finished killing something when he was jumped by Rengar. They both fight until they almost die and retreat. Kha'Zix took out Rengar's eye in the battle. Kha'Zix wanted to kill Rengar and consume his power so he could become the ultimate predator.

And thats basically it. So now, Riot went ahead and added a new mechanic to the game. If a Kha'Zix and a Rengar are on opposite teams, then sometime in the game, a sidequest will appear that says "The Hunt is On!". To make this appear, Kha'Zix must have used his 3rd Evolution Point, and Rengar must have a Bonetooth NecklaceBonetooth Necklace in his inventory. Kha'Zix's requirement for the quest also implies that at least Kha'Zix must be Level 16 to have used his 3rd Evolution Point. When these requirements are fullfilled, the quest will appear randomly. When the buff/quest is active, then Kha'Zix must kill Rengar (or vice-versa) and assist DO COUNT. When someone completes the quest, then they will be awarded a prize. For Kha'Zix, he will be awarded a 4th Evolution Point. For Rengar, he will be awarded the Head of Kha'Kix. The Head of Kha'Zix will replace Rengar's Bonetooth Necklace Bonetooth Necklace. The Head of Kha'Zix is basically the same item as the Bonetooth Necklace Bonetooth Necklace, except that it is fully stacked and those stacks cannot be taken away. So basically, if they have a Rengar on the enemy team, don't be feeding him especially when the quest is on. Just become Asianly Fed and you should be fine.
