About Me

I started playing League in Season 3 and I enjoyed trying out as many champions as possible, eventually stumbling upon Kha'Zix's Champion Spotlight and falling in love with the champion.
I grabbed 20 euros I had in my piggy bank, bought some RP, and purchased him and his Mecha skin.

I spent a few seasons around Diamond 2-Master, never really shooting higher. In Season 12, I was motivated and reached my peak rank of Grandmaster 650 LP in EUW.

In Season 13, a lot happened, I reached multiple goals I had dreamed of for years, starting with Rank 1 Kha'Zix in League of Graphs.

Then, Rank 1 Kha'Zix in LoLalytics.

Then, after 10 years of trying, I reached Challenger!

I've played other champions, mostly junglers, such as Graves, Nidalee, Rek'Sai, Qiyana and Xin Zhao. But I never stopped maining Kha'Zix, having 2.7M mastery points on my main account.

My Accounts

Here's a list of my accounts on each server, ordered by peak rank:
EUW: Claws HD - K6 One Trick - Ugandan KhaZix - KhaJiKusu - Kajigseu - SimpZix - Khareaboo - Diamond 2 KhaZix
EUNE: IllIllIIlIl - dani fan acc - Milk and Cheese

My Goal

With this guide I want to showcase my builds and styles with Kha'Zix, hopefully teaching you how to do the same successfully. However, I won't be explaining the basics of Kha'Zix, since there's plenty of information in other guides or other places on the internet.
Pros

Versatile Build and Playstyle
Being able to change between assassin/bruiser/early/scaling builds allows Kha'Zix to beat his enemies consistently.

Punishing Bad Positioning
His Damage doubles when targets are isolated. Meaning you can instantly one-shot anyone that mispositions.

Multi-Killing
Being able to reset your Leap and go Invisible with Void Assault gives you insane multi-kill potential.

Neutral Objective Control
With or without Q Evolve, Kha's Isolation Damage amplification makes him one of the fastest neutral objective takers.

Easy to Learn
Kha is quite an old champion, his kit is very simple and easy to understand.
Cons

Isolation Dependant
If enemies aren't isolated, your damage is hindered a lot, making his power fluctuate a lot due to being very circumstantial.

Easily Countered
Any champion can make Kha's life difficult by standing close to their allies and structures, removing Isolation.

Slow Jungle Clear
Not every jungle camp is isolated and he has low AOE, so he struggles to keep up with most junglers in this regard.

Bad when Behind
Kha relies on AD ratios heavily, meaning he needs a lot of gold. If you fall behind, you won't be a threat.

Hard to Teamfight
Enemies will be fighting together, making it very hard for you to find the right opportunity to jump in and deal damage.
Flash

Flash extends your Playmaking limits.

The Instant Mobility allows you to be Unpredictable.
Ghost

Ghost gives you Chasing and Teamfight Power.

The Speed and Reset allows you to focus on dealing damage.
Ignite

Ignite gives you more Dueling Power.

The True Damage Burn and Anti-Heal makes it easy to 1v1 Junglers.
You want Flash most of the time, since it makes Kha'Zix very versatile in both build and playstyle, adding a lot of potential to aggressive plays, while always having a plan B for safety.

I have played a lot of Ghost and Ignite, and find them valuable in specific metas.

Ghost strives in metas where Movement Speed is easily accessed and fights are longer overall, due to games going into Late Game or having lots of Tanks.
(e.g. Phase Rush Hecarim/ Udyr/ Volibear Meta)

Ignite is best used in metas that rely heavily on Early Game performance, especially if it is likely for junglers to meet each other at Level 3 or earlier. Ignite pressures enemy junglers out of these scenarios and if they don't respect it, you get free Kills.
(e.g. Level 2 Invade Graves/ Lee Sin/ Nidalee Meta)
Mosstomper

Mosstomper boosts your ability to Duel and Survive.

The Permanent Fast-Charging Shield makes you harder to kill and counter with CC.
Gustwalker

Gustwalker gives you Mobility and excels at Macro Play.

The Burst of Speed is great for Repositioning within a fight or around the map.
Scorchclaw

Scorchclaw gives you Additional Damage and some Utility.

The True Damage Burn and Small Slow make great tools for both Dueling and Poking.
Kha'Zix is good with all the Smites, so you can choose which fits your build/playstyle best.

Mosstomper Smite is my current favorite. It allows me to be Aggressive, Kill, farm a camp (resetting my shield), and go for another fight. The Shield also decreases enemies' chances of catching you off guard with CC successfully. I can Carry Harder and more Consistently.

Gustwalker Smite is especially good at Picking enemy champs off guard, Baiting out cooldowns, and Luring enemies to yourself. With so much speed in Mid-Late Game, you can outmaneuver enemies and secure objectives uncontested. Requires a lot of Game Knowledge to successfully abuse it.

Scorchclaw Smite performs best when you can constantly deal damage through Poke with Void Spike, while also being helpful with making Picks with the Slow. It's the least versatile, but very straightforward to abuse.
Scaling Damage/Gold & Reliable

First Strike gives you a Safe source of Gold and Damage, performing better in the Late Game.

Inspiration primary gives you extra Gold Efficiency and Utility, which helps you curve into your Powerspikes.

These secondary runes cover the Lack of Early Damage while also all-inning on the Gold Generation.
Alternative Options
This option is great for Easy Jungle Matchups. If you can get through the early game, you'll be a Late Game Powerhouse.
These runes provide a High Skirmish Pontetial which can be crucial in Early Metas, but it's Less Reliable than the first setup.
Damage/Carry Potential & Multi-Kill

Dark Harvest gives high Damage Potential and Resets after a Takedown.

These runes give the most damage in Mid Game, allowing you to play aggressively, get a lead, and Carry with tons of stacks.

Limit Test as much as possible and you'll be very successful after Learning your damage output.
Alternative Options
Dark Harvest requires a good and aggressive Early Game. This option reduces that weakness with Guaranteed AD Scaling.
Dark Harvest struggles to Snowball on slow paced games. This option allows you to Hit Powerspikes for free Consistently.
Early Damage/Impact & Reliable

Electrocute gives high Early Damage and excels at short Duels or Ganks.

Use this Early Power to Pressure enemy junglers and laners. Gank as much as possible and use the River to Fight/Rotate.

Objectives are a top priority and you can easily secure them with Waterwalking Extra Damage in the river.
Alternative Options
If Electrocute doesn't give you enough Early Power, this option will help you One-shot Harder and Snowball Faster.
You can trade Ganking Power for Easier Powerspikes. Make the most out of each Recall and never slow down the game.
Mythic Items

Duskblade of Draktharr
Ability Damage Amp increases one shot potential which Synergizes with our goal.

Being Untargettable after getting a kill/assist is incredibly useful for Repositioning.
The Short Slow, it provides, allows Kha'Zix to safely do the E+Q+AA combo without getting kited away from his next Q.

Skirmishing and Teamfighting can be approached more methodically if you know your damage and time your item's stealth resets with your R's stealth charges, to Min-Max your impact.

Eclipse
Low Cooldown Passive with Damage, Shield, and Speed, that excels at Dueling.

Easy to Spam during long fights because Kha'Zix's Q has a very low cooldown.
Eclipse is a good option to remain useful as a damage dealer Against High Armor targets, since it scales with the enemy's total HP. It might Not be Sufficient, but it helps.

I go Eclipse when I face Eclipse Junglers that I need to get a Direct Lead against.

Youmuu's Ghostblade
Damage Amplification increases One-Shot Potential.

Dash adds Reliability to plays and an Element of Surprise.
I build Prowler's Claw when the enemy team has a clear win condition that revolves around a single killable champion.

Counters junglers with High Mobility and Kiting Potential, such as Nidalee, Lillia, and Graves.

Boots
Boots of Lucidity

Flash extends your Playmaking limits.

The Instant Mobility allows you to be Unpredictable.
Mercury's Treads

Ghost gives you Chasing and Teamfight Power.

The Speed and Reset allows you to focus on dealing damage.
Plated Steelcaps

Ignite gives you more Dueling Power.

The True Damage Burn and Anti-Heal makes it easy to 1v1 Junglers.

Step 1 - Understand
I believe people only truly commit to a new idea if they Understand the Value behind it. So I will list some ways that my approach to the game might Benefit You.
Pre-planning your games makes you more Mindful of what might happen, Minimizing Auto-Piloting.
You will have Faster Decision-Making and more Success too since you won’t be improvising.
You Develop your Knowledge, through Trial and Error, since you can see if your plan worked or not.
Step 2 - Observe

Look at your and your enemy's team. Identify each champion and Categorize them by AD/AP, Assassin/Bruiser/Tank/Marksman/Enchanter/Mage, and Early/Mid/Late Game.

The Goal is to get into the habit of a quick assessment of the context of the game, and what your team and the enemy team excel at. This will make the next steps More Natural over time.

Ally Team
Darius - Early to Mid Game AD Bruiser.
Kha'Zix - Mid to Late Game AD Assassin.
Sylas - Early to Mid Game AP Bruiser.
Samira - Early to Mid Game AD Marksman.
Thresh - Early to Mid Game Tank.

Enemy Team
Aatrox - Early to Mid Game AD Bruiser.
Evelynn - Mid to Late Game AP Assassin.
Kassadin - Late Game AP Bruiser.
Ashe - Late Game AD Marksman.
Soraka - Mid to Late Game Enchanter.

Some of these descriptions Might Vary from person to person and that's exactly the best way this works. Things need to make sense, at least, to you, through your Experience and Knowledge.
Step 3 - Predict

Now that you have a good idea of what each champion can do, it's time to Start Predicting how everyone's matchups play out.

Even I struggle with this part of the planning, mostly because certain matchups change each patch.

Focus on Your Matchup First, play it out in your head, and only then start thinking about the others.

Kha'Zix vs Evelynn

Evelynn is really Weak Early. Kha isn't the greatest early champion, but against her, he has Total Freedom. I can Contest safer camps like Gromp/Raptors in her jungle or more if I have priority. I can also Counter-Gank any of her gank attempts pre-6.

Darius vs Aatrox

I predict this lane to be All Out Fighting. They will try their hardest to start with an Early Lead and Dominate through Top lane.

Sylas vs Kassadin

I predict Sylas to Win Early since he has too many abilities that land easily on short-range champions. However, I believe Kassadin gets to Lane Safely post 6. Sylas Pushes his Wave, from poking Kassadin and also his passive and AOE Abilities hitting the wave.

Samira+ Thresh vs Ezreal+ Soraka

Samira and Thresh will look to grab an Early Lead, while Ezreal and Soraka want to scale into Late Game. Bot will Push the Wave from the aggressive attempts at killing the enemy.

Take notes of your predictions so you can use them for Future Reference and Analysis.
Step 4 - Decide

I always look for the best opportunity to get a lead early, since Kha'Zix can Snowball and Carry a lot easier with it.

I usually path towards lanes that have CC , lanes that will be Fighting a lot or Invade junglers.

In this example, according to our predictions, we meet a lot of these conditions.

Top will be perma Fighting.
Mid and Bot have CC .
Jungler is vulnerable to Invades.

Now we have to consider which of these options might benefit the most from Ganks or which one can Carry the hardest.

I would Start on my bot side jungle since I want to make sure Darius Stomps his lane and I can get a Stronger Leash.

I will go for a short level 3 clear since I Can't Outscale Evelynn, so instead I'll look for Impacting the early/mid game as much as possible.

Short Clear can look like this:
1 - Red
2 - Wolves
3 - Blue

I'll pay attention to where Evelynn starts because if she starts on Red, we'll focus on the Top Gank. However, if she starts Blue, I'll invade her at Red before or after my gank.

Make sure to pay attention at all times and to change your plan whenever you see fit. BE FLEXIBLE!
