Hello everyone, my name is Danitho (better known as Year of the Crow ingame on the EU West server) and this is my first guide here on MobaFire featuring Garen, the Might of Demacia.

I've been playing League of Legends for almost 2 years now, and I've found Garen to be one of my all time favorite champion due to his extreme early game damage while still being one tanky motherf*cker. In this guide (I would rather call it an encyclopedia) I will tell you every little thing I know about Garen and why you should play him. When you're finished reading this encyclopedia and fully understand how to play Garen, you will win every single time on top, that I can garen-tee you. (get it?) But seriously, you will be a god among men and dominate most od the time on top.

Enough talk about me! Lets talk about our champion of choice, Garen!
Garen is a melee champion, who excels at killing enemies and soaking up a lot of damage due to his good AD scaling, natural tankiness ( Courage) and finishing move, Demacian Justice. This means you can easily win a 1v1 against almost all champions. And due to his natural tankiness, you can go full AD build on him, while still taking some damage. (Recommended if you don't have an adc, or if your team just lacks damage).

Pros:

+ Good farming potentional using his Judgment

Be vary when you use this ability to farm since you will clear the lane pretty fast. This makes you very vurnerable to ganks. Usually you want to use this ability either when your lane is pushed, or when you want to gank another lane by clearing yours.

+ Movement speed boost

+ A silencer which lasts for 2.5 seconds

+ Can easily shut down carries (especially AP carries)

+ Naturally tanky and can soak up a lot of damage

+ Good finishing ability

+ Strong early game

Cons:

- Like most melee champions, Garen is quite vulnerable to ranged harassment

(But because of his really high damage and the fact that most ranged champs are squishy, at lvl 6 he can burst them down instantly. So if the ranged champ doesn't get a good advantage over him, he will melt anyway.)

- Kinda poor initiation. Garen usually initiate with Decisive Strike while activating Courage and Judgment

Their team have 2 options right now. 1: to Kite you back with ranged harass, or 2: Use CC to make you unable to act as you like, and prolly' die. But face it, you're no Wukong or Amumu with insane initiation abilities. You're Garen, a tanky single target nuker which lays down justice on enemies.
