Introduction

Shaco is one of the best carry jungler's you'll ever see. He's hardly ever played. And it's almost impossible to see a master Shaco.
I personally went from silver to platinum by playing shaco. Even when I lost games i won my lane every time with a minimum of 5:1 KDR. My point from this guide is to see better shaco players and to get him out of the stereotypical minds that consider shaco to be a useless champion that would only cause a defeat.

Season 4 turned the warding system upside down. Although it still provides you with pink wards they're visible and each summoner can only place 1 pink at a time. Therefor stealthed junglers like shaco and evelynn are dominant. I've even seen a jungle twitch that did a great job carrying his team to victory.

Jungling shaco could never get easier once you get comfortable with him. Although it might have taken me a long time to learn how to play him it was totally worth it. It's all about ganking to right lanes from the right angles.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Enough utility for an assassin
His AP spell Two shiv poison scales AD and slows
Broken passive buffs his damage by 20%
Amazing early and late game phases
Unstoppable split pushes

Cons

His mid game could be bad
He can use for initiation but he doesn't have anything for an escape
Can't gank lanes with cc without having cc on his side

Runes

This is a necessity for shaco.

I consider this to also be a necessity.

Optionals

This could be replaced for attack speed seals.

Greater quintessence of life steal are good if you want to start shaco with doran's blade. Makes him sustainable enough in his jungle.

These are my personal standard masteries for shaco.

There are two ways to start building a shaco.
Either by starting or by going for a doran's blade. Either ways it's okay.

Warding totem is my personal best since I like stealing enemy team's buffs. I don't need a sweeping lens since their wards won't catch me. Ever.

Both are OP for various reasons but each has it's own priorities. Last whisper is for tanks with high armor. It's the most common because team's usually have tanks. Nevertheless some teams are quite squishy. Shaco's job isn't to go in > penta > get out. His job is to assassinate the carries Priority
