Introduction

Introduction

Hello, and welcome to my first MobaFire build for Talon. Talon is by no means an unique assasin, with many other burst assasins, such as LeBlanc having the same ability to crush enemy's. I do think that Talon has a HUGE advantage over most AP burst assassins. He scales off of Attack Damage! This means that his AA's are extremely hard hitting and his abilities are also benefiting and gaining damage boosts.

Without further ado, I present to you... My guide to Talon The Blades Shadow!

Masteries

Masteries

I grab all the offensive AD masteries in the offence tree first, because Talon is an AD champion so it makes sense! I go for 9 points in the defense tree because extra armor and MR is useful on anyone. Extra HP5 is great for that lane sustenance.

Runes

Runes

You can swap the seals for extra AD or ArP is you are taking a duo lane with a heavy cc or babysitting champion. I.E: Sion, Sona or Soraka

Summoner Spells

Summoner Spells

Ghost: This is a great escape/chase spell and I take it every time I play an AD champion
space
Exhaust: Again, A must take for AD champs, it stops that would-be ganker from killing you, allows you to slow enemy's for the kill and to stop their hyper-carry from wrecking your team.
space
Flash: Basically like ghost, but allows you to go over walls and does not last as long, take this if you prefer it.

I consider any other spells pretty much pointless on Talon, except for Teleport if you took solo top.

Ability Sequence

Ability Sequence Order

> > Cutthroat >

I max Rake first because of the slow and the massive damage it can put out all game long. Maxing Cutthroat second is important because it amplifies the damage on all your abilities as well as your AA's ( Noxian Diplomacy, Rake, Shadow Assault). Taking Noxian Diplomacy last because IMO the extra bleed damage does not compare to the damage amplification on cutthroat. Of course, take your ultimate, Shadow Assault, whenever possible.

Items

Items

Early Game core:

: Great starter item for AD champions, 100 hp, 10 AD and 3% lifesteal.
: Extra movespeed (DERP!), better mobility for CS.

: Extra damage, builds towards brutalizer.

: Extra damage, builds towards brutalizer.

Mid game core:

: ArP, CDR and AD, great cheap little package.

: More movespeed and more cdr. Great for Talon.

: Lifesteal and 60 damage and can stack to 100 damage and even more lifesteal, BRILLIANT!.

Late game core:

: Crit chance, movespeed and lots of other goodies!

: AS, movespeed and more crit chance.

: Procs the extra 10% damage from your passive Mercy gives you damage, a slow AND 700 extra hp!

: 80 damage and 250% crit damage. This is the creme de la creme;) this makes you absolutely unstoppable! (Sell Doran's Blade for this)

Situational survivability items:

: If you are being focused, just seeing that aura around you can stop the enemy's from focusing you.

: Take if you're afraid of enemy casters.

: If the enemy carry is getting too strong.

Of course, the item's you choose completely depend on how you are doing in game. Be prepared to deviate from the build depending on what is going on in your game.

Early Game

Early game

Play passively and don't worry about harassing too much, if you have a babysitter such as Soraka as you lane partner then dont be afraid to walk up and get as many last hits as possible. If you have a partner with CC ( Sion) then if you can, let him stun and you Rake them. Only do that if they don't have a support laner. Focus on getting your Boots and The Brutalizer on the first time you go back.

If your enemy's are dead or B in your lane and you have over half HP then it's time to look for a gank. Check the minimap for any low HP champions or overextended ones and try to take them out. Always tell the person in that lane who you are going for with a ping.

Mid Game

Mid Game

Now, you should have your early game core and some kills and assists under your belt. Hopefully you've pushed you lane quite a bit. Now it is mainly farming and ganking. Don't be afraid to help other lanes. Essentially, just go with the flow!

Late Game

Late Game

Now is where all the teamfights will be happening, stick with your team and follow the teamfighting section and hopefully it will be GG! By now you should be a massive threat and be demolishing everything. If you see an empty lane with a big wave of friendly minions pushed too a turret go over and push the lane. But make sure that your team knows what you are doing and you are constantly communicating.

Skill Sequence and Ganking

Skill Sequencing

As Talon, your main skill order is Cutthroat, Rake, Noxian Diplomacy, Shadow ***asult. I open with Cutthroat because of the silence and damage amp. Rake and Noxian Diplomacy are inter-changeable but I like to get the slow off first. Shadow Assault is final because most likely the enemy is very low and your ultimate should finish them off, also it stealths you so you can just walk away from the fight without being attacked again.

This order can be changed depending on who you are fighting, ranged AP and AD carries you usually will use this, but for enemies such as Ezreal who have a blink ability then you should save Cutthroat for when they try to escape.

Melee AD or AP carries you don't need to use Cutthroat early and can save it for the time when they start too run.
Ganking

If you are ganking, generally Ghost in and exhaust them, then Rake and some AA's and Noxian Diplomacy in combination with the people you are ganking with should be enough to kill them. If they flash or escape then use Cutthroat and continue attacking them, send another Rake their way if they still haven't died. Congrats you've (hopefully) just had a succesful gank!

Teamfights

Teamfights

As an assassin, it is your job to wait on the sidelines for the tank to initiate. Then you dart in and use your full combo on the carry (if they are squishy). As usual, your target depends on who is doing well on the enemy team. If the enemy LeBlanc is getting too strong, and has not bought any suvivaly items, then focus her.

Remember:
AD Carry> AP caster> Assasin> Support> Offtank> Tank

Lane partners

Partners

If a support character is available for your lane take him/her with you. Or, alternatively you can pick a ranged AD carry, who will hopefully help you in getting more kills.

Examples of good lane partners:
Sona, Janna, Soraka, Miss Fortune. Tristana and Twitch

Summary

Summary

Overall, Talon is a fun, powerful champion that I would recommend to all LoL players who haven't tried him yet! Perfect for most lanes, and if you have to you can take mid. He scales very well into late game and is a great asset to his team!

Again, thanks to jhoijhoi for her awesome template!
