Introduction
You guys I 100% understand why this may seem ridiculous to all of you, but I have had a large amount of success with AD Malzahar in Gold ELO.
So what the what? AD Malzahar? How does that even work? Well I'll tell you how! Malzahar's Voidlings scale so well with AD that overall you are one of the best AD scaling champs in the whole game. EVERY 4 SPELL CASTS SPAWNS A VOIDLING. I REPEAT, EVERY 4 SPELL CASTS SPAWNS A VOILING. I main Malzahar mid, the normal way, and I'm telling you this is SO MUCH MORE FUN, as long as you follow this guide. Also, if would be wise to learn Malzahar mid lane, AP, before trying this out to fully understand the way he works.
Oh and this guide won't be very flashy, I'll just tell you what you need to know and skip all the BS because I want it to be short and easy to follow. Also, this guide assumes that you already know how to jungle and play Malzahar to a certain extent. If you are looking to play Malzahar/jungle for the first time, THIS IS NOT THE GUIDE FOR YOU.

Quintessences:
We need as much AD as possible, this one is pretty self explanatory.
Marks:
AD AD AD AD AD AD AD AD AD AD AD AD AD AD AD AD AD AD AD AD AD
Seals:
You can't expect to have a whole lot of sustainability in the jungle/success with ganks unless you have some help, so take those health/armor runes to prevent being insta-melted.
Glyphs:
CDR is very, very, very important because you need to be spitting out Voidlings like there is no tomorrow. Also that magic resist will help you to successfully gank mid lane.

ADC:
We're looking for damage, damage, mana, mana regen, and some more damage. Since you'll have mana on mana on mana, that bonus health regen will be helpful in lane for sustainability (also the thinking behind the defense points, you gotta survive all that passive play to successfully burst down the enemy adc with successful dots/voidlings). The damage part of the masteries is pretty self explanatory, just look at it.
Jungle:
I mean the page is almost the same as when you're playing adc, but with some good utility points distributed to help out your jungle clear.

Notice how the ability pages are identical, there's a reason for that.
Null Zone:
Spam this in the base at the start for those Voidling stacks, an if you're jungling don't forget to use it a 4th time at 1:41 so your Voidling is fat and ready to tank that golem. This ability is taken first because it scales off of enemy health and not just AP, so it's useful when clearing jungle camps and keeping the enemy adc away from you while you farm. Also, it gives stacks for Voidlings. Remember that ulting somebody in this pool essentially adds up to 25% extra damage to that ult. ALSO IT GIVES STACKS FOR VOIDLINGS.
Call of the Void:
Why is this before that almighty dot? Because you can spam it for stacks. Your dot doesn't do a lot of damage early game anyway, so taking the spam ability first is going to help. Remember to use this as a silence is teamfights and ganks, stopping an enemy's or group of enemies' abilities can make the diffence. In lane this is a fun ability, because you can silence that thresh in the bush so he becomes uselss. ALSO IT GIVES STACKS FOR VOIDLINGS.
Malefic Visions:
This is used to 1) not run out of mana in 1 minute and 2) to pinpoint a target for your Voidlings. ALSO IT GIVES STACKS FOR VODLINGS. This ability can make enemies rage. Why? Put it on an enemy adc while a Voidling are 2 are out and watch as they shred him UNDER HIS OWN TOWER.
Nether Grasp:
Why does Malzahar have an assassin tag? This. throw out all 3 abilities, use this ability to stun them in a pool while Voidlings get nasty, oh look, they died in less than a second. What's that? The dot bounced? Your cooldowns are up? you just spit out 3 more spells and spawned another Voidling? ANOTHER CHAMPION IS DEAD?!!??!?! You get the importance of this ability. ALSO IT GIVES STACKS FOR VOIDLINGS.

REMEMBER THAT YOU MUST USE YOUR POOL 3 TIMES IN THE BASE OR YOU WILL BE A USELESS CHILD IN LANE FOR THE FIRST 30 SECONDS.
During the laning phase of the game you're going to play really passively until your dot hits an enemy champion WHILE A VOIDLING IS ALREADY OUT and then you go ham on said champion. This will, the majority of the time, kill them. If not, they won't be bothering you for a long enough time to get another dot and Voidling on somebody. Use your pool for stacks/when going all out on the person unfortunate enough to have the dot on them, and use your silence to, well, silence people. ALSO your dot restores mana every time it kills a minion or champion so use it a lot so you can sustain well.
Once you get them core items that I done recommended fer ya, it's time to do the most. Get those voidlings out on the map as often as possible and you will control any lane you are in. Now that you have Manamune and BT, with them good ole' Ionian Boots of Lucidity, you can have at least 2 voidlings out at any point with ease. Just silence, dot, pool, ult, and you just deleted somebody, and that dot has bounced to something else for your Voidlings to devour. Also, you can start helping the team out with objectives such as soloing dragon, taking towers in seconds, fun things like that.
Late game!
So check this out, you're Malzahar, you're full build, and you're Malzahar, you have 4 Voidlings and what do you know, a dot lands on the enemy mage. You don't even auto attack them, they die in 4 voidling AA's, you ult theyr're ADC and bam, voidlings have taken another victim. What if a tank is on you? Well put a dot on them and start running as your voidlings kite for you.

So like, what kind of crack am I smoking to try jungling Malzahar? Well, I'm smoking that good stuff because this works. Start at the froggy thing and remember to spam that pool 3 times in base! At 1:41 use your pool again to spawn your Voidling, giving it time to grow so it can leash for you (who needs those weak mid lane AP champs?!?!). Go to blue buff, then golems, then red buff, then clear/gank at your own discretion. Do not back until your blue buff wears off, or some stupid jungler thought you were weak and invades and you cram a Voidling up his ***. Also do not gank until you have backed once (unless you get that perfect oppurtunity), and always gank either top or mid at 6 just to show off the power and glory of AD Malzahar.
You can take Heal instead of Ignite if you are struggling in the jungle.
After your first gank and second set of buffs you will be clearing the jungle in 50 seconds, use this to your advantage and get FED off of your jungle. Also, if you don't suck, you can solo dragon at lvl 7. Remember that when ganking with Malzahar, you NEED to get your Voidlings behind the gankee, or they can escape easily (unless you have ult). Also during ganks, start by silencing immediately before they can react, then get a pool under them at the point where you expect them to collide with your Voidlings. If you can, only gank when your ult is up because if done right it is an automatic kill every time.
YOU CAN SOLO BARON AT FULL BUILD OR MAYBE EVEN SOONER IT JUST DEPENDS ON HOW FED YOU ARE.
UPDATE: YOU CAN SOLO BARON AT 17 WHILE STILL 1 ITEM SHORT OF FULL BUILD

Farm farm farm. Use your dot/voidlings to help farm, sustain mana, and poke. You can use any of the above build variations top lane as needed because AD tank Malzahar still does a good amount of damage with the sustainability to take damage as voidlings do the dirty. If you would like to see how he is played top lane, watch this video (this is not me, and is kind of outdated so the itemization is not quite on point, but it will show you HOW to play him)

Note: take ignite! TP is viable as well if you still want to gank lanes or you are having trouble learning.
