TFT Set 8 Build Comp Tier List
Find the best team comps for Teamfight Tactics Set 8: Monsters Attack! using our meta tier list. Building your team correctly will make or break your game. By using our TFT team builds, you will stay on top of the meta and up your game! Our Team Comps Tier list is updated for Patch 12.23 so you can stay on top of the ever-changing TFT meta.
Ox Force is one of the best chase traits you can aim for as it gives an insane amount of Attack Speed to every Ox Force unit, while also providing a short invulnerability effect. The Emblem is craftable by combining a Spatula with a Chainvest and works best on auto attacked based units like Belveth or Zed.
You want to have at least 6 Ox Force on your board combined with Hacker and send Zed to the enemy backline. You can close out the game either by building another Emblem and adding 8 Ox Force or add Legendary units like Aphelios and Leona in late game with level 9.
One of the strongest Reroll comps we have in Set 8 so far. You want to commit for this comp if you have a strong early Hero Augment for Ashe or Renekton, or an Augment that helps you to find your units. The goal is to 3 star every unit you put on your board.
Since you are trying to 3 star all of your units to maximize the effect of the Super trait, there is a good chance you might end the game with level 7, but your units are capable enough to win you the lobby.
One of the best Reroll comps you can currently go for. Your goal is to maximize your economy in the early game and go for a large roll down in Stage 3-1 to maximize your Level 4 shop odds.
With Level 6 you continue to slow roll and attempt to 3 star your entire board to maximize the effect of the Supers trait. If you ended up struggling to find Nasus or Galio you can also push for a faster level 6 and add Vi together with Nilah instead. This allows you to add Ekko for Star Guardians later in the game.
Yuumi will target the furthest unit within her attack range, which makes her positioning extremely important. Make sure she is positioned in the third row and on the same side as the enemy carry, this way you can often bypass the enemy frontline and snipe your opponent's backline!
Miss Fortune is currently one of the best AP carries in the game. Usually this comps prioritizes frontline items first, especially Warmog and Sunfire to remain flexible throughout the entire game. She will require one mana generating item like Shojin in combination with two damage items to be able to clear the enemy board.
You are surprisingly flexible with your frontline, you can easily cut down to two Brawlers and instead add more Defenders, Aegis or run 5 Anima Squad instead. If you end up with too many AD items you can add a secondary carry like Vayne, Belveth or even Zed. It's not uncommon to play even another AP carry like Viego to clean up low HP units.
Try playing Kaisa, Aurelion Sol or even Taliyah until you find Miss Fortune, as they make great use out of her items.
This is the comp you want to go for if you are either very rich or have a great win streak opener. You are looking to push for a fast level 8 and want to push further to level 9 either in Stage 5-5 or 6-1 and cap out your board with legendary units.
Usually this is played with a Sureshot opener and Senna will take your items until you find Samira. Samira will stay as your main carry in the mid game and you can transfer her items to Aphelios 2 Star in the late game. It's also possible to keep Samira until the end and give Aphelios leftover items you receive from carousels.
Use 3 Civilians to get the most out of Aphelios, but be careful about Janna's passive, don't get baited into maximizing her buff, since you will likely get punished by large AoE abilities which can lose you the fight.
As a general rule of thumb for Aphelios weapons:
LEFT is for AOE DMG | MIDDLE is for STUN | RIGHT is for SINGLE DPS
If you enjoy rolling for Tier 3 units this is the comp for you! Your goal is to stay level 7 and roll for Kaisa*3, Riven*3, but you can also pick up Vayne*3 and even Nilah*3.
This comp is all about Kaisa scaling with her ability, which is why you should prioritize frontline items first, to stall the fight and buy yourself more time. You might find yourself in a situation where you might be contested and won't be able to 3 star your units properly. In this case you should push for level 8 and add Alistar/Leona and play for Top 4.
It is possible to play this comp with Vayne as your main carry, she likes items like Infinity Edge and Hurricane and with the right Hero Augment is a force to be reckoned with!
This comp uses a nifty interaction between Blue Buff Zoe and the Heart Emblem. Zoe has a very low mana pool and will constantly cast her ability, which will quickly grant your entire team a huge amount of AP from the Heart trait.
Usually the overall gameplan is to stabilize on level 7 and push for level 8 in Stage 4-5 or Stage 5-1. Soraka will end up as your main carry, but don't worry too much about her items, as long as she has a Gunblade she will be a considerable threat due to the high amount AP she receives from Zoe.
You can transfer your frontline from Annie to Ekko, if you feel like Annie isn't doing her job properly anymore in the late game. You can further strengthen your frontline by adding Zzrot, everything that helps you to prolong your fight will be in your favor.
There are two different ways to find success if you are looking to focus on Threat units.
The first way is to find the Augment "Maximum Threat", which provides every Threat unit with an HP bonus for every Threat unit you put on your board. With this you can set yourself up with the duo carry setup made up of Aurelion Sol and Belveth for a nice split of AP and AD damage. Here you are looking to push for a fast level 8 and add Legendary units like Urgot, Fiddle and even Janna to cap out your comp.
The other way is a more reroll focused approach. For example if you find the Augment "High Roller" giving you three Loaded Dice, you can use them on Threat units and will only receive Threat units in your shop. This will make it much easier to both play upgraded Threat units for a win streak and to end the game with Chogath*3, Rammus*3 and Velkoz*3.
If you end up with either Rammus*3 or Chogath*3 you should give them your tank items (Warmog, Bramble, Dclaw) and they should hold the line long enough for the rest of your team to clean up your opponents board!
Taliyah is currently one of the strongest AP carries in the game, but she can be a bit tricky to play. I'd recommend giving her mana generation with Shojin in combination with two damage items. Her best item is the Ornn item "Manazane", since she will receive more mana from her Star Guardian trait, causing her to constantly use her ability in rapid succession.
You can open with a flexible AP carry board, which is usually focused on frontline items first in combination with an early Shojin. This allows you to chose between Aurelion, Miss Fortune and Taliyah, depending on what you end up finding in your shops.
Her setup can be surprisingly flexible, you can chose to add more Spellslingers or if you end up finding Syndra you can also aim towards 5 Star Guardians, but it will all depend on your Augments and items.
Built Different is a difficult comp to execute, since the Augment will force you to change up your entire playstyle. In the early game you are looking to play upgraded units, while avoiding activating traits, so everyone receives the buff from Built Different.
You should aim to win streak and push for levels, which means you should be level 7 in Stage 4-1 and Level 8 in either Stage 4-5 or Stage 5-1. I would not recommend pushing for level 9, since you won't be able to make good use out of most legendary units. Instead you should stay on level 8 and play duplicates of your Tier 4 units. Scout the lobby to determine which units are uncontested and collect them so you can end up with a 3 Star Tier 4 unit as your win condition.
You will find more success by combining Built Different with either Double Trouble or a late Hero Augment that you can utilize until the end. Keep in mind that Threat units won't work with Built Different, so you should avoid them for the most part.
