Champion Build Guide

Welcome to Clown Town [In Depth Shaco Guide]

By ChaoticClockwork
Why play Shaco?
Shaco is a great early game bully, and his outplay potential is huge when you get good enough. There is no better feeling than the enemy saying "Jg Diff" after a 15 minute ff. But most of all, Shaco is just fun! His play style and ascetic is what brought me in, and his outplay potential and high skill ceiling is why I kept playing him. Enough about that, lets get into the how.
What the hell do I do? Back to Top
So the first choice you need to make in champ select is what build you are going. There is a nice spread sheet made by DesperateShaco here:here

But most of all you want to focus on what YOUR team is doing. Don't go AD Shaco if your team is all AD, same with AP Shaco. You usually want to take into account what the enemy jungle is, and what your team is running to make the best decision for this. More things to take into account when choosing what build to go are: How oppressive do you want/need to be in jungle? Better early game you want to go for AD Shaco over AP (Which is better midgame). What lanes do you want to gank and how mobile are they? If the enemy team has very low mobility then it is easier for AP Shaco to lock em down and **** em up.

Whatever your choice may be, the rest of the guide will help you learn what to do with your fancy runes and items.
How to start! Back to Top
Your first clear is the most important part of the game, get level 3 as fast as possible and begin the terror. Here is a link to a great little video on how to do the fastest level 3, but I will explain how to do a easier one for beginners. The best clear, from
korvinrular

That may be the best clear, but it is easy to **** up. The clear I do most games is 2 boxes on raptors then set the next one outside of redbuff spawn. Start Raptors and keep autoing until the big one is dead. (You may have to auto one or two baby raptors if burn doesn't kill them.) Then take Q and go over red buff wall and place another box so it pushes it into the box you previously placed. Keep autoing the red until it is dead then go to Krugs with another Q and smite the big Krug while placing another box. Kill the big Krug then keep all medium ones alive until they are low HP: (Make sure your burn is constantly applied by swapping targets.) When they are all low enough place your last box and start walking to a lane or enemy jungle to invade, your box will finish off the rest for you. (I will add a video for this clear eventually.)
After First Clear. Back to Top
After your first clear you want to either gank a lane if the opportunity is right, or if that isn't in the cards you can go for a early invade. You will beat most junglers early because of your fast level 3. If red is your topside then you can most likely find enemy jungle on their blue or gromp level 2 if you get there fast enough (If you hesitate they will almost always be level 3). Interrupt them, kill them, and get out before their laners can catch you. (Smiting the camp away from them is bonus points). Jump to the mechanics section if you want to learn the best way of murdering your prey.
The Fun begins Back to Top
Your early game goes perfectly, your first back you get Tiamat and basic boots (And vision control) and the lead on enemy jungle is growing. Use your ult to solo objectives and translate your lead into dragons, heralds, and towers for your team. This time is crucial as this will decide the rest of your game. Clear to your carry lanes, and shadow them as much as you can. Keep enemy jungle warded so you can clean up their camps while they are on the opposite side of the map and kill them if you see them on wards. Get to your item spikes fast so you can stay in the game, you WILL fall off and it WILL suck, that's why your early to mid game is so important. Don't steal kills unless your team can't get them without it, gold in your carries is more important than the pretty K in your K/D/A. Keep your jungle and the enemy jungle cleared so you won't fall off as hard.
To be continued Back to Top
I am adding more to this guide later, slowly making it full. Thanks for reading :)
