Intro to me

He this is my first ever guide on mobafire. I'm not the best at LoL but I really want to get my Volibear guide out there because he is a new champion and people often search for how to build Volibear

Introduction to Volibear.

This is a tanky dps build for Volibear. I absolutely love Volibear however you build him and hope you enjoy him just as much as I do. I find the best way to play Volibear is being really aggressive mid-late game and if you have a good friend playing a carry be as aggressive as you want.

Pros and Cons

Pro's
Super tanky.
Gets tonnes of kills.
Very strong late game unless your team is **** and fed
Great for initiating team fights
Amazing passive
HES A ******** POLAR BEAR WITH ARMOUR
Con's
Often gets focussed late game cos he is tearing everyone arse mid game
Only gets move speed when chasing people
Can only fear minions with Sky Splitter

Skill sequence

Start with you Q Thundering Smash to chase down an enemy team member. If you cannot reach them use your E Sky Splitter or exhaust Exhaust to catch up. At this stage you should manage to get a couple of attacks in. If possible attack some minions to get your Frenzy stacks up then chase but this is a very risky move. IMPORTANT make sure you have your W Frenzy on smart cast. This will allow you to spam q until you make 3 attacks and can hit him. Your Ultimate Stormbringer is not often used in a 1 on 1 fight but if you are in a large team fight activate it and hope for the best.

Items.

Your items are very important for keeping you in the fight. I start with a Doran's Shield because why the hell not ur meant to be fair tanky. When you first go back to base try to grab Boots and a vampiric sceptre. You then build Recurve Bow to make you Frenzy a better skill and an easier skill to activate. When you can, B and get a giants belt. This keeps you in the fight so you aren't just a fast attacking demon. Build your Zeke's Harbinger when possible then go into a Warmog's Armor. You then build Atma's Impaler cos you are attacking quickly and have a lot of health. Another beautiful item to have is spirit visage] because it gives you health cdr and makes your passive [[chosen of the storm and Zeke's Harbinger even better. You can then build 1 of the last 2 items. If you are suffering from ad champions ie or get a Thornmail. If you are suffering due to spell casters and nukes ie or get a Force of Nature

Ability sequence and importance

This ability sequence and build have a very strong focus on Volibear's E

This build has a Recurve Bow in it for a reason. it is so you can get your Frenzy stacks up as fast as possible. Since this build focuses on damage due to frenzy this ability sequence is necessary. Why we leave Sky Splitter to last. Majestic roar is an excellent move with a fear that only effects minions. so why would we upgrade it first if it only does a bit of damage a slow and a minion fear. Thundering Smash is a more suitable move because it does a set amount of bonus damage and this build is not focussing on ability power

Laning vs solo top.

If possible I try and take a lane. being in a lane with a hard carry you can depend on, lets call him Kavanator. You can absolutely tear people to shreds as a combo. You simply through them back, slow them, whack them with frenzy while you mate Auto attacks you've just gotten a kill.

Solo top can be a bit tricky with volibear as he does not have any hp gain moves exceot his passive. If you are solo top and agaisnt 2 people make sure they push up on you. Your Q [rolling thunder]] and passive The Relentless Storm will get them everytime. If you are solo top Regrowth Pendant and a Health Potion are probably a better items to start with.

Scores.

My scores often vary on how good my team is. Volibear is quite reliant on having a good team which is why I'm quite hesitant to go into solo queue. I am not a great player and scores would be better shown by my friend if he picks up Volibear cos he is just a lot better at the game. My best score as of several games is 11 for 9 and 13. the most help to my team ive been is probably my 6 for 4 and 20 game.
