You Belong In A Museum! - Ezreal ADC

By EzVeryReal
Welcome to my Ezreal guide! My IGN is Ezrëàl and I'm a Diamond ADC main. I've been playing League for roughly 6 years now? And I peaked at Diamond 3. Ironically, I'm not an Ezreal onetrick. However, he's one of my favorite champions due to his versatility and how safe you can play. This guide is focused on teaching you how to play Ezreal to the best of your ability at any Rank!
Pros / Cons Back to Top
+Versatile, which means he can adapt to nearly every situation.
+Safe, thus he's never really a bad pick.
+Tends to lack actual counters.
+Strong Poke/Hybrid Damage.
+Extremely Fun and Rewarding once you master him!

-Useless when behind.
-Skill-Shot Oriented.
-Fairly Hard to Master.
-Tear Reliant.
Runes Back to Top

Kleptomancy is Ezreal's best rune due to his ability to proc it with his Q Mystic Shot. With this rune, you're able to get extra gold, additional health pots, and mana potions which are very helpful in the early game! In lane, you'll be able to poke the enemy out while also getting yourself something nice for the trouble.

Magical Footwear is very useful on Ezreal since it allows him to save 300 Gold. He doesn't need boots pre-12mins anyway due to his mobility so this additional gold helps him with items, pink wards, or a refillable! Keep in mind that the 12 minute mark when you get your boots is reduced with kills + assists!

Biscuit Delivery is extremely useful to Ezreal due to giving him free sustain every 3 minutes and helping him regenerate mana. This biscuit also provides you with an additional 40 mana everytime you consume it or sell it! It's basically free gold and it helps with your build/sustain.

Cosmic Insight is a necessity on Ezreal because he is a caster ADC. His entire character and damage is based around weaving in auto-attacks with your abilities. This additional 5% CDR will help you a bit early game but it really ramps up mid-late game with your 45% CDR.

Manaflow Band is, of course, extremely helpful and necessary on Ezreal since it provides him with additional mana. This extra mana helps you poke but more importantly, it helps with the extra AD you get from Muramana! Also, the mana regen once it's fully stack is pretty neat.

Transcendence is a rune that I personally love to take. You'll see a lot of other people take Gathering Storm which is a decent option since it helps you scale butttttt. With most of my builds you cap out at 35% CDR. This will give you that extra boost later on in the game, plus, it gives you some early CDR in the mid-game before you have many items. On a final note, any extra CDR you build gets converted into AP so it's not a waste anyway.
Summoner Spells Back to Top
Flash is an essential Summoner Spell on nearly every champion. It's standard to take and it provides some additional mobility in situations where you mess up sooooo take it.

Heal is the standard on any and all ADCs due to the movement speed it provides and the heal to you and your support.

Teleport is a situational Summoner Spell on Ezreal. It can allow him to not only stack his tear faster, but it also allows him to clear waves while still having a presence with his team. I recommend only taking it if you're with Yuumi or if you know you can play safe in lane and you don't need it for fights. Otherwise, take Heal.
Items Back to Top
Muramana: This is Ezreal's bread and butter. Once his tear is fully stacked, it will make him hit like a truck! This item is what makes Ezreal who he is and he is nothing without it. Hence why you need to rush to get Manamune stacked ASAP.

Trinity Force: This item provides Ezreal with so many stats that it's a crime to not get it. I build this a great majority of the time over Iceborn Gauntlet due to how strong it makes you. The Sheen proc makes your Q, Mystic Shot, do more damage. The Phage gives you movement speed and health so you can kite more. Overall, it's a great item that you should look to build nearly every game.

Iceborn Gauntlet: This item right here is honestly a waste to me. It's very situational when it'll be useful and most of the time all it does is heavily reduce your damage. Only take this when you need to kite the enemy extremely hard or if you really, really need the armor. Otherwise, steer clear and focus on thing like HextechGLP-800 for kiting, or Zhonya's Hourglass, Ninja Tabi, Guardian Angel if you need armor.

Hextech Gunblade: This is an item that provides Ezreal with strong hybrid stats all while providing him with some healing. I prefer this over Blade of the Ruined King but take your pick. The active will help you burst enemy's lategame and it just is an overall good item.

Sorcerer's Shoes: These are the boots I take most of the time. The additional Magic Penetration is just free damage if the enemy isn't building Magic Resist. I tend to prefer these over anything else since I can build additional resistances through other items.

Ninja Tabi: I only go these boots if they have a heavy auto-attack based team/champion, or if I really need the armor. Most of the time I take these if the enemy has an assassin or a Twitch. The extra 5 seconds that they keep you alive can be a game changer so don't think little of these great boots.

Mercury's Treads: These boots are very rare to take, however, they're amazing when you do need them. If the enemy team has a lot of CC and/or a lot of AP, these work wonders. I personally rarely ever take them but I do love them when the enemy has a Rakan or Ahri.

Hextech GLP-800: Honestly, this is one of my favorite items on Ezreal. It provides you with AP, CDR, and some CC. Due to my hate of Iceborn Gauntlet, if I need help kiting or my team needs some slows, Hextech GLP-800 is my go-to item. It also provides you with some AOE damage in fights. Overall, it's amazing and don't underestimate the difference it can make.

Luden's Echo: This is seen as a standard on Ezreal but, it doesn't do too much for me. I honestly prefer Hextech GLP-800 a lot more but this item is useful if you don't need the slows and you want the extra 10 AP. However, sometimes I like to build this in addition to Hextech GLP-800 so take from that what you will.
