First things first ( MMMMM, THAT DAMAGE!?!!). Volibear is a CC heavy toplaner that when not accounted for early, can become a mid-late game monster. Volibear wins most close range matchups, being that he has an engage, an execute, 2 forms of CC, an execute, chaining damage with his ultimate, and a better Garen passive that has a cooldown. Volibear, if played correctly, is a hefty problem for the enemy team, regardless what phase of the game. Remember though, Volibear struggles in most ranged matchups, against people such as Gnar and Quinn, also, along the line of lane matchups, AVOID VAYNE AT ALL COSTS, you being a ful tank that succeeds mostly due to true damage, but even more by HP and armor, Vayne can destroy you in lane.
