Why Mid Zhao ? (Pros/Cons)
Xin Zhao has Assassin kit with sustain, that's why in my opinion it's very good mid compared to top where a lot of matchup will statcheck you, I prefer going in on Squishy low mobility mage than Giga chad that statcheck me, then perma freeze and deny me cs.Pros :
Xin Zhao has an insane kit for mid, you can farm/poke with W, perma aggro with E, you have really great damage, ult is really great to get out of weird ganks/situations. Xin Zhao Top lacks Escape, since midlane is a smaller lane it helps a lot with the ganks/wave state.It's a flex pick, most people won't expect you to be mid, it can really frustrate enemy midlaner/jungler.
Cons :
If you fall behind there is no comming back.
You have no escape so you need to always expect a gank.
In some matchup you really need to respect and this can be hard if your jungler doesn't help you, which will happen most games (in my elo at least) because they think you are trolling them with
Xin Zhao Mid.Also you will get camped by enemy jungler, because you need to perma Aggro, so you are in permanent danger.

Keep in mind that i've only recently started playing it mid and trying a lot of things so i'm still learning most matchups. 190k mastery points at the moment. (Kennen and poppy being 360k/260k)
Also, i'm only plat/emerald, i'm not the best I do a lot of mistakes, I lack map vision, map awarness, I get ganked a lot, I don't always make the best macro decisions, you might find better solutions to matchups, itemization than I do, this is just an entry guide to understand what I find is working with Mid Zhao, if I get better in the future, I will update this guide with more accurate data.
I've been trying off-meta picks since i started league, not really trying to get better at that time.
At the end of 2024, I tried to really step up my level in league.
Went from Silver 4 to Plat 2 in 1 season with Kennen Top/Mid 60% win rate.
Then I started playing better and went Emerald 4 with Poppy, Kennen, Gwen, Jax Mostly playing top.
Recently i've watch a lot of Pleutre on Twitch/Youtube, and been trying to play Xin top but i've found that I prefer playing it mid.
I have a Youtube channel, I mostly have CS/Valorant content on it the Kennen edit of me going from silver to Emerald if you have time to waste on a bad edit :D
When I get better on Xin Zhao a video about it will pop out, i still have a lot to learn.
Keep in mind that i've only recently started playing it mid and trying a lot of things so i'm still learning most matchups. 190k mastery points at the moment. (Kennen and poppy being 360k/260k)

- It's good to have Ability Power champ in your team, otherwise they just stack armor and you are at a disavantage.
- You love to have follow-up : Engage/Frontline/Enchanters with you.
- You hate to play against : Poppy, Alistar, Leona, Amumu, Annie, Darius, Garen, Voli, Nasus, Sett. (You won't have them in mid expect Annie sometimes.
