Jungle Leona? WTF You Doing?

Yeah. I get that a lot. But i'm going to show you why this is not a joke and why you should try it out too. First of all, have you ever been ganked by that annoying a** support Leona cuz your Bot lane decided they aren't gonna call mia this game? That feeling when you just want to get away but you can't do anything but sit there and take it? Well, with Leona jungle you can be the ultimate troll and inflict that emotional turmoil on all of your enemies, cuz you'll be ganking often and with no bot lane to ever call mia on you. Yeah it's a good feeling on the other end, just like jungle Blitz (*Wink* *Wink*). Screw dodging and going AFK, this is the ultimate troll tactic (and just as great of a winning tactic :).

Pros / Cons

a

Pros
* Naturally tanky
* Really good damage for how tanky you are
* Extremely good mid/late game
* Little MR, armor required since you have W: leaves more room for health or damage items
* A **** ton of CC
* Very versatile in builds
* Makes enemies tilt
* Umbrellas are rad
a
a

Cons
* Bad early game
* A little hard sometimes if you fall behind
* Not the best clear early game
* Item dependent
* Your team will think you're trolling
* If you don't do well, you're team will be super salty that you went Leona JG
* You need the Pool Party skin's umbrella to be the most effective
* If the enemy has sunglasses and gets away with 1 health (skins with sunglasses block 1 damage from attacks with light, no joke) you will be the saltiest person on the face of the earth

So these choices might seem weird to some people, but here's my explanation:
    1) Attack speed quints for more on-hit damage procs

    2) Scaling health seals for a great additional health (very underrated: 24 health per seal is a lot. For perspective, scaling health quints end at 48 health per quint, totaling to 144 health, while scaling health seals end up at 216 health at 18, a value of about 530 gold in game)

    3) Armor marks to replace armor seals (armor marks are only 0.09 less than seals, definitely worth the health^^)

    4) Magic resist glyphs (the most total MR out of all runes)

I think these are pretty self-explanatory, but if I get enough requests I'll go more in-depth.

Leona's damaging spells affect the target with Sunlight for 3.5 seconds. When allied champions deal damage to those targets they consume the Sunlight debuff to deal 20 / 35 / 50 / 65 / 80 / 95 / 110 / 125 / 140 additional magic damage. The amount is increased every 2 levels. Leona is unable to activate the additional damage herself.

Sunlight Sadly, this isn't going to provide much for you in the jungle. But the extra damage it provides is excellent for ganks and teamfights. TIP: Remember that the passive applies after every ability, but only if it's not on the target already, so blowing all your spells at once before your teammate can attack will only apply one stack. However, communicate with your lanes and try to cooperate with the timing so that you can spread out your spells, even if it's just slightly, and your teammate can activate each instance of your passive. Works best in duo queue.

a
a
Cooldown: 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 / 7 Cost: 45 / 50 / 55 / 60 / 65
Leona's next basic attack will deal 40 / 70 / 100 / 130 / 160 (+30% of ability power) additional magic damage and stun the target for 1.25 seconds.

Shield of Daybreak is going to be your main CC. The way you use this in a 1v1 can determine if you win or not. That all depends on circumstances. If you wait until they use their escape, then you can Zenith Blade them and then stun them (unless their escape has a long range). Tip: In the jungle, remember to rotate between Krugs stun and q stun to get the most out of each. Take your first point in this and then max it second.
a
a

a
a
Cooldown: 14 Cost: 60 Range: 275
Leona raises her shield to gain 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 (+ 20 % of bonus Armor and Magic Resistance) bonus Armor and Magic Resistance for 3 seconds. When the effect ends she deals 60 / 110 / 160 / 210 / 260 (+40% of ability power) magic damage to nearby enemies and prolongs the effect for a bonus 3 seconds if any enemies are struck.

Eclipse is your main source of armor and MR. This ability gives incredible bonuses and makes you super tanky. Because of this ability, you can stack a lot of health, increasing your defense and you damage from Titanic Hydra. Tip: make sure while you're jungling, especially early, to wait to use this until your Q stun or Krugs stun wears off; the armor and MR buffs are completely wasted if the monster is stunned and isn't attacking you. Take your second point in this, because you will not need the defense bonuses since Krugs will be stunned almost the whole first clear, then max this first.
a
a

a
a
Cooldown: 13 / 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 Cost: 60 Range: 700
Leona projects a solar image of her sword, which deals 60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 (+40% of ability power) magic damage to all enemies in a line. When the image fades, the last enemy champion struck will be immobilized for 0.5 seconds and Leona will dash to them.

Zenith Blade is a great engage and chase ability. The root is also very useful as you can make sure they don't move until you can Q them. Then they still can't move :) TIPS: if the enemy has a short range escape, like Lee Sin's W or Jax's Q, then let them blow it before using Zenith Blade. This way you can catch right back up to them and stun them and they won't have an escape anymore. In a different situation, which is uncommon but still happens, if you're in a really bad spot then you can sometimes Zenith Blade to the nearest enemy if they are in your way of escape, and then Q stun them. That way you pulled yourself further from the rest of the enemy team, the enemy closest to you is now stunned, and you can set up the whole group for your ult.
a
a

a
a
Cooldown: 90 / 75 / 60 Cost: 100 Range: 1200
After a brief delay, Leona calls down a beam of solar energy dealing 150 / 250 / 350 (+80% of ability power) magic damage and slowing enemies by 80% for 1.5 seconds. Enemies in the center of the beam are stunned instead of slowed.

Solar Flare is your ultimate, and arguably one of the best ultimates in the game. The CC is unreal and the teamfight potential is just cray. If you think you're gonna be going into late game then think about picking up some CDR, like Black Cleaver or Frozen Heart, so that you can have it up preferably every teamfight. However, it already has a pretty decent cooldown of 60 seconds, so CDR isn't essential.

Items

As you will find while playing this build, jungle Leona has a lot of flexibility in her build. Pretty much anything that gives attack speed, on-hit damage, or defense can at least be considered. However, there are some items that are arguably better than most others. I usually build a variant of either build #1 or #2, as seen above. Here I will describe why I consider these items viable and give a personal rating for each.
a
a
a
10 Essential!! This is what makes this build. This is where your main DPS comes from. The double proc on Titanic Hydra deals so much damage for how tanky it makes you.
a
a
a
10 Also an essential item. This, paired with your devourer, just brings so much damage and it stacks with your health. Because of your W, you can build a lot more health than a typical champ and be super tanky, as well as increasing your damage from this item.
a
a
a
10 Not exactly the most important item in this build, but I give this a 10 because I build these just about every single game.
a
a
a
aa
9 I have found myself building this more and more games where I need to be tanky. Combined, they provide more health than Warmog's and remotely the same MR/Armor as guardian angel/zz'rot (50 armor, 70 MR with banshee and dead man's, as opposed to 60 and 60). If you don't care for the Warmog's or GA/Zz'rot passives then pick these up instead.
a
a
a
8 A great defensive item. I used to build this pretty much every time I want a more defensive build. It gives A LOT of health and since we don't need a lot of MR or armor, this fits right in. It also increases our Titanic Hydra damage a lot. However, I have been experimenting with Dead Man's and Banshee's more and I feel the latter is a bit better in some situations. The passive from this is excellent, but if you feel no need for it then take the two above.
a
a
a
9 A great damage boost. If you're going for more damage, definitely pick this item up. The increased attack speed, combined with the on-hit effect is just marvelous, especially in combination with your Titanic Hydra. In addition, even though we're not really focusing on the damage of your abilities, the AP this items gives is just a convenient boost.
a
az
a
9 If you're going for more damage, but don't want to sacrifice too much tank, this is a really nice item. The health it gives grants a lot of tank, but not quite as much as Warmog's Armor. However, the shield and base damage increase is great. Great bruiser item.
a
a
a

aa
9 These are great defensive items, even if we don't need too much MR/armor. I almost never build any other MR or armor so these make up for that. With your W, this is the only armor or magic resist you'll ever need if the rest of your defense is health. The choice between these pretty much comes down to if you want more potential in teamfights (choose Guardian Angel), or more split push pressure (choose Zz'Rot Portal)
a
a
a
8 A great item against AP champs. Solid damage, armor penetration, magic resist, and a passive that can save your life. No health though, so build this only if you need the MR and make sure you build a health item with it.
a
a
a
aa
8 If you absolutely need the magic resist, pick one of these up; Spirit Visage for a tad of CDR, or Banshee's Veil if you need defense against burst. If you build one of these, you should build a Dead Man's Plate instead of Guardian Angel or Zz'Rot Portal.
a
a
a
aa
6 If you're desperate for armor cuz that Yi is just cray cray, then pick up one of these, but make sure you BUILD HEALTH WITH THIS! You already get a lot of armor from your W so you usually won't need this. If you build one of these build Warmog's Armor with it. It might be better to build Dead Man's Plate and Randuin's Omen.
