Why WildCard Ezreal?
I love playing Ezreal as well as about half the LOL population XD
But with Season 3 I wanted to look at a number of things and started to develop Ezreal’s R&M (Runes and Masteries) and builds so that I could play Ezreal in 1 of 5 positions. I play Ezreal Top, Jungle, Mid, ADC, or Support and this guide will show you one of them.
But Why? Why learn Ezreal to play in every position? This is why. If you look at my guide “Phases of Summoner’s Rift” you will see a section that describes the priorities and things to keep in mind throughout the entire game, including Champion Select. This Wildcard Ezreal is for The Champion Select Phase:
First!: WildCard Ezreal is designed for 5v5 premade games.
First-pick Ezreal, this should bait out a counterpick for ADC (Example: Graves), but now your team gets to counterpick Graves. The enemy team is confused, they either assume a kill lane or that Ezreal is going Mid, so they counter Ezreal Mid (Example: Ahri), and now you get to counter pick Ahri. Continue this until each lane has an advantage and put your Wild Card Ezreal where ever the gods have placed him.
:) Enjoy.
Summoner Spells: While being extremely offensive I wanted to take advantage of some of the new items, as well as maintain Ezreal's amazing escapability. Flash/Ghost I feel is great for both offense and defense. Mid is one of the hardest lanes to gank due to the number of exits that are presented. While ignite may provide some secure kills, Ghost provides the safety net so that you WON'T get caught. Enchanting your boots will also provide Ezreal with faster cooldowns.
Ezreal's item build starts off with a Kage's Lucky Pick, to provide an advantage in gold, or, if you are falling behind, maintains you and your opponent's gold income evenly. I must say though, I'm fortunate to play with teammates that follow the "second Blue goes to Mid" rule and do not need much Mana Regen Items. I have run into trouble when I'm without that blue though, so a Fiendish Codex may be a better first item, depending on your game. What I can stress is that you get your boots and then rush for a Lich Bane. Ezreal, sadly, only damages with his Essence Flux until getting his Lich Bane. This low amount damage can be frustrating but if you save your mana and fire secure shots, Ezreal's Essence Flux can really dent champion(s)'s health.
Playing WildCard Ezreal, I skin code my APC:Mid Ezreal with the NottingHam Ezreal Skin
