Hello, I'm Orchid. I'm a 19 year old dweeb from small town Iowa. I'm currently Gold 1 due to decay, and lack of time this last season for Solo Queue. I'm a Diamond 4 peak, typically holding Platinum 1-3 mmr. I've played in 2 small tournaments with a group of my friends, we placed 5th out of 20 teams in the first tournament, and placed 3rd out of 32 teams in the second. I played on my collegiate team (Iowa State University) last season for about 4 months, in which we were 5 wins / 0 losses. Last summer I was invited to attend a League of Legends camp held by a subordinate of an NA LCS team. I'm a mid lane main, typically fill secondary. My core champion pool consists of Syndra , Orianna , Galio , Zoe , and Lucian. With all that said, this is my first properly structured guide. Predator - I take this as my keystone to use the active on Boots to have a quicker more reliable ultimate ( Hero's Entrance ). I put a lot more emphasis to his crowd control / supportive kit, than to his carry potential. I've personally found more success with this rune than any other because of my play style, however, if you're more of a carry style player, I highly suggest Aftershock as it gives you many more base stats.


Cheap Shot - I take this rune because the majority of Galio 's kit is CC / movement impairing, making true damage come through reliably. Mix that with his overall base damage, it helps out laning phase skirmishes quite a bit.


Ghost Poro - I'm still stuck in the vision meta. I prefer to take Ghost Poro over any other rune here because it provides easy, free vision to either side bush, or even the river dot bushes.


Relentless Hunter - This rune as a lot of synergism with my keystone & secondary runes. No I'm not ripping off Hecarim's runes, but speed is vital in my Galio builds, so I can provide my Hero's Entrance easily and quickly to any side lanes or jungle.

Celerity - I take this rune because it has synergy with the other runes I take, especially with Waterwalking

Waterwalking - This rune is a perfect take, the entire goal of this rune set up is to provide support to your jungler / side lanes, 80-90% of the time you'll be doing this via the river.

As for your stat runes, run 2 adaptive to assist you in your early laning phase skirmishes, and a magic resist / armor depending on what kind of damage you're laning against.

- Flash Is an essential on most champions as an escape. On top of that however, Flash allows Galio to use his W ( Shield of Durand ) Flash combination to set up great kills for teammates. This combination has been known to potentially turn an entire game upside down.

- Teleport makes roaming / getting to other lanes quick & easy. Be aware however of the Teleport changes, you can no longer cancel Teleport. Typically, make sure to shove your lane in before recalling to avoid having to Teleport back into lane to catch a wave.
