Omnistone Darius is BROKEN

By Dystrex
Why Omnistone?

Prototype: Omnistone is the greatest rune of all runes. Why? Because it is ALL the runes!

The trick is utilizing it's different parts correctly. Let's run down each Keystone and how we use them when we get them!

Press the Attack

- Press the Attack will give you quick burst in a 1v1, and increase your damage on that enemy for the next 6 seconds. Try to just hard combo on the enemy with this up and if you got them low enough, run them down.

Lethal Tempo

- Lethal Tempo and Hail of Blades serve very similar purposes, but are utilized differently. For Lethal Tempo, you can combo on the enemy and while your spells are down, auto them to death very quickly, as it has delayed activation after you deal damage.

Fleet Footwork

- Fleet Footwork activates after you work it up to 100 by Auto Attacking and/or moving. It is a nice rune to quickly dodge any skillshots once you engage, or to just heal a bit while farming. You can also last hit a minion and use the movement speed to surprise the enemy and run them down

Conqueror

- Conqueror is and always will be one of the best runes for Darius. Once you get this rune, make sure you are fighting in a position where you will be able to pop off with it. That means either a teamfight or when you have all your summoner spells up for the kill. The fun part of this rune is that it stays active as long as you're hitting spells and autos, so that means a new keystone should also activate mid Conqueror. Very cool!

Summon Aery

- Summon Aery is just for some quick poke. Decimate real fast on the enemy to get it off and move on to the next rune.

Arcane Comet

- Same as Summon Aery, Arcane Comet is used for quick poke damage. Land Decimate and move on.

Phase Rush

- A VERY POWERFUL rune for Darius. If you manage to get this off on someone early, you should easily be able to 5-Stack someone and get a Flash, or even a kill.

Electrocute

- Similar to Summon Aery and Arcane Comet, this is for quick burst then back off, or kill if you manage to get off enough damage.

Predator

(only if you have boots)
- I love Predator. Getting this can enable a ton of plays. If you're still laning with it, use it to run at your lane similar to a gank or even rotate mid real quick and gank them. As the game goes on, use it to engage for a good mid game teamfight, or to bait enemy Flashes or high cd spells by dodging them with your massive MS.

Dark Harvest

(souls amplify the effects of all keystones)
- Good for extra execution damage on low health enemies. Dark Harvest also amps up the damage of every other rune, so getting stacks is nice, but try not to int for a stack!

Hail of Blades

- Opposite of Lethal Tempo, Hail of Blades activates after your first auto, and has a very short time frame to be utilized. In order to fully utilize Hail of Blades, do not use Decimate until you've used all 3 Hail of Blades auto attacks. This rune offers a good amount of upfront damage, as well as being able to quickly stack your passive, which is always important.

Grasp of the Undying

- Using Grasp of the Undying is simple. Work it up by being in combat with minions, and fight once it's up for a bit of extra damage. Grasp of the Undying is also similar to Conqueror in that you can overlap it with another rune. To do this, have it worked up and stay in combat (as simple as having a bleed stack on any minion), and when omnistone resets for the next rune, you will still have it up. You can use this tactic for a ton of extra burst that the enemy won't expect!

Aftershock

(only if you can trigger it on a basic ability)
- A nice rune for Darius to keep him safe against heavy burst, ganks, or even use it to tower dive. Activate Aftershock by simply grabbing an enemy champion. If you're against someone with heavy burst, like Renekton, then try to time your grab to just before he uses his ****, homie. 💯

Glacial Augment

- Very strong for keeping on top of an enemy. The slow from Glacial Augment grows after application, making it easy to DPS the enemy. If you need to escape from someone right on top of you, you can also apply the slow to try to run. As the game goes on, you may also find yourself buying items like Turbo Chemtank and Randuin's Omen, which will both activate the large slowing effect from Glacial Augment.

Next let's check out the circumstances built in deciding the next keystone.

Predator: More likely to get Predator when not near enemy champions, and less likely to get it when in combat with nearby enemy champions.

Dark Harvest: More likely to get Dark Harvest when near low health enemy champions.

Hail of Blades: More likely to get Hail of Blades when near low health enemy champions and building attack speed or attack damage.

Conqueror: More likely to get Conqueror when both you and enemies have high health (increased chance if you're a melee champion).

Fleet Footwork: More likely to get Fleet Footwork if you are low health and below level 9.

Glacial Augment: More likely to get Glacial Augment if you have a Glacial item off cooldown.

Summon Aery: More likely to get Summon Aery when you have healing/shielding power and are near a low health ally who is in combat.
