Taric top can and will perform in high ELO. I promise as most of the league community is in Bronze or Silver this guide should be a lot of fun for those of you who want to try a new champ in a new lane that will make your non ranked games lots of fun. Also News Flash!!! Juggernaut update makes this guy one of the cool kids...
Hop in ranked and make that AD across from your lane very sad. Your Gems and armor runes will keep you safe and make them.....OUTRAGEOUS! As for the AP across from you this build will require some quick thinking and Emeralds for insight.

For those who Don't Like to read

(Please look at notes for a lot of answers as to how this build scales and why. I don't like walls of text so for those of you who don't as well the mouse over notes should help you get by. There is also a Taric support section for those who really want it. I added jungle as well but I haven't made efforts to test it as well. With the rework I can see this working much more effectively than before.

I will try and update when I can but don't take my lack of building this guide as reason not to try this build. (Do you wanna build guides?) Please do a better job than me or ask someone to update their old guide. Or send me BBCode for this one :)

Taric Top is a Joke?

Think again.

I read tons of guides and one thing I know is that I don't really read them. I look at the top to see if they make sense, read the skills and what they do and hope the guide points me in the right direction. The rest is practice. So before you say this build is troll get some practice games in.

A note on AP chamions.

This is probably where a skillful Taric Top from a regular old Taric Top Would be Troll will shine. AP chamions can trade right in your face and take themselves down to just 1 HP before you fall. Taking Ignite is a good option. Deny farm with your E Dazzle and let them push to turret. Let your jungle know early to hang out as this may get ugly. A well timed E Dazzle before a Gank can be your saving grace. I will be trying alternative builds when against AP as Taric but stick to the plan. By mid/late game roam around find an AD just dying to show off and show them your rubys for vigor.

No champion is without their flaws. Taric is no different

+ One of the best defensive and offensive ultimate's in game.
+ Damage Scales with Armor
+ A long stun Dazzle
+ Double auto-attacks following each ability use
+ Double ability Casting when linked with other Champs from bastion.
+ Strong Healing ability
+ Excels in team fights
+ Harmony Vigor Insight and Divinity! He's Fabulous


- Long cast time on a good ultimate ability
- Lacks in spells that output damage and reliant on close range
- low mobility
- Strongly mana reliant

If you take an ignite Ignite you can make some early kills but in the early laning phase without it you will mostly be playing safe and sound...that is until you have enough armor to chase to the ends of the earth.

Flash Flash will be good for running from a gank, not so useful for that last hit. If you do flash for 1 hp kill make sure u land right on top of them and that they have used thier flash. Otherwise you'll wish you saved it for the escape.

Teleport Teleport is important to keep lane control and deny farm.

For Taric I can tell you when trading it is simple

Auto Attack
followed up by a skill
followed by an auto attack
followed up by a skill
....lather rinse repeat.

DazzleUse your E to engage and escape respectively.
Starlight's TouchYour Q as filler when you need to proc your passive or legitimately heal. Save up 3 stack on the heal if possible to increase mana effectiveness of the heal.
BastionThis creates a link between you and another player for double stuns heals and ulty shields. Alone or with an ally it puts a little shield on you to soak up damage.
Cosmic RadianceAnd R you Big defensive move. The timer for it to activate requires a lot of insight and predictive skill to show off. You won't get lucky here. It is skillful use for this one. Long cooldown even with cdr from spells.



For most this sounds silly and not in depth enough but if i need to be more detailed you need more time playing melee champs. Play Safe Play Smart

For Taric top I all ways grab E Dazzle first and play safe early,
followed by E Starlight's Touch at level 2
and going back to Maxing e Dazzle.
Grab w Bastion at level 4 so ganks can go off well and MAX in that order.

Farming used to be a challenge but not any longer. You can proc a skill before you auto to secure most of your CS. Just watch your mana and try and time it just right. Once you reach mid game and have Iceborn Gauntlet you can clear waves with the same type of sequence as trades. If you lane is pushed head to the jungle, Taric can clear camps with the gauntlet very easily.
