1.1 Roughly stuff about Skarner
Skarner is an immense crystalline scorpion from a hidden valley in Shurima. Part of the ancient Brackern race, Skarner and his kin are known for their great wisdom and deep connection to the land, as their souls are fused with powerful life crystals which hold the living thoughts and memories of their ancestors. In an age long past, the Brackern entered hibernation to avoid untold magical destruction, but recent, threatening events have roused Skarner. As the only Brackern awake, he strives to protect his kind from those who seek to harm them.


Abilities
Passive
Crystal Spires

Skarner's presence causes crystals to spawn in set locations around the map. Crystals can be captured by either team by standing close to them. When near crystals his team owns, Skarner gains movement speed, attack speed, and increased mana regeneration.

Q
Crystal Slash

Skarner lashes out with his claws, dealing physical damage to all nearby enemies and charging himself with Crystal Energy for several seconds if a unit is struck. If he casts Crystal Slash again while powered by Crystal Energy, he deals bonus magic damage.

W
Crystalline Exoskeleton

Skarner gains a shield and has increased Movement Speed while the shield persists.

E
Fracture

Skarner summons a blast of crystalline energy which deals damage to enemies struck and slows them. Basic attacking these enemies within a short window will stun them.

R
Impale

Skarner suppresses an enemy champion and deals damage to it. During this time, Skarner can move freely and will drag his helpless victim around with him. When the effect ends, the target will be dealt additional damage

PASSIVE
Crystal Spires

Range: 1150
Skarner's presence causes crystals to spawn in set locations around the map. Crystals can be captured by either team by standing on top of them. Capturing a crystal prevents them from being captured by the opposing team for 15 seconds.

While within range of a Crystal Spire, Skarner gains 70-120 Movement Speed and 43-160% Attack Speed, while restoring 2% of his maximum Mana every second. Spire radius is 1600.



Q - Crystal Slash

Range: 350
Cooldown: 3.5 / 3.25 / 3 / 2.75 / 2.5
Cost: 10

Skarner slashes around himself, dealing physical damage equal to 1 / 1.5 / 2 / 2.5 / 3% of target's maximum health (+0.20 of attack damage) to all surrounding enemies.

If an enemy is hit, subsequent uses of Crystal Slash within 5 seconds deal bonus magic damage equal to 1 / 1.5 / 2 / 2.5 / 3% of target's maximum health (+0.20 of attack damage) (+30% of ability power) to the target.

Basic attacks against non-structures reduce Crystal Slash's cooldown by 0.25 seconds, quadrupled to 1 against enemy champions.



W - Crystalline Exoskeleton

Cooldown: 13 / 12.5 / 12 / 11.5 / 11
Cost: 60

Skarner receives a shield for up to 6 seconds which shields him for 10 / 11 / 12 / 13 / 14% of Skarner's maximum Health (+80% of ability power).

While the shield persists, his movement speed is increased by 16 / 20 / 24 / 28 / 32%, ramping up over the first 3 seconds.



E - Fracture Skarner

Range: 1000
Cooldown: 14 / 13.5 / 13 / 12.5 / 12
Cost: 55

Skarner summons a blast of crystalline energy which deals 40 / 65 / 90 / 115 / 140 (+20% of ability power) magic damage to all enemies in a line and slows them by 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50% for 2.5 seconds, while also afflicting them with Crystal Venom for 5 seconds.

Skarner's next basic attack against a target afflicted by Crystal Venom deals 30 / 50 / 70 / 90 / 110 additional physical damage and stuns them for 1.25 seconds.

Every time Skarner triggers Crystal Venom or stings an enemy with Impale, Fracture's cooldown is reduced by the corresponding base duration of the disable. ( IMPORTANT FOR THE E - R - AA COMBO )



R - Impale

Range: 350
Cooldown: 120 / 100 / 80
Cost: 100

Skarner suppresses an enemy champion for 1.75 seconds, dealing 60% of his total Attack Damage as physical damage and 20 / 60 / 100 (+50% of ability power) magic damage to them. During this time, Skarner can move freely and will drag his helpless victim around with him. When the effect ends, Skarner's target will be dealt the same amount of magic and physical damage again.

PROS :

+ Gets banned very rarely
+ Gets underestimated
+ Not many people play him ( Hard to deal with him )
+ Strong dueling, even stronger within Passive
+ Incredible Scaling
+ Tanky and still doing a lot of damage
+ King of CC
+ Easy to catch up to enemies or escape ( Insane speed )
+ Outplay material ( E, W, -> enemy slow/stun and you are speed )
+ Easy to get picks before teamfights
+ Beginner friendly
1.4 CONS
CONS

- Easy to counter with QSS / Tenacity
- Weak early ( decent if you do small trades with your E + AA + Q )
- Enemies can take over Crystals ( Passive )
- Hard to catch up if behind ( you can still be useful for your team )
- Easy to kite

This is my very first guide and in Season 11 I had the most fun with Skarner. I created this guide to share the fun with you.

Personally I didn't like Skarner jungle last season, but in this season, with the jungle item changes, I see myself playing Skarner Jungle more often. You don't have to waste a slot for a jungle item get the usual build.

Skarner Support is ssomething I played when I got filled support while playing with friends, honestly not the worst supporter out there. Was pretty fun. Could be better though.
2.3 Future Guide changes
Like already mentioned I'm still testing a lot of stuff, some items in this Guide are items I didn't even test yet but just from reading the stats and passives I mentioned them in the alternative build items group. (Like Mikael's Blessing, or Liandry's)

I also have to test some AP Skarner builds, or Hybrid Skarner builds.
