Hello and welcome to the MOBAFire Patch Summary - 8.11!

This patch is a doozy, with a Marksman itemization sweep, new runes and a number of adjustments to jungle monsters and towers. Read on below to learn more!

Balance Changes

Item Changes

New item building out of a B. F. Sword, Pickaxe and Dagger with a total cost of 3200 gold. Grants 70 AD and 30% attack speed. Unique passive guarantees that your first attack in combat will critically strike and give you a burst of movement speed.
Now builds out of two B. F. Swords with a total cost of 3700 gold. No longer grants crit chance or crit damage, but instead doubles all of your critical strike chance and converts 15% of your critical strikes to true damage.
Builds out of a B. F. Sword, Caulfield's Warhammer and Sapphire Crystal with a total cost of 3200 gold. No longer grants any crit chance or scaling CDR. Now grants a flat 20% CDR, restores a % of your missing mana on every basic attack and grants Essence Flare after casting your ultimate, increasing your attack speed and causing your basic attacks to refund 20% of your remaining non-ultimate cooldowns.
Now penetrates 10% of the target's total armor instead of 35% of the target's bonus armor. Lord Dominik's Regards and Mortal Reminder were also affected. In addition, Lord Dominik's Regards no longer has the Giant Slayer passive and Giant Slayer has been removed.
Crit chance has become more expensive, so the total costs for Brawler's Gloves, Zeal, Rapid Firecannon, Statikk Shiv, Runaan's Hurricane and Phantom Dancer have all gone up by 100-300 gold. Cloak of Agility has also been removed.
Since Marksmen have to spend more gold on crit, lifesteal is now cheaper! The Bloodthirster and Blade of the Ruined King are both 200 gold less expensive.
Magic resist up by 5 and the shield is now a flat 350 instead of 300 + 100% of bonus magic resist.
Total cost increased by 400 gold, Chain Vest added to recipe and armor increased from 30 to 40.
No longer grants 10% cooldown reduction and the active does not grant the promoted minion magic immunity. Instead, the minion receives 70% reduced damage from champions.
Total cost increased by 150g, Faerie Charm added to recipe. Now grants 100% base mana regen, but movement speed is lowered from 8% to 5% and the active takes 30 more seconds to cool down.
Build path changed from Lost Chapter to Fiendish Codex and Sapphire Crystal. Ability power also increased from 60 to 80. Total cost remains unchanged.


Rune Changes

Haste lowered from 30% to 20% and ranged champions heal only 20% from minions. Melee champions now heal the full amount against minions. Heal AP ratio increased by 0.1.
New rune that grants 50-100% attack speed for the first three attacks made against enemy champions. Recharges out of combat.
New Domination rune replacing The Ultimate Hat which is now removed. Lowers your ultimate cooldown by getting unique champion takedowns.
Taking The Ultimate Hat's old slot in Sorcery, this new rune grants a burst of movement speed shortly after casting your ultimate.
Initial lockout of the active item is increased from 155 seconds to 240 seconds, limiting early access to wave control.


Other Changes

  • Turrets

    • Inhibitor and Nexus turrets have less health, but regenerate faster. The turret health is now divided into thirds. These turrets will only regenerate up to the top of their current third.

    • Inner turret gold rewards have been pushed from global gold towards local gold.

  • Jungle

    • Baron Nashor deals less DPS and his special attacks no longer apply stacks of Corruption.

    • Scuttler respawn timers increased by 15 seconds and the shrine duration is increased by the same amount.

    • Krugs, Wolves, Raptors and Gromp now grant slightly more experience up to level 7 (lvl 1 XP is the same).

  • ARAM


  • Pings

    • Area is Warded, Danger, Assist Me and Caution ping sounds now change depending on how far they are from the listening player and in what direction.

  • Instant Feedback

    • Reform cards are getting some spring cleaning, so we added per-game tabs for chat logs, and made it more clear which chat is from pre-, mid-, or post-game.

  • Level Up Rewards

    • Prestige Emotes for levels 400, 425, 450, 475, and 500 will come out during this patch. Players who hit these levels before the emotes are live, will be granted them two weeks after they launch.

  • Bugfixes

    • Players are no longer presented with the reconnect dialogue after exiting Practice Tool.

    • Aurelion Sol can now correctly be knocked up or back during E - Comet of Legend
      Fixed an interaction between Hextech Flashtraption and Unsealed Spellbook which would allow players to get two Flash summoner spells

    • Ryze can no longer kill Tryndamere through his Undying Rage with his Spell Flux Overload combo.

    • Dead minions no longer sometimes block champion pathing.

    • Guardian no longer incorrectly activates from ally corpses.

    • Yasuo's Way of the Wanderer now correctly generates a shield in response to damage from Shaco's Hallucinate clone.

Hail of Blades is awesome. Best rune on autoattacking assassins like Nocturne, Diana, Shaco...also good on Master Yi to charge rageblade.

Nimbus Cloak, frankly, I think is extremely underpowered. It's basically a phase rush except you have to ult for it. It doesn't even give slow resistance. Ultimate hat removal is a pretty massive mage nerf. Remove their mana, remove their runes...Riot hates mages. Frankly I think a lot of mages will go domination as primary now.

Last Whisper items...urgh. Changed from anti-tank to anti-everything.

Shurelya nerfed (yes!), Khazix nerfed (yes!), Banner cheese removed from the game (I LOVE YOU), but Xin nerf is a joke (sad).

This looks like an AD burst patch. From Stormrazor to Last Whisper items...this mainly advantages AD bruisers and assassins.

I like Nimbus but it's useful on such a small number of champions (like Morg, off the top of my head) whereas Ultimate Hat could've potentially been used by just about any champion. I don't know why they they got rid of the latter.

I don't know, I think Nimbus Cloak actually isn't all that bad.
Some other champions that might benefit from this that I can think of quickly:

Udyr doesn't have an ultimate. Nimbus Cloak literally does nothing on him.

It's also disabled on shape changing champions like Elise, Nidalee and Jayce.

In all those cases it's replaced by Nullifying Orb.

Even if it were changed to work on them it would activate automatically when you're farming and go on cooldown for one minute.

God that rune needs a buff.

Ultimate Hat didn't work on Udyr/Shyv either to be fair. It did work on transformations (Elise etc) though from what I remember.
