Anyone see the game where Galio just ulted the entire enemy team - great ult, got everyone! Especially Udyr in Bearstance 8D
Why choose Galio when Amumu's snare can't be interrupted and has bigger range? Instead of countering a high AP mid with Galio's MR, why not run a melee AD assassin to ruin their day?
(Mowen, typo in OP, "place" - played? placed?)

Oh god, fix'd! 8D (I even asked someone to look at it before I posted!!!)
Good insights so far guys, I think you guys are pretty accurate about his problems and this will help new players understand champion's strengths according to the meta. :)
Thanks to GrandMasterD for my sig!
i disagree on Bulwark being useless since it's 90 armor and Mres, potentially for an adc. i know, i know, armor pen and stuff but with adc's taking Warmog's Armor or Randuin's Omen, it's not bad, imo.
I don't really see people mention this, but his ult ( Idol of Durand) scales upwards with each attack against him, so items like Randuin's Omen and Frozen Heart actually hurt his damage output from ult.
Thanks for the Signature MissMaw!

With Galio however, things are worse. Galio was known to be a good counterpick against many AP casters though with the penetration change in S3, every AP caster can simply rush a Void Staff against him. The Void Staff will now be fully effective on champions with lower mres values since % is applied before flat. (Add a Sorc's and a Guise to the equation and you're set) This means that galio can't really abuse his passive, not to mention that there are very few items that work with it. (Athene's and Abyssal are the only real ones)
Sadly, it only gets worse. Galio's skillset allows him to be a passive farmer/pusher but not an efficient roamer. Basically he is the very statue he looks like. He sits there, farms, rinse repeat. He lacks a true gap-closer and his Q especially isn't easy to hit.
Problems arise with his ultimate, which by the way, has a cool down of two centuries. On top of that, it's a fairly small AoE of which the maximum damage potential is based on your AP and the amount of damage you tanked. Though, you need to be able to actually tank this so you need those items as well. The only real way to get off a good ult is by using Flash and then pray it won't get interrupted.
Galio isn't the best cc-er, not the best pusher and he just doesn't fit the meta. His passive is outdated and doesn't help against AD casters anyway.
