  • , the rogue assassin, is a high skill capped champion that recently got a rework in patch 8.15.
  • has a high outplay potential with her Shuriken Flip allowing her to dodge most cc abilities from enemies.
  • has a lot of combos to learn and perfect. Each ability can be used in various ways.
  • Like all assassins, is great against squishy champions such as or .
  • After level 6, is good at doing an all in.
  • is able to dive enemies thanks to her Twilight Shroud which allows her not to be detected under turrets. Turrets can find if she uses an ability such as her Five Point Strike or an auto attack.
  • Five Point Strike allows to have good sustain in lane. If your Five Point Strike hits as many minions or enemies as possible, gains large amounts of healing from it.
  • Assassin's Mark gives bonus damage in lane when one of her abilities hits. After marking an enemy, it is best to auto attack them after to deal more damage from your passive.
  • has a two escape abilities. Shuriken Flip can be used on enemy minions, enemies, Twilight Shroud, and over walls as it lets to dash towards the mark wherever her Shuriken Flip hit as a quick escape. Perfect Execution can also be used as an escape when being ganked or running away because of low health. Perfect Execution can be activated twice, the first one being a stun and the second as an executions, but that doesn't mean it can't be used as an escape.

  • can be useless lategame sometimes if the other team has champions that regenerate health faster or deal more damage.
  • is weak pre-6 to lvl 9.
  • can be weak if your team is behind.
  • is very skill shot required meaning if you don't land you skill shots, you end up losing fights.
  • Lot of combos to learn and master.
  • Frustrating to play against since she is very mobile.
  • Easy to kill early.
  • Prone to being poked down by ranged champions. Doran's Shield is able to help counter the range.

The Merciless Elite
Grants 10 Ability Power or 6 bonus Attack Damage (Adaptive) as well as 9% bonus Attack Speed.


Hitting champions with 3 separate attacks or abilities in 3s deals bonus adaptive damage.
Cooldown: 25-20s

Sudden Impact

Gain a burst of lethality and magic penetration after using a dash, leap, blink, teleport, or when exiting stealth.
Cooldown: 4s

Eyeball Collection

Collect eyeballs for champion and ward takedowns. Gain an adaptive bonus of 0.6 attack damage or 1 ability power per 1 eyeball collected. When 20 eyeballs have been collected, gain an adaptive bonus of 6 attack damage or 10 ability power.
2 eyeballs per champion kill, 1 per assist, 1 per ward takedowns.

Ravenous Hunter

Unique takedowns grant permanent healing from ability damage.


+65 heal plus 9 Ability Power or 5.4 attack Damage, Adaptive.

Bone Plating

After taking damage from an enemy champion, the next 3 auto attacks you receive from them deal 25-20 less damage.
Duration: 1.5s
Cooldown: 45s


Gain permanent max health when minions or monsters die near you.
is not the best choice to run with since of the recent changes where you can no longer cancel . is better using since it can help her in sticky situations. can be used to engage on fights, disengage fights, and escape fights. is also since it allows you to get kills early game and help snowball in lane.
Assassin's Mark is Akali's passive.
Description: Dealing spell damage to a champion creates a ring of energy around them. Exiting the ring empowers Akali's next auto attack with bonus range and damage.

When moves towards enemies in the ring, she gains extra movement speed. When outside of the ring, will still have that movement speed moving towards an enemy champion. When outside of the circle, gains swinging Kama for 4 seconds. The auto attack with swinging Kama will restore energy for .

Five Point Strike

throws a handful of kunais in the direction of your choice. Enemies hit will take damage and enemies hit at the max range of the kunais will be slowed for a short period of time.

Five Point Strike will heal while she is above 180 energy for a small portion of the dealt damage.

Five Point Strike can be cast through minions so you don't have to worry about the ability being blocked by minions.

Five Point Strike can be used as sustain in lane when you have low health.

Twilight Shroud

While in Twilight Shroud, will regenerate energy in a "smoke bomb circle" that'll grow for 5 seconds.

is invisible when she enters the shroud and while in the shroud she gains movement speed.

Twilight Shroud will let be undetectable even to true sight like and turrets.

Twilight Shroud can have extended each time leaves and enters the shroud but can't last longer than 8 seconds.

Twilight Shroud has no energy cost but restores energy instead so if you need energy before going for a trade or in the middle of a fight, dropping Twilight Shroud will allow gain enough energy to finish the fight.

Twilight Shroud can reveal you once you use an auto attack or an ability but after 0.65 seconds you will blend into your shroud again.

Shuriken Flip

Shuriken Flip marks enemies that are hit by it and deals damage.

can dash towards marked enemies and will deal damage to them.

If Shuriken Flip doesn't hit an enemy minion or champion while Twilight Shroud is activated, will have her mark from and will be able to dash into her shroud.

Shuriken Flip can be used on monsters (including rift herald and baron since for some odd reason it doesn't mark drakes unless that's just a me problem) or it can be used to get over a wall for a quick escape.

Perfect Execution

Perfect Execution allows to dash in a direction dealing attack damage and stunning enemies caught in her dash with her first activate.

When activated a second time, Perfect Execution does ability power but does not stun enemies anymore.

Perfect Execution allows you to use it how you want whether it be an escape, engage, or gap closer.

The main rune you run on akal is Domination since it is great with burst champions like , , .

The first run you want to take is Electrocute since only goes in for short periods of time which is good for burst trades. Electrocute allows you to deal bonus damage in trades which leads up to to be an even greater threat.

Sudden Impact is the next rune you want to take on since she has 2 abilities at allows her to activate Sudden Impact.

Eyeball collection is the third rune choice because has great kill and outplay potential and Eyeball collection gives bonus damage with each eyeball collected.

Ravenous Hunter and Ultimate Hunter are both good choices on . It just depends on what you're trying to achieve in the game.

Ultimate Hunter reduces Perfect Execution which will help for more trades, while Ravenous Hunter is good at helping you survive since it heals you when using your abilities. Ravenous Hunter is the recommended choice since it provides sustain in fights.

Resolve is the best choice to run as a secondary since it provides more sustain. Snowballing is everything in the current meta.

Early game champions like , , will be seen more often and they will be able to kill you easier.

Bone plating is the first rune of resolve to run on since the rune stops some damage from the enemies in extended trades. This is helpful as it gives you the chance of staying in lane longer.

The second rune you run on is Overgrowth since it will help give more health to stay in lane longer.
Early game
Early game is not the strong suit for since she is an assassin who, like all assassin's, aren't strong at level 1 unless they catch people out. Playing as akali size-50, you want to hit level 2 which is the first melee minion after the first wave of minions. Once you hit level 2, you want to engage with you Shuriken Flip then use Shuriken Flip again, then use your Assassin's Mark on them for the extra damage and Electrocute proc (Proc = refers to a weapon, item or ability activating with the "Chance on Hit" or "Chance on Use" effect (an ability or a spell) in case you didn't know). At the level 2 all in, the goal is to leave them with lower health so that way at level 3 you can do more damage and hopefully kill them with Ignite.

Laning phase for is straight forward. In most matchups you want the wave to be towards you but not under turret. Freezing the wave will deny farm to your enemy. If your enemy laner over extends for farm, you will be able to catch them out quickly.
Mid game
Mid game as , you're looking to assassinate the enemy to get ahead. Hextech Gunblade should already be purchased at this time which will help secure kills and hit the rest of your abilities. It should always be used first when engaging on enemies because of the slow the the greater chance to land abilities.

Since is an assassin, you want to abuse the fact that she's mobile and roam. is able to over extend and play riskier because of her Perfect Execution and Shuriken Flip since those are easy escapes for to use.

There's still that fine line between risk and reward. For example if you're dying a lot, you need to play safer and group with your team. Staying around your team is key rather than in lane since the enemies will know where you are if you're in lane. Shuriken Flip will give you easy access into fights as well.
Late game
needs to continue trying to catch extended enemies since they're out of position.

The most crucial part of playing let alone any assassin is map awareness. One mistake can quickly get you killed and cost major objectives for your team such as Baron.

Since your kit has a few dashes, you are able to play slightly riskier. Late game for is like her mid game. When playing , your job in team fights in the later stages is to engage on squishy targets like the support or ADC. Unless you have Baron, you should not be attempting to split but should group with your team instead.
  • Remember to always start off a fight with Hextech Gunblade since it slows your target and deals additional damage.
  • Assassin's Mark +AA | Standard combo during the laning phase.
    You should utilize this as much as possible on the enemy to poke them down.
  • Shuriken Flip + Shuriken Flip +AA + Assassin's Mark + AA | Standard combo used during the laning phase.
    Check the map before engaging since you don't want to engage when the enemy jungle is nearby.
  • Shuriken Flip + Shuriken Flip + Assassin's Mark + AA | Standard level 2/3 all in combo.
  • Shuriken Flip + Shuriken Flip + Assassin's Mark + AA + {Icon=ignite size=50] Ignite | Standard level 2/3 all in combo.
  • Perfect Execution + Flash + Shuriken Flip + AA + Shuriken Flip + AA + Assassin's Mark + AA + Perfect Execution | Advanced in all combo.
  • Perfect Execution + AA + Shuriken Flip + AA + Shuriken Flip + AA + Assassin's Mark + AA + Perfect Execution | Advanced all in combo.
  • Perfect Execution + Shuriken Flip + Shuriken Flip + Assassin's Mark + Perfect Execution | Fast all in combo.
Always keep in mind that is a difficult champion with a huge outplay potential.
  • Good sustain in team fights and in the early game. When using Assassin's Mark over a certain amount of energy will heal you. Maximum healing can be obtained by hitting as many minions and champions as you can with it.
  • Shuriken Flip is a great escape ability which can even go over walls.
  • Perfect Execution doesn't have a chosen target. You can use Perfect Execution whenever and wherever you are. It is helpful since it can allow you to dash over walls and to escape enemies.
